KeyBank – 4th and Union

I have been banking with Key for nine years, their impeccable service and friendly tellers kept me loyal. When my bank card did not work in Copenhagen the amazing manager of the bank on 15^th (also the man who opened my account originally) helped me through all the issues, found a solution and was available so I could call back and confirm that the problem was solved. Today was the exact opposite, I arrived at the bank that I go to weekly on 4^th ave to find that all the usual tellers are not there just the newish fellow named Abdullah, he was so rude that I am leaving Key and going to a credit union. Last time I checked Key advertises on the side of the bus about how great their service is well this guy is obviously unaware of that cause he even had the nerve to tell me I was «wrong», who tells a customer that? And on top of that offered no resolution, refused to look me in the eye nor did he even say any type of closer like have a good day. It is really too bad that one person could ruin this bank for me but as long as Key allows their employees to act this way I will not bank there.

I’ve been with KeyBank for over 10 years and 9 of those years were complaint free. But the staff at the downtown branch is giving me every reason to change my accounts. Unfriendly and at times downright unprofessional, I try to avoid going there at all costs.
The least they could do is hire a cute, bitchy homo so their incompetence would be slightly more tolerable with a laugh and somebody easier on the eyes. The current tranny messes down there are driving me nuts!
On a lighter note, I do find the online functionality to be quite user friendly. 1) I don’t have to visit the downtown branch as often 2) I don’t have to think about the downtown branch as often

A few months back KeyBank lured me with with its free iPod deal. How could I resist? I figured I’d open an account, receive my iPod, and decide if the service was worth keeping the account for the long run. While I am now enjoying my free sexy 2^nd generation iPod Nano, I have come to the realization that nothing is «free» in this world. Everything carries some type of price tag.
After opening a checking & savings account, it took 4 weeks for my bank cards to arrive. The hold up? An incorrect mailing address. Despite repeated calls to customer care to ensure that the correct address was on file (which was correct), the bank cards were continually sent to god knows where. Number of calls to customer service — 7.
KeyBank offers free «online banking». Awesome. Free online banking that isn’t really free! During the setup, I received a prompt that in order for the registration to complete, I would need to call customer care. Calls — 1.
After adding a transfer account to move funds, KeyBank locked me out of my account for «security precautions». In order to reactivate online banking, I was to call customer care. Calls — 2.
Total calls to customer care — 9. Total calls billed for? 6. Apparently, customers who call in excess of 3 times will be charged service fees. What type of shady banking service is that? Each of those calls was required because customer care decide to a) continually send my bank cards to anywhere but my mailbox, and b) lock me out of my account for standard security precautions. On top of service charges for calls, the bank felt it was within their rights to charge me for replacement cards.
