This Mom and Pop place has good customer service. The food tastes great. They have pride in what they make/cook. The baklava has been homemade for 20 years. Support this business.

It was the Saturday after Thanksgiving, and Dave M .and I were looking for brunch. Unilocal led us here, because there was not much else open around the Vertical Hold climbing gym. The reviews seemed good. There were mentions of delicious and affordable and(most of all) huge portions… which is a big deal for me. But turns out none of these things were true. In fact, this place is royally bad. I put off writing this review, because I feel terrible… I think the proprietors(owner /operators) meant well, but this is one of the worst meals I’ve had in recent memory and Dave agrees. We should have been forewarned because the place was empty at lunch time on a Saturday. I had the patty melt and Dave had a grilled cheese sandwich. The portions were small, and the prices were not. There was a review that mentioned fresh ingredients, but there is nothing fresh about the ingredients we got. As an added bonus, when they fired up the grill to cook our meal, the grease smoke filled up the entire restaurant. The tables were sticky and the menus were sopping wet from the condensations pooling all over the table from the windows. Being a lover of street vendors in developing countries, cleanliness is not usually a huge detractor, but this is just isn’t gonna fly when you don’t pair it with good food. I would definitely NOT recommend this place. Don’t go. Just don’t. There’s an amazing gyro place just at the top of the hill. Do yourself a favor and skip this one.

I’ve liked this place since I was in high school. Good, super friendly service with a little chit chat. Decent coffee and a classic feel. There aren’t a lot of cafes left like this. Cash only. Order something off the Greek menu, you won’t be disappointed.

Excellent. Everything was very fresh. Wide selection of omelets and sandwiches. The owner/waitress was very friendly and service was quick. Great stop close to Discovery Park.

One of the best lunches I have had in a long time. The special was cooked perfectly and the owners/chef/waitress were amazing. Best part about it wasn’t the food. It was the feeling of an old diner. That comfortable feeling like you had been here before even if you hadn’t. Not the cleanest place but that didn’t matter. You eat what they suggest and my goodness. It might be time for a nap on the clock. Small owner/operator diners are what I miss. I don’t want unlimited fries and your typical applebees bologna. I also don’t want to spend $ 50 on lunch. That’s where Katina’s came in to my life. It may not be for everyone but if you leave your yuppie hat and coat on their perfectly places coat hanger you just might enjoy the family owned atmosphere and the delicious home cooked meal.

One of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve had. We went here because it was described as a Greek restaurant. The only Greek food on the menu was a gyro and a Greek salad. We were served wilted lettuce and cold, precooked chicken. When I requested hot chicken in my ‘baked spaghetti with chicken,’ he put my entire meal in the microwave, then let it sit there for several minutes. The only thing that was edible was the pita bread. It’s sad, I think this may have been a great breakfast place once that should have closed before going so far downhill.

Soo good. My boyfriend and I came for breakfast after a nice long walk at discovery Park so we were very hungry. I got the sapfo omelette which was a delicious Greek omelette with feta, gyro, tomatoes and onion. The hash Browns were also delicious. The owner was so friendly and informative, though maybe a little difficult to understand with his Greek accent. My boyfriend had a Greek sandwich with something that was like a Greek sausage on a pita. The food was all very fresh and well made with great and happy service. Definitely a different take on brunch but it was worth it. If you’re in the area definitely check it out. Portions were huge and priced low. Thank you Katina kitchen!

A real neighborhood gem ran by a local family. Service is always friendly and the food is amazing! I’ve only been here for breakfast but I assume lunch is just as good. Real home cooking from scratch with huge portions and good prices. We recently had some diet restrictions and they were more than happy to accommodate. Really good food made by really good people.

The dining room was too filthy to ignore. Sticky, dirty menus, tables, everything. I love 5 Point Café, so I say this as a person who isn’t very uptight and enjoys some dives.

One word HUGEPORTION! I ordered the Santorini Omelette and it came with hash brown and english muffin. It was certainly delicious but my omelette and hash brown was oily. It was totally worth it for a $ 12 meal(+ green tea) The owners were really nice as well. They kept on checking with us and we chatted for awhile. The restaurant looks really old but comfy. They except CASHONLY so that was something you should put in mind but there is a grocery store next door that has a ATM machine.

Is there a spot for negative stars? Upon walking in-my first reaction was to turn and run, but my other half gave me the look saying, «babe – don’t be rude, sit down and make the best of it.» The owners(???), while very nice, obviously do not take pride in cleanliness or hygiene. I watched the woman making my gyro, while also preparing my sons salad, and boyfriends omelet. which is great multitasking. until she used the same fork to whisk the eggs and dish out my tzatziki sauce. The gyro meat came directly preportioned out of plastic wrap, and tasted severely freezer burnt. The omelet was entirely brown, with so little filling that all you were able to distinguish was burned egg flavor. The physical surroundings obviously turned me off upon first entry, and I’m sad I didn’t take a picture, just to give a true idea of the atrocious environment. Needless to say, you couldn’t pay me to re-enter this disgusting excuse of a restaurant. Where is the dirty dining crew on this?

Great breakfast food, great family. Huge portions made with fresh ingredients. One omelet can easily feed two. The French toast came out hot, steamy, and fluffy, unlike the pre-cooked-warmed-up versions you sometimes get. We also had the Santorini omelet, an American omelet, and pork chops(served with two chops). All exceeded expectations. The restaurant itself was dated, but certainly no more than Pete’s Café or Beth’s. No line out the door and they are cash-only.

My husband and I are big fans of this place. It is within walking distance of our apartment and is run by a Greek family. I am in love with the Mykonos omelette and blueberry pancakes. So yummy! Portions are huge so sharing is definitely a good idea. The reason I knocked off one star is because it doesn’t seem 100% clean(a piece of plastic was floating in my water one time) and they are cash only but that hasn’t stopped us from going back.

This place is inexpensive! But the portions are huge. The food was good not great, the service and treatment great. We ordered the omelets with sausages and they felt homemade. There was nothing fancy going on, except eggs, sausages, onions and tomatoes. The potato hash was delicious and again simple. Would go again and order less! Burp!

Katina’s is literally a «Mom and Pop» diner that is not fancy but great for breakfast. The 4 stars are for the breakfast potatoes, simply sliced planks fried to perfection. The omelettes are hearty and delicious, especially the Mykonos that is made with Greek sausage and feta. Prices are very reasonable.

This review is based off a breakfast experience I had here. This restaurant is clearly a very old-school restaurant, too old-school. The restaurant run by the two owners, who appear to be a nice husband and wife team, and they handle all prep, cooking, and service duties between them. The décor is dated to say the least, as the half-height wood paneling and faded, yellowing posters from the Greece tourism board on the wall can attest. This is a no-website, no-credit-or-debit-cards, no-receipts place. My fiancée and I ordered a mushroom and cheese omelette and a California omelette. It was clear everything was made from scratch, as we witnessed the owner get some potatoes out of the cooler to make the hash browns. However the cooking technique left a lot to be desired. The hash browns came out looking a little gray and gummy, showing the water wasn’t fully pressed out of the potatoes. The range fan was’t turned on(or was really under-powered) during cooking, causing the restaurant to get smoky and making my fiancée’s eyes water. The cheese they use for the omelettes is the most American of American cheeses, Kraft Singles. The water cooked out of the mushrooms ends up still in the omelette, making it oddly watery. Overall it’s clear this restaurant is stuck in the time it opened long ago. This is a good thing if you look for family-owned-and-operated and pleasant, personable service, but not so good if you’re looking for quality cooking.

Friendly, delicious and affordable. A Magnolia gem! Passing through Seattle and looking for a quick breakfast place while my host was at work I was pleased to discover this treasure just a few blocks from her house. Easily walked there and was greeted by the friendly owner and felt right at ease. I stared at the menu for so long because everything seemed amazing and finally settled on the vegetarian Greek omelette. It was huge! Perfectly cooked and came loaded with onions, feta, spinach, mushrooms and crispy potatoes. That plus coffee and toast was only $ 12! One of the top three omelets I’ve had. I was actually making little happy noises as I ate much to the owners amusement. They are open seven days a week and serve breakfast all day along with gyros and other diner/comfort food. The specials for today I noticed were chicken souvlaki and baked chicken spaghetti. They are cash only but in my view everything else totally trumps that. There’s an ATM next door. The décor is quaint and very Greek themed — I found that very comforting in a city so full of exhaustingly hip places that aren’t as welcoming. I will definitely make this a regular stop in Magnolia

They make wonderful breakfast and are very nice people. I strongly believe if they added a couple more tv’s and a couple awesome beers on tap they’d be a destination.

I found myself in Seattle last week and decided to go see Sophie and the gang for breakfast since I had reviewed hem from afar earlier! Same great food. It is always wonderful to be remembered when you come in and hugged when you go! My friend and I got our go to Greek Vegetarian and my other guest got the Mikoleanos(sp) which he devoured. This little business is wonderful and needs the love. It’s got character, filled with characters and just needs to be on your to do list at least once a month.
