Great collection of vintage jackets. If you want a custom leather jacket there is no better place. People around the US order their custom Aero jackets through Insurrection. Being able to pop in the shop and have the people at Insurrection measure you and go over options for the jackets is a huge plus.

I saw their ad on CL and went over to take a look. Tried on a few leathers, all too small. Then the lady pulled out this Vanson CHP jacket. it fit, and has the snap on mouton collar for cold weather riding. It has been down and is abraded but not functionally impaired. It’s made in U.S.A. and a quick perusal of the web told me they were selling it for less than half price of new. I bought it and left with the sense that I’d gotten a top of the line leather for a decent price. It was the only item in the store that fit, and the only thing in there that really appealed, and I looked at everything, so I guess it’s luck of the draw like a lot of vintage/​consignment stores. They’re only open three days a week, and I get the sense it’s more a hobby than a business. Despite the flash and splash of the web site they don’t stock much, seems it’s mostly special order, not off the rack.

I was recommended here by Ride West BMW while looking for a Vanson motorcycle jacket. The shop is small and it looked closed, until I got right up front and realized it was next door that’s closed.
Unfortunately they had just transferred most of their Vanson Motorcycle jackets south for the track season, but the lady was VERY helpful. When I inquired about a specific jacket, she got her son (the moto) guy on the phone and he helped me out. They tracked down the jacket I wanted and called me back the following day.
This place is NOT for the faint of heart. They sell mostly vintage and other high-​end clothing. You will not find any thrift store pricing. But what you will find is GREAT customer service.

Personable and Knowledgable staff! Quality and custom gear. Confident when we leave this store, not everyone on the street will be wearing the same jacket, boots, or western shirt we just bought.

I had been looking for the right motorcycle jacket for about two years now with no luck. I had been everywhere online and too many places in person and still had not found anything remotely resembling what I was looking for. My girlfriend Unilocaled this little shop in Greenwood and suggested we give it a try. Upon entering the place I became very hopeful. It had lots of new and vintage leather jackets in many different styles and sizes. I went to one of the racks and was looking a one jacket that sort of matched what I was looking for when I was approached by a tall gentleman by the name of Wade asking what I was looking for. I explained my desired style to the best of my ability at which point Wade pulled out the exact jacket I had in mind… a 1950’s vintage Harley Davidson motorcycle jacket at exactly the right price. I bought it on the spot and have practically slept with it ever since. I couldn’t be happier with the selection, service and prices of this wonderful treasure of a shop. I will be going back to purchase a jacket for my girl and maybe even one more for myself. Thank you Carrie and Wade for the greatest single piece of clothing I have ever owned hands down. They were very knowledgeable about vintage leather café racer coats. I came into the store with a very very specific request for a coat. I had them look at my photos and help me pick out a great 1960’s leather motorcycle coat. They very excitedly helped me to work on alterations for the coat I picked out. I liked the fact that they said if they didn’t like a particular request from a customer they wouldn’t do it. i like that they take pride in their work and style and wouldn’t just do some corny overlay on a leather jacket if someone was willing to pay big bucks. I felt like i was in good hands when talking with them about the big alterations to my leather coat I bought. i will recommend this place to everyone.

After a rather rambunctious night on the town I found a little seam on the armpit of my jacket had started to go out — I took it back and they’re repairing it at no charge, along with a few more little things that hadn’t gone wrong yet but were looking a little worn. These folks are passionate about taking care of the things they sell.

I only went there because the reviewers mentioned cute dresses. Where? I only saw 2 dresses on the outside sale rack, and none inside. That’s where my interest ended.
I had already checked the website so I knew about the super high prices for their boots and jackets (not that I wanted one). It’s a specialized place, intended for a certain type of shopper, not everyone. If you love vintage Americana clothing (to generalize: anything that goes well with either a badass motorcycle, or a horse) then you’ll be in paradise. I couldn’t in good conscience give it less than 4 stars, just because the place is not for me.

I need a suga mama to afford these prices. =(Any takers?
My quest for an old pair of ACME boots ended here. I had a hunch that would be the case.
The store is easy to find and you can find parking around the block.
The shop is small… very small. I could probably lay down, stretch and touch both walls and I’m not tall.
When you hear «this place is packed wall to wall,» this is the place they are talking about. There are like 3 racks packed with leather jackets and boots from floor to ceiling.
They specialize in ACME Vintage cowboy boots that are to die for. Just kidding. I never talk like that. But the boots are beautiful. «They,» not really them, but they buy and resell vintage boots from as far as the ’40’s. These boots are hard to find and much sought after.
Prices range from 200 to 1000 bucks. DAMN MY GOOD TASTE. All the boots I liked were around 600 bucks! And that’s more like an investment.
The staff is somewhat friendly. The gay doode was funny and helpful, but he wasn’t helping me, and the biker chic was okay. She brought me down a few boots that she thought I would like and answered all my questions.
They also have some sweet jackets, cowboy shirts and accessories.
I wish I could dress as a cowboy everyday, and if I was brave enough to pull that off this would be my hang-​out.
In the meantime I’ll work on saving some money or getting a suga mama for this young buck… still taking applications.

I think it’s awesome that a shop can be so particular in what they carry. They have no qualms about saying they deal in BOOTS, JEANS, JACKETS AND COWBOY SHIRTS! With a few other things, like cute little dresses. Really nice owners and what a great location. Even though I’m not really into boots and cowboy shirts, I always stop in, even to say hi. Gotta support the independent vintage clothing stores.

Insurrection is a really alright store. I found an insanely flattering dress there, and almost want to go back just to buy it in another colour!
It’s quite small. And the majority of what they carry really isn’t to my taste;
1. Short, leather, ‘motorcycle’ jackets. (Which make me look squat and fat.)
2. A 4 yard long rack of ‘vintage’ t-​shirts. (I hardly ever wear t-​shirts unless I’m at home or gardening.)
3. A long, long rack of jeans.
4. Zillions of cowboy boots! (Yuck! Definately NOT to my taste!)
5. A short little rack of frilly vintage blouses. (I didn’t care for any. They were all too shear or gaudy.)
But what really makes going here worth the time…
6. Their collection of dresses! Their selection is simple, charming, and excellent. The designers really stood out as quite lovely to me, and I am fairly picky, so that really is an accomplishment.
(I only am rating this with 4 stars instead of 5 because I can’t stand cowboy boots.)
