Immanuel Lutheran Church

The people here are super friendly and open to everyone. The work they do inside the church as well as the community is top notch. If you’re looking for a new church community to join this is a great place to find it.

New to the Seattle area, this church has been an amazing place to connect with this year. I have found connections between people who also attended Pacific Lutheran University, fellow Lutheran Volunteer Corps volunteers, people who have spent time at Holden Village, and just wonderful people of every age. The sermons and adult forums are very engaging and relevant, the music is fabulous, and the community is very active and inclusive! A wonderful place to worship!

I was going to a suburban church and felt I was missing something. I found it at Immanuel. The people are so friendly — it’s the first church I’ve gone to where I think everyone knows each other. The church really is a community. It lives ministry to others, with many opportunities to get involved helping others. Pastor Susan is a gifted in so many ways. I invite anyone to try it out one Sunday. Come for the beauty of the historic Scandinavian sanctuary alone. And the music. And the people.

I moved to Seattle 5 years ago, after graduating from college, and initially was drawn to Immanuel because it was a great place to get to know people my age, and be a part of a church that does amazing things in the neighborhood. After becoming a member, and getting more involved, Immanuel kept growing on me.
My highlights of Immanuel — great music, wonderful pastor/​theology, and amazing people. One of the core values that speaks volumes for me of this church is «expect God’s love to change us», and through ministry to our neighbors on the streets, the inspirational message from Pastor Susan (and Mary and Dan and Maia), and from the acceptance and love of everyone who attends, my life has benefitted from being shaped and changed by all that happens here. Awesome place.
