I ordered their Fried chicken, Comes with some pickles, a biscuit, and coleslaw. The chicken was a bit over cooked, Not juicy. I am nit-picking their chicken because I got a wing and a drum stick, which is under whelming. I mentioned my disappointment and they were eager to help. I would suggest getting a fried poached egg with what ever you get. Service was great. This dish was a bit disappointing but, I look to trying more of their menu

I got the salmon cakes here for lunch — a bite of salmon in a cornmeal batter and fried. The bites were tender(and hot!) and the cornmeal gave the exterior a good crunch. Portion-sizing was pretty neat — I wouldn’t be stuffed after this meal, but it was about what I’ve gotten from other food trucks. The pickles were a nice balance to the fried salmon bites, I didn’t think they were too special but it’s cool that they make their own pickles. Once vegetables are pickled in the same brine, they all taste about the same, just with different textures.

Three strikes… Have given this food truck a shot three times now at Chuck’s Hop Shop. First time, they were out of $ 9 grilled cheese sandwiches, and all other options had meat. Second, I tried three items — pretzels, fritters, and some kind of salad –stale, dry, bland. Third, gave them one last try and got scolded for coming to their open window 5 minutes before opening time. My advice? Go to Chuck’s but skip the truck.

Ordered The Farmhand and The Smokehouse. The Farmhand is listed as meatloaf on their site, but what I got was pulled pork. This was picked up for me, so I’m not sure if the menu specified pulled pork. But it doesn’t matter, the sandwich was delicious. Made even better by their pickles. I planned on eating a little of both, but the sandwich was so good I ate it all and left most of The Smokehouse for another time. What I did have of the little fried salmon fritters was pretty good, nothing amazing. But I would get them again. The only beef I have is they seem to make«quick pickles»(vinegar). Being a fermented pickle snob, I would prefer the old fashioned variety. But they complemented everything so well that this isn’t a huge deal.

Love these guys! Anytime I see this beautiful truck I know I need to stop. Habanero Mac and Cheese was delicious, cheesy and had a great kick to it. Crab Gazpacho was spot on, and oh that Avocado and Quinoa soup is another one of my faves! Their pickled veggies are a wonderful addition to any dish. PB& J is definitely good. Sorry, haven’t had any of their meat options but I’m sure they can’t make anything wrong. ***Personal Fave: PUTANEGGONIT!!! do not pass on this option. How on earth do they get that egg so perfectly cooked and fried?!

The jalapeño mac and cheese was great, not creamy and definitely spicy. The sriracha hot wings was good, more kick in the sauce

I had the mac and cheese, which had habanero and pulled pork. It wasn’t very cheesy and the pork was a little dry. I thought it was just okay. There were also some pickled carrots, but next time, I want to try their actual pickles(pickled cucumber type pickles!).

I had the fried chicken basket for $ 10. Portions were tiny and the breading was most of the chicken. Biscuit was cold. I actually waited for about 20 minutes as people who ordered the same thing but later than I did happily got their food and left. When I asked where the food was I was told it was coming as if nothing was wrong. Won’t be back.

Went here during the Food Truck Rodeo and got their mac and cheese. There was literally no cheese. The pickled vegetables were good. There was zero cheese in the mac and cheese.

This truck has been stationed at Chuck’s CD Hop Shop on Sunday evenings for at least a few weeks now; this is my first time ordering food from this truck. I got there 15 minutes early, looked at their menu, and came back 40 minutes later, only to find that the two things I was most interested in had«sold out.» Half-hour into a 4-hour shift, no line to speak of… really? So I got the *$ 8* grilled PB&J&Cheese instead… I’m sorry, but… $ 8 for a sandwich with ¼″ bread? You’ve gotta be kidding me. Yeah, it’s tasty, but it’s $ 4 tasty. A thick smear of «homemade,“seedy, jam does not elevate that barely-there bread to an $ 8 sandwich. My partner got the«Seattle Cheesesteak; it was certainly not worth bragging about to anyone in Seattle, on the East Coast, or otherwise. This is another overpriced food truck that needs to get off its high horse. Hopefully Chuck’s will find some better trucks to rotate in.

I haven’t had decent salt cod fritters since the last time I went back to see my Massholes(where they’re called bacalhau). This made me so happy! The tartar sauce didn’t do much for me, but the pickles were yummy. I was so full, I didn’t even have the salad they came on!

I’ve visited How Pickle Got Out of the Jam once. I got the Baby Got Mac – macaroni and cheese toped with shredded short ribbed. It was ok – which was a little disappointing given all the hype. That being said, I plan to going back and trying the cheese steak.

My 1st experience with the truck was trying the Cheesesteak which I felt was a must since I’m a Philly native. The truck’s take on the classic sandwich was DELICIOUS! Do not expect a truck that uses seasonal fare to stock whiz. Come on! This truck’s version was out of this world. Thinly sliced roast beef with picked onions, horseradish aioli, smoked gouda AND apples. APPLES&SMOKEDGOUDA was a great alternative. I can’t wait to try more.

I had the habanero-pork-mac-n-cheese, which came with a sprinkling of green onion slices and a side of pickled carrots and snap peas. The mac n cheese was creamy, but didn’t have much habanero flavor and was only lightly spicy(I’m kind of a freak for spicy food though, so take that with a grain of salt). They used penne, which is kind of a cop out in my opinion — mac n cheese should be made with macaroni! And I’m not a huge meat fan, so the pork — which had a nice texture, alternating between tender and crispy — probably would have had to be amazing for me to get all jumped up about it. There wasn’t much flavor to it. Is that just pork and I don’t know better? Service was nice. I will go back to try something else. I just wasn’t bowled over by my first try.

We intended to check out Bloom in Ballard, but it was closed. We wandered further off Market and 17th Ave NW towards Barnes(close to Swedish-Ballard) and noticed a sign for Food Truk and a mini food pod set up. There was Garden Sushi and How Pickle Got Out of a Jam. While pondering the posted menu for HPGOOAJ, we were offered assorted pickled vegies. Finally, the husband ordered the five cheese/habanero mac and cheese with pulled pork and pickled vegies($ 8.50) and I selected the 12 ounce soup($ 6). The soup hit the spot on a breezy day — white bean, kale, and merguez sausage. Perfect and very flavorful. I declined on the grilled bread, but husband tried out a sample of the hot apple cider while we were waiting. We ended up eating in our car, but it was good to see at least more folks lined up outside the food truck window when we drove past. Very friendly owner and a newbie to the food truck circuit. He’s at this mini food pod location, also at South Lake Union, and will be at the upcoming Food Truck Rodeo at the Fremont Sunday Market on 11÷17÷13. I’d recommend checking out their website regarding their actual whereabouts. An excellent food truck find!

Got the pork shoulder lettuce wraps, which are quite delicious. The blackberry glaze was a tad bit too sweet for me, but still works really well. Fairly decent portion size for the price(3 small wraps for 8.50). The thing also came with some carrots that had possibly been pickled in some very interesting spiced concoction. Another valuable lunch addition to the food truck scene in Seattle. They show up on Wednesdays @ SLU on Harrison East of Boren, but that is obviously subject to change.
