Holiday Inn Express & Suites Seattle-City Center

A really exceptional stay at the Holiday Inn Express City Center. We booked the room with reward points and chose one that was pretty basic. Upon check-​in, I was informed that we were upgraded to a king suite with a jacuzzi tub and kitchenette– thanks, rewards program! The room was much bigger than we were expecting even being a «suite» and the view of the space needle was fantastic.
The location is a little isolated– it has a divided road that makes so you have to walk a bit to find a crosswalk, and there’s only the restaurant in the hotel next door for quick food, but if you can get across the street, there’s a ton of options right under the space needle!

Our stay here was lovely. The staff was super friendly. The location was perfect for site seeing. We used urber and walked to get around. The breakfast was a good start to the day. They had pancakes ands lots of healthy choices like bananas, apples, yogurt and hard boiled eggs. We were in room 640 and it had a great view of the space needle. The spa tub was relaxing after being out all day. We would stay here again.

I just stayed here for two nights and overall this is one of the lower quality Holiday Inn that I’ve stayed in. I only stay in Holiday Inns because the beds and pillows are the best for me. With that in mind, I booked this hotel for myself and my family.
1) The location is just fine and is close to Pike Market. I’m sure if you want to walk down there it would be just fine.
2) The rooms need updating. They are clean but that’s about where it stops. The shower was good, but there appears to have been mold on the wallpaper above the shower walls. I believe that this is from the lack of a bathroom fan. All that moisture just holds in those tiny bathroom areas.
3) The HVAC unit in the rooms are old as well. I’m sure most people don’t turn on the AC when it’s only 45 degrees outside but with 4 people sleeping in the room it got hot fast! I tried to turn the air on but only the heat worked. I didn’t contact management because I assumed they just disabled the air for the winter.
4) The continental breakfast is the standard breakfast in all HIE properties and that’s just fine with me. It’s safe.
5) The Wifi is annoying. It continued to drop my log in and I had to repeatedly log back in several times during my two night stay.
I’ve stayed at about 10 different Holiday Inn properties in the last year and I can honestly say that this one is the one in most need of updating. The décor is dated and old and showing signs of it’s age.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! First of all, I never write reviews so me taking the time to do this says a lot in itself! First of all the elevator is not safe! It literally dropped 4 inches after it was stopped and we were getting out. It takes 5 minutes to go 6 floors and it creaks the whole way! Our non smoking room smelled like smoke and perfume! The WiFi does NOT work!!! I called the front desk and they told me the only way they could help me was if I went down and gave them my phone. Uuh no thanks. Then this morning at 9am a house keeper Walked in our room! Knocked once and Walked in! At 9am! Check out Is at noon! I called the front desk and he said this is normal here. They knock once and walk in! He said it’s to make sure people haven’t left without checking out at the front desk. That would be totally understandable if it were 1130 or 12!

We were upgraded to a really nice suite pretty much just because and we loved the view of the Space Needle from our room. The pillows and beds were super fluffy too :)
We loved the breakfast. I was especially fascinatd by the pancake maker– just push a button and out comes a perfect round little pancake. I wish the turkey sausages had looked a little less gray but the Greek yogurt and bagels and English muffins and yummy juice more than compensated for it. The staff in the breakfast room was excellent and went out of their way to assist us by promptly getting us more pancake mix when the machine was low. Very clean breakfast room as well. Thanks!

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights while vacationing in Seattle this past week. With downtown prices being, well, downtown prices (expensive), we found the Holiday Inn Express to be the best price we could find, if you want to stay in the city. It is located pretty much smack dab in the center of it all. The Space Needle is a quick walk at less than 10 minutes. Pike Place Market is about a 15 – 20 minute walk (depending on what route you take or how fast you walk). Good thing is, there are other business to patronize during your walk and PLENTY of Starbucks (there are plenty of other coffee shops too, if you’re anti-​Starbucks).
Cost for parking at Holiday Inn Express is also the cheapest you will find in this area at $ 15 a night. You just can’t beat that. They have a small number of spots outside and an underground parking garage that is secured by a metal gate (you need to use your room key in order to get into the parking garage).
You also can’t beat the continental breakfast included for no extra charge. My wife and I made sure to fill our bellies each morning, before setting out into the city. It’s nice to be able to wake up and not have to find (and pay for!) a place to eat breakfast. My wife is the type of person who is practically starving the moment she wakes up. She. MUST. EAT! So, this was perfect. Not having to worry about running out in the morning, especially not knowing the area. They have 4 types of cereal (fruit loops, raisin bran, granola and special K red berry), bread, bagels, etc. Oatmeal, eggs, sausage (one day we were there they had ham instead of sausage, which I rather enjoyed since I’m not a sausage fan), bacon… the meats change from day to day it seems. They also have a pancake maker that makes two pancakes in one minute! They also have fruit (apples and bananas), coffee (that’s a no-​brainer), milk, orange/​apple/​cranberry juice, yogurt. Plenty of options for most anyone. In order to get into the room they have breakfast in, you need to use your room key as the door is locked (the door is mostly glass, so you can see into the breakfast room).
Our ONLY gripe would be the carpet; it was disgusting. All of the carpeting (down the hallways and in our room) was filled with stains. Even though it was darker carpeting, the stains were very noticeable. So, we just kept our socks on when in our room. Oh, and the bathroom setup was kind of strange; the bathroom sink/​mirror was located outside of the bathroom. The bathroom was very small and had just the toilet and shower. No fan in there either, so it got quite moist and humid while showering. But that was no biggy. I just thought I’d point it out.
All of the employees were super kind and very helpful at assisting us in getting to and fro around the city.
If we stayed in Seattle again, we would not hesitate to stay here again. Oh, but one caveat: if you get a room that is located on the side Aurora Ave. is on, be prepared for a noisy night. When we checked in, the woman told us she put us on the quiet side of the hotel, and told us that Aurora Ave. is loud. Another woman staying across from us was asking about our room, (if it was loud at night) and expressed that it was very loud at night on her side. We were fine though, being situated on the non-​Aurora Ave. side of the hotel. So keep that in mind.
All in all, Holiday Inn Express is the best value you can get for your money if you want to remain in the heart of it all.

Standard HIE continental breakfast, but this location has a large dining room, the biggest I’ve ever seen in a hotel, and it was near full every single morning. There’s a spacious lobby with ample couches and chairs for waiting on folks, and a few spots of parking right outside the door, in addition to the garage. The latter of which is definitely paid, unsure about the former.
The rooms are dated, but nice, clean, and large. The noise was not too bad between rooms and in the hallway, but the real noise came from outside. I was on the third floor on the Aurora Avenue sign and holy cow. I have literally never heard noise so bad in a hotel. I thought the window was open at first… but it wasn’t. I got earplugs and downloaded a white noise app to help me fall asleep.
Whatever you do: request a room that’s not on Aurora Ave.
The room service is only available for dinner since it’s provided by Emerald Grill next door (which is good– see review there), there’s only a few items in the sundries store, and no super super close convenience store or restaurant other than the Emerald Grill, so it did feel a little bit like a food desert compared to what you’d expect for a downtown area.
I’d probably choose somewhere else if I could next time I’m in Seattle overall due to the noise and food/​location issues.

Not what you’d expect from Holiday Inn. Friendly, courteous staff. Clean, bright and comfy rooms with wifi! Within walking distance to major attractions like the Sky Needle and EMP. And the free breakfast featured everything from toast, muffins, bacon and eggs, to pancakes, fresh fruit, yogurt and hard boiled eggs. My family truly enjoyed our visit and I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Nice place. Nice staff. Good continental breakfast! Close to everything and the most reasonable price (for downtown Seattle) that we could find! You won’t be disappointed while chillin at this Holiday Inn!

They are working hard at trying to make a very old building better. Service was good and the value of stay was reasonable

Checked in went to my room and had to change rooms because of the overwhelming smell of mildew.
Now in another room but still smells. I appears that the entire hotel smells of mold and mildew.

A great, clean and family-​friendly hotel with huge rooms in a pretty convenient location (walking distance to the Space Needle and attractions nearby). We went there with our 18-​month old daughter, and really enjoyed our stay there. They have a shuttle service that goes anywhere within a 1-​mile radius, which covers the Pike Place Market and subway station where you take the trains to the airport. Such a great service for parents traveling with a toddler. Because of that we didn’t have to travel with a bulky convertible car seat and/​or deal with car rentals.
Their breakfast is decent as well. Another plus. Because of this experience, Holiday Inn Express has become one of top choices of hotels whenever we travel.

My stay at the holiday Inn City Center while short was a pleasant one. The rooms were what you would expect from the newer Holiday Inn Express line, large and well kept. The front desk girl was very sweet and accommodating to my needs. I had a great view of the space needle and was convenient to everything. I didn’t venture out much around the hotel, it looked like it could be mildly sketchy at night, but I can neither confirm nor deny such a feeling as I was with friends elsewhere all night. All that being said, while I would probably look for Another hotel if I traveled on business I wouldn’t be afraid or sad to stay here again.

This place was kind of underwhelming, but for the cost, I guess you get what you pay for. It takes forever to get service at the front desk and the internet was down for two days when we arrived, so it was really difficult for me to get my work done. The location is less than ideal for walking to the places we were going, but we figured it out. It’s still plenty walkable to Belltown and local landmarks, just not a pedestrian haven. I wouldn’t return, but it was far from the worst hotel experience I’ve had.

This place is definitely A-​OK. Our family of four stayed in a double room in June. The room was average sized and ok for 2 adults and 2 teens for 3 days. No complaints about the cleanliness or the noise. The rate was reasonable and the location close to UW and Safeco field. It is a 10 min walk to get to the Space Needle and Chihuly Gardens. There was a lot of construction going on in the area making driving and walking not so pretty. This is a small hotel and sits next to the Holiday Inn making the tiny, tiny parking lot a little confusing. Didn’t find a lot of eateries nearby, but there is a McDonalds by Space Needle and Pagliaccis has great pizza for delivery.
There is a small indoor pool and a little «convenience store» set up in the lobby. If you walk down Denny st you will come to a Walgreens a couple of blocks away.
The employees are very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the touristy things. They get 4 stars…

Ellen at the check in desk was awesome. Problem finding my reservations I had made online but she ended up finding it and have us free parking for our stay. When we got upstairs there was a man in our room. Said he was waiting for his taxi and fell asleep. Hotel management moved us to the room next door. Didn’t offer us anything to make up for it. Was not really pleased. Had just drove 6+ hours with a 3 year old and 1 month old. Was really looking forward to to getting into our room quickly, which didn’t happen. Was informed I was getting a «suite» but when we got into the room it was just your basic hotel room with two queen beds. Hotel was clean and had a great breakfast. Would not recommend to anyone and will never stay again.

booked the Hotel as all other Hotels were not available. Direct located at the Space Needle and the very busy Denny Way (crowded road, very noisy 24h). There is a high chance to get a room with a beautiful «wall view», or the loud before mentioned street…
Hotel is pretty old styled and my room was looking since years for a refurbishment. Rates during peak season do not correlate to quality at all…
positive is the very friendly staff and downtown location.

For what this hotel is, I give it a solid 4 — 4 ½ stars. The only reason I take off a little is because Seattle City Center is in the name, however, it’s not exactly at City Center. A tad misleading because there is a freeway between the two.
Our room was very nice… great amenities, clean room and comfortable beds. The morning breakfast was perfect for us. It has a nice variety of cereals, breads, fruits, juices and warm items that kept the 4 of us full and very happy during our stay. The indoor pool is clean and nice and every employee we encountered was great!

Super convenient spot in downtown Seattle with free breakfast. It was kind of on the pricey side for the quality of the hotel, but we knew we were paying for the location. Staff was very nice, however, and if you’re visiting without a car, this is worth checking out.

We stayed here for 3 nights on a recent trip to Seattle. i picked this place because it was a couple blocks from the space needle. I had reserved a suite online.
When we checked in i asked if the suite had a view of the space needle, girl checking us in said all the suites do. When we got to the room… Wrong! we had a view of the rooms across the courtyard. I went down and asked if we could please change rooms so we could have one with a view… kinda what they promised us. OMG… it was like I asked for someone to donate an organ. After approx 45 minutes someone else came out and we finally changed rooms
Went into a smaller room, with a view… it was a nice room, clean, lots of traffic noise though. And only 10 bucks a night cheaper… than a suite? Oh well…
The area is NOT as advertised on the web site… not at the city center. not much to see walking around… only restaurant close is the hotels… which was nice, no complaints…
it was an Ok place i guess… free breakfast and all that… I just didn’t feel i got my money’s worth… something was missing. Planning on doing Seattle again next year… will find a different place to stay, live and learn

Zum Übernachten für einpaar Tage okay. Bei längerem Aufenthalt würde ich doch ein anderes Hotel suchen.
