Tried the sushi, which was VERY decently priced. Then was completely blown away with how huge the pieces were, and how tasty! We had several orders but everything was made quickly and tasted great.

Perfect for: quick lunch take out, picnic, kid’s dinner. I ordered menchi curry(deep-fried croquette with ground beef on top of curry rice). Perfectly fried and the portion is great. The curry was tasty, not too spicy. They also have a great takoyaki as a side. Delicious and quick!

Excellent food and amazing prices. Parking can sometimes be a challenge but there is street parking, maybe just not directly in front of the place. Stopped there to get lunch for co-workers and none of them were disappointed by the food. Everyone tried something different — chicken teriyaki, tempura, gyudon, oyakodon and chicken katsu curry and none of them were over $ 10 and everyone was completely satisfied with their meal.

The Ton Katsu(fried pork cutlet) beef curry is so freakin’ good. I was introduced to Japanese curry in San Francisco at Muracci’s and also JapaCurry, both amazing spots to eat. So when I moved back to Seattle, I was looking for a new spot because a) my homemade curry just wasn’t cutting it anymore(sometimes you don’t want to deal with the time and mess of frying meat) and b) I wanted to taste a Seattle version of a great dish. This place does it differently than I’ve previously had, but in a great way. The little chunks of beef(and beef fat!) add some really great textural contrast. There is just the slightest bit of heat in this dish, the perfect amount. And their rice(oftentimes overlooked) is perfectly cooked. Silky smooth, but sticky enough that it can handle itself between chopsticks under a large portion of meat gravy. Mmmmm. Meat gravy. It’s served with a side salad and some picked daikons, making for a well rounded lunch portion for nine dollars and change. Anyway, I’ll definitely be coming back here for the other dishes, but this one really shines.

Great place for Japanese takeout with a lot of options, reasonable prices and fast service. Try the chirashi bowl or one of their specials, such as the garlic shrimp. My only gripe is that the hours aren’t too convenient for dinner(6 pm closing time).

5 stars off the bat just for the curry. Has melt in your mouth flakes of beef in it. 4 star chirashi bowl. Good size, great selection. Comes with avocado which I’m allergic too so have to ask for no avocado :(. No yellow tail in the one I had, just a heads up for yellow tail lovers. Take out only, but they package everything really well. Will be my new go to for Japanese food in the neighborhood.

There he was at Safeco Field near the All Star Museum! Hiroshi’s was a beloved Eastlake Japanese restaurant for many years. And now he has a gig during the baseball game! Heaven! I’m no food snob, but his sushi is the best I’ve had. Can’t believe I’m touting stadium food, but Hiroshi’s anywhere is excellent!

I typically get lunch from here 3 – 4 times per week. They have decent teriyaki chicken. Sometimes they only give you a little bit but most times it’s pretty good. Luckily it’s very close to my office so an easy walk over. Their sukiyaki is quite good also with lots of beef. The sushi has way too much rice. It’s been mentioned to them previously but they don’t change it. Pretty good.

This is a take out place. We order from them at least once a week. They use to be on Eastlake. Needless to say Beacon Hill needed a Japanese place. For take out they are pretty good. Good portions. Friendly staff. When I call in my order it is ready for pick up at the time I state. I guess they are fairly busy. They don’t even have a big sign up to advertise they are there. All their business at this time has been word of mouth.

Take away, affordably priced sushi and other Japanese favorites on beHi, YES! My hubby and I took away a loaded sack of deliciousness for about 30 bucks. We gorged on Goya, chicken Katsu, egg rolls, octopus appetizer, sushi rolls and had left overs. Will be back! Only downside is ya better get home quickly from work as it closes at 6, really should stay open till at least 6:30. It’s hard to get here in time! Catering trays look well priced and constructed as well.

Not good at all. Good enough to fool fake Japanese food lovers who think they know, but not good to satisfy people whom eaten real cuisine. Native Japanese owner doesn’t mean they know the best, cause food doesn’t tastes good enough to be able to beat uwajimaya or maruta bento. Ex: too much baking powder on tempra batter that real tempra chef doesn’t use baking powder, yakisoba is just used maruchan like manufactured noodle and powder sauce right off from the package, not original at all. Very disappointed.

Had California Roll, Eel roll and deep fried spring rolls. Super fast and friendly. Literally like fifteen mins or less I was back home with my take out order. The only thing that was kinda is hard to decipher was their menu set up when you arrive to order. Various menus for the options that are on their board and not on their board and posted specials. Food was good and my partner liked it, he’s picky about sushi.

Hiroshi San is very best in Japanese catering. Bought 3 platters for an anniversary party for our niece. Quality and fresh product made to order. They have this new kitchen set up After closing the Eastlake restaurant. They also offer Other lunch and to go menu daily.

I go here once every other week or so. The food is good and the price is fair. The reason I am not rating 5 stars is because well I am a fan of fresh sushi and sashimi. I do love their udon and sukiyaki though. If you are ever in the north beacon hill neighborhood drop by and give them a try.

Hit the chirashi today. Salmon had so much gristle or whatever that’s called that I couldn’t even eat it all. Never happened to me before at a sushi place. Not enough soy sauce for chirashi, and no special sauce. Fake crab with chirashi, no me gusta. Counter staff asked same questions various times, was a little pushy about out indecisiveness. Otherwise nice. Great inari, Miso. Mushrooms on chirashi really nummy Washington roll still nums. Chirashi fish did not seem super fresh, almost as if it were pre-made. Overall still psyched to have sushi on the hill. I will go back.

What a surprise gem to find on Beacon Hill. It is tough to find good Japanese food much less good tempura and Hiroshi’s has both and only 7 minutes from my house. In the past I would have to travel to the Eastside or Belltown to get decent Japanese food. As other reviewers remarked, the deli does not have any seating for in-store dining nor is there any off street parking. The lack of in store dining is a negative when dealing with deep fried items such as tempura since they would hold up better without the extra moisture of being in a box. We also tried the chicken katsu kare and the curry was terrific. Perfectly seasoned and great texture. It was as good as some of the katsu kare I had had when I visited Tokyo. The side salad was very fresh and crisp which is a high mark on the freshness of all the ingredients used. Interesting selection of sodas from Japan — Ramune, Melon soda, canned teas as well as coke. Pricing was perfect for the generous serving sizes and quality of food. We plan on visiting often to try other dishes.

Wonderful BHill addition! Came in almost closing and checked it out… The Japanese lady up front is quite friendly. The space seems too harsh with white lighting and white walls ‘n such but it turns out alright. Some familiar/typical Asian décor items around. The fridge has unique non-alc drinks not often found in delis, cafes and restaurants around here. I peered over the menu, asked for advice from the lady and settled on the Chirashi. «No utensils or napkins.» (If ordering to go, I’ve been working on cutting down the unnecessary waste with utensils if I’m just going to use mine at home, etc). And back at home, this was good stuff. I think it came with Chef’s special and I did want to try it: –Some fish I forgot; interesting texture and ate. –Salmon; always nice and ate. –Octopus; first time not fried; it was too bland and chewy for me and passed. –Eel(?); this was the sliced brown-ish stuff and passed. –Rice bed, ginger, wasabi and ate most of it. If you see an item with«Chef’s Special», try asking what the day’s lineup might be and you may get the selection. I’ll need to return and try others.

Super excited that Hiroshi’s Catering joined Beacon Hill. Pros: Chirashi bowl for $ 15 The prices are good/but close at 6pm. Seahawks fan and pictures on the wall with the players! 12th man flag. They have assortment of food including teriyaki, katsu, salads, yakisoba and fresh sushi. You can use credit card or cash. Great value for the price and I will forgive any customer service due to being new. Cons: No sit down only take-out or catering No diet soda or diet drinks or fountain drinks. You can see the owner preparing the sushi or the other chef cooking the food not sure if it is a good thing or bad through from front when ordering. No parking lot, have to find street parking which is very limited. No sushi bar. No pictures so you better know what you want. Not great customer service up front. I like to support my local businesses, and I welcome Hiroshi’s to the neighborhood. They aren’t the best at sushi and best Chirashi bowl but still great value at $ 15 and California rolls for $ 5. Do give them a try if you love Japanese food.

After a few attempts over the holidays we managed to get there on a day and time when they were open. They are now taking credit cards. I would bump my rating up to 5 if it were easier to find a time when they are open to fit my schedule — M-F 11am-6pm doesn’t allow many chances for me to visit. We got $ 7 Chicken Katsu(breaded chicken with white rice and Tonkatsu/Steak Sauce with green salad), $ 7 Oyako Don(chicken with pan fried onions, steamed egg and a light delicious sauce over white rice), and several sushi rolls($ 4 to $ 6 per roll). It was more than enough for 3 people and the quality was very good. Everything was made to order so there was a bit of a wait due to the items we ordered but it was worth it as the cooked items were hot and delicious. Several customers came through while we were there and the night before they were preparing a huge catering order when we tried to visit. It is clear that they had a successful following at their former location so I hope to see them thrive here on Beacon Hill. They offer a great new addition to the existing mix of food-types available on the hill. I only hope folks can talk them(and the sandwich shop next door) into staying open till 7pm instead of 6pm to better serve those who live on the hill and would like to take something home after work for dinner.

Hiroshi opened a take-out place on Beacon Hill. Same great food from the restaurant and at a very good price. I love his salad dressing! Warning, they’re only open during the week and cash only!

take out chirashi! not superstar fish, but a big honking plate of chirashi for $ 15? i think it’s quite the bargain. i used to go there when it was on eastlake. i hated that little tiny parking lot by the laundromat, so i think this is an improvement. i’ll have to come back and try some other action. because that’s what action is for.
