I have been living at the Hawthorne apartments for the last 8 months. The staff is awesome and will take care of any requests that you have. The location is perfect, right on the border between Capital Hill and Downtown, so you get the best of both worlds. Plenty of things within walking distance and parking available and super easy to use. It is expensive, but you pay for what you get with laundry in the units, personal balconys and plenty of space for a studio.

I’ve lived in a one-​bedroom apartment in The Hawthorne for nearly two years and have no regrets. The apartments are well laid-​out with plenty of counterspace in the kitchen. I don’t have a car, so the location is very nice — there’s a Pronto bike share station outside, and multiple bus stops within a block. The 545 and Microsoft Connector stops are especially close. There’s also a locked bike storage room along with a quick-​access bike rack in the parking garage. Noise hasn’t been a problem, although you have the gentle whooshing of cars moving along Bellevue Ave plus the usual fire sirens along Pine. Building management is top-​notch, delivering packages and quickly responding to any concerns or maintenance requests. My apartment has heating but no air conditioning and can be a bit stuffy in the summer since it gets sunlight for most of the day (a nice feature in the winter). Balcony is great for growing plants. I recommend living here.

This place is great! The location is unbelievable with so many destinations within walking distance or you can hop on I-​5 easily. We live in a studio and the high ceilings and floor plan makes the studio feel so much larger than it is. The kitchen is HUGE! There is plenty of counter and storage space and this was a big selling point for us as my wife loves to cook. The building is very quiet and there is a diverse population including a number of furry ones. We are very happy with Hawthorne and are now in our second lease. We would recommend Hawthorne Apartments.

I’ve lived in Hawthorne for over two years, and have been extremely happy with my experience. The price is more reasonable than competitive apartments in Capitol Hill, and the location is amazing (especially if you plan to depend heavily on public transportation). This is a great building for commuting to Microsoft (very close to both the 545 and Connector stops). The only negative for me is that there is no roof deck or gym. Overall, I’d highly recommend!

Good location, but don’t expect great service, especially when there is anything going wrong. Services are limited, and there is always reasons if they can’t fix any issue.

Good apartment, good location. I hate how many bums hang out near the entrance to the apartment building, but the management seems to try to keep them away.
The building is well maintained, we haven’t had anything break, so I haven’t tested their maintenance response. Its a bit expensive, compared to what else is available.
