Harborview Medical Center

Charges 242 $ «facility fee». What a joke. I went to see a doctor and she charged my insurance then harborview charged a 242 $ fee for sitting in their facility. I had «silver» insurance which apparently still isn’t good enough to cover this absurd fee.
If you go to this hospital, be prepared to be treated like a piece of crap. I asked multiple times beforehand «how much is the facility fee», «Sorry sir, I can’t provide that information». I never would’ve gone here if I had known I’d get a hidden fee from them 8 MONTHS after I saw the doctor.

Worst medical facility we’ve ever visited. They treated us poorly and misdiagnosed my wife. If your injured and can make the extra trip to any where else, you’ll thank me later. The nurses treated everyone as a drug seeker

Still mad about the wait but when I heard the words negative I feel a lot better.

staff always incredibly kind and caring, never had a bad experience in the years i’ve been coming here.

They provided a wonderful service for our 15 month old son!
From ER to burn unit, every single person who worked on my son was extremely nice and tried to make it fun for him.
The follow up appointment went really nice and smooth as well and again, everybody was extremely nice!
They even sent us mails saying how much they had claimed to our insurance company.
I would also like to let ppl know that Harborview is the only hospital which has a burn unit in northwest

1. As a patient
Came here for a ct scan. The first nurse could not get my IV in and stuck me multiple times before calling a different nurse to do it. The first nurse seemed inexperienced and nervous but the second one was good. The guy who did the scan was pretty great. After the scan they started to lead me out and I assumed that on the way we’d stop to remove the IV port, but they took me all the way to checkout and I had to remind them it was still in there.
2. As the ride for another patient
They got him in a little late but not too bad. The nurse that came to get him would not address me directly — it’s strange to have a nurse ask someone else questions about you (and me not being the patient, so not like I was incapacitated) when you’re sitting right there (I know my own phone number, guy. My name too!)
3. As a patron of the café
Well, I’m here, I’m waiting, so I may as well sample that delicacy known as hospital café food. The coffee was actually not bad. Not great, but fresh and hot. I was pleasantly surprised. The bagel was ok too. I have certainly had worse.
Overall
Harborview is not the most amazing medical center I’ve ever been to in terms of bedside manner, but it’s fine. I’m sure the staff is overworked and busy. They seem perfectly competent. But they might forget your IV, or ask your boyfriend for your name instead of asking you directly.

My dad has appoinment nov 2 and now dec 21, at 3:20pm, but always have been waiting 30 minutes

The only thing that was good from my second hospitalization in 2009 was I that I got put on much stronger anxiety suppressors other than that I was treated like crap from patients and nurses and doctors talking crap about me in code speak and made me miserable. I’ll never go back to that evil Illuminati run hellhole ever again. Heartless dirt bags with subhuman staff and doctors and nurses.

I am impressed! Wait time was pretty short, doctors were very attentive and they even called me 2 days later to see how I am doing. My PCP does not even do that.

Highly recommend. Great, clean, quick and knowledgeable hospital. Staff does a phenomenal job at helping people. One of the best places to be at!

I don’t usually do this (write reviews)… And I have been to this hospital countless times for other individuals in the past. It shouldn’t take 2 hours to fill a prescription especially for a pregnant woman! The pharmacy tech is reading and rereading the prescription given BY a medical doctor in the same facility! Just wondering when the pharmacy tech became an M.D.?? I understand they want what’s safe for the child although it is not up to the pharmacy to make that decision the decision was made by a Harborview medical doctor! If the tech wanted to become a M.D. maybe she should have stayed a few extra years in college!!! Can you fill our prescription please and thank you?!

I came in for an appointment at the women’s medical clinic. Somethings had gotten mixed up with my insurance company and I was feeling a little frustrated, but dealing with davalyn at the front desk was a pleasure and Tai, my nurse, sat with me through the process of finding out who and what was covered. I left without seeing anyone but scheduled a new appointment. Thanks to these two kind ladies for being patient and compassionate.
The minus one star is because parking is a disaster here.

I have been sitting in the orthopedic center trying to get my foot looked at being the type of person my father told me to be I got here at 11:45 15 minutes early for my appointment. After filling out my paperwork I sat… and sat 12:15 then 12:30 then 12:45 then 1:00 then 1:15 someone came and took me finally out of the waiting room into a room I have been here since 1:15pm 1:30 now moving forward its 1:45 now no one has come and asked me anything and it’s 2:24 to see Dr. Steven Benierske. I feel so sorry for anyone here who is missing time for paid work. It is now 2:45 and still nothing has happened. I never ever complain about anything my wife works here at Harborview so I feel bad but if this was anyone else I am sure they would have left this horrible place already I am going to stand my ground so I never have to return to this horrible place ever again. p. s it is now 2:51 no sign of anything.

I came in as an injured 45 yr old male with a medical concern and was treated like a wayward child… by tracy susan tylee MD. I asked one challenging question and miss tylee got so angry and turned red that the appointment I waited a month for was essentially over. didnt ask me questions about my previous blood work… it was the oddest expience.
Yet in her vast intelligence she asked a bearded man“how often do you shave”…stunned; I left.

Rating the family medical clinic on 401 Broadway. Receptionists couldn’t even tell me how much an office visit cost, long wait just to see the doctor for 3 minutes. She didn’t seem willing to look into my medical concern as much as I wish she would’ve. Won’t be coming back here.

Love these docs who care to make me better.
My pain doctor who is an anesthesiologist figured out what my issue was and is aggressively fixing it. Dr. Stogizca is my far one of the best physicians I’ve ever met. She’s just a phenomenal person snd doctor !

As a patient with a very complex medical condition, I can honestly say this place is a lifesaver. I’ve been here 2 – 3 times since moving to the PNW, and both the doctors and nurses are angels sent from heaven. They are experts in healthcare, and truly care about every single patient. I highly recommend HMC!
My father was a med student at HMC way back in the day too, so I may or may not have a bit of a personal bias as well, haha! Personal biases aside, HMC rocks! :)

Ahhhhh to live after being in a horrible accident. These guys save lives;)
Top notch staff.
There is no place I would rather go if I had to be fixed up like humpty dumpy falling down the back side of whistler on a dry summer day with all of the exposed and spiky boulders.

You know the old cliché about not judging a book by it’s cover? The same should be said about hospitals. From the outside, Harborview Medical Center looks like a run of the mill, if not slightly broken down, building. However, once you get inside the staff makes it seem like the building is made of solid gold.
A great friend was in for surgery after breaking her ankle, and the staff couldn’t have been nicer. She threw a clot during surgery, and the medical staff was by every hour or so to make sure there weren’t any further complications. Top notch all the way around.
While I’m hoping I don’t have to return to Harborview Medical Center in the near future, I know if I have to, I’ll be well taken care of!

Came in to the ER to be with a friend. The information desk was really accomodating, as he even walked me back to where my friend was vs. just giving me directions.
The nurse and the doctor that worked with my friend were both professional and kind.
The campus is huge. I got a bit lost when I was parking my car and finding the right entrance. If you can, plan ahead for finding your way around. Security obliged in helping me when I got a bit turned around.
