Hansen Bros. Moving & Storage

I’ve moved twice in the last 12 months and both times Hansen Bros did a great job. From the first phone call, to the crew that did the actual move, everyone was wonderful to work with. The crew arrived on time, they worked neatly and quickly, all my stuff arrived safely and they set them up exactly where I wanted. They were even very accommodating when I changed my mind a couple of times and had them reshuffle some of the furniture. Hopefully I won’t be moving again for a while but if I did, I would definitely use Hansen Bros again!

I returned to Hansen Brothers for my second move because I had such a great experience with them last year. I am pleased to report that once again, their crew did a terrific job. Caring, courteous, professional… All my contents were delivered on time and under budget. If you’re trying to make a decision on who to hire, by all means give them a call. From start to finish, all employees will take good care of you.

Responsive, good service, and quality work. A little mis-​communication in trying to set up a free in-​home estimate, but it all worked out. They were able to schedule a big pack, move and storage job with only 5 days notice. The price was pretty competitive, but they were very transparent and up-​front with cost estimates. I’d use them again.

Had household items in storage for 15 years. Paid on time every month plus carried their insurance for total replacement in case of any damage. They did not wrap or properly store an oak hall tree; it was extremely filthy, had a crack down the middle of it, chipped corners and one wood arm completely broken off. According to the terms of the Insurance, it should have been replaced. Hansen, first, delayed the process by wanting to repair it (w/​o any warranty) and with needless inspections. Now they are just ignoring it all together and hope the problem goes away — even though they admit fault. I paid $ 30 to $ 50 each month for 15 years for insurance. NOT RIGHT nor a good way to treat a long term good customer.

Fantastic move! The service we received was second to none. Brendan, Dallas & Will were extraordinary and the finest movers we’ve ever encountered. Completely professional and courteous. I loved everyone — the salesman Dave and the movers Aaron and Jacob. Dave suggested Frogboxes, which I had never heard of which saved me enormous time and effort. The movers couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful. I have always recommended you to my clients because of your stellar reputation. This was the first time for me to experience what you have to offer, and I can tell you your people are head and shoulders above the rest in the industry.

The movers were the best. Kenny, John, Sunny, and Kevin worked tirelessly for two days straight. They were all very friendly and they made what would have been a very painful move a great move. They have very competitive pricing and awesome employees! I would definitely use them again.

Excellent service in a local move into storage. The crew was careful, considerate, prompt and cheerful. Maybe there are cheaper services out there but I’d prefer to have it done right!

I haven’t had great experiences with moving companies in the past, but everyone at Hansen exceeded my expectations. Bruce Crabtree, who set up my move, got back to me quickly every time I contacted him and answered all my questions. And the crew that came to my home to move my things were friendly, polite and extremely careful. Nothing was broken or damaged.

Extremely happy with the local move from Hansen Bros. The crew was professional and fast! Completed the move in less than the estimated time even when dealing with the 3-​story move in my walk-​up apartment. From start to finish the entire Hansen Bros. team went above and beyond!

We have used Hansen Brothers for three moves, the last one moving from Seattle to Arizona. Everything arrived in perfect condition. Furniture was set up and positioned correctly. Hansen Brothers worked with us every step of the way. Everything arrived within the estimated range of time and according to our directions. Pricing was excellent. Moved our golf cart also!

EXPENSIVE and poor customer service! I recently moved out of their storage facility in Lynwood, on their bid to do the move the warehouse fee was $ 136, to do it my self or with another company it was $ 245. That’s after six months of storage at over $ 300 /​month. I get their a business, but they made their profit on storage, no need to gouge. THEN after moving out I just had an over $ 300 surprise monthly storage fee! They didn’t close the account properly. Looks like I’ll get the return, but not decent business management. I’ve had better moves in past with Bekins or Grays.

I was really pleased. Hansen Brothers coordinated the move of furniture from a Ballard storage locker to Allied, which then stored the furniture in Florida for delivery there at a later date. Hansen Brothers did a great job of coordinating with me in Seattle, with Allied, and with my mother in Florida and getting this all done exactly on time. The crew in Seattle did a very impressive job of wrapping a valuable buffet for transit.
I also appreciated the estimator’s advice about repacking some china in smaller boxes! That spared us a lot of grief.

I will definitely go through Hansen Brothers on my next move and will recommend them to others. I had all new heavy furniture. They were very clean and professional. They worked very hard, but kept a smile on their faces. The movers needed to bring my furniture a flight of stairs and back up another at my new residence. They took them apart and put them together. Had an anxiety — free experience with Hansen Brothers! They were on time, professional, and hard workers. The gentleman who worked with me and determined the estimate for the job was great. Very patient when asked the same question twice, and when I called him back 3 times with more (stupid) questions!
It was a very good experience and I heartily recommend them.

Same day intrastate move. Prompt arrival at appointed time. Loaded my furniture as if they owned the items. Arrived at destination at the estimated time. Unloaded all my furniture with care without damage to the furniture or my new condo. I have a very heavy, very large armoire which they handled so well without damage to it or the walls. I love ‘em to bits, would highly recommend Hansens to my friends. Btw found them on Angie’s list with an A rating. Well deserved.

Everything was moved with no breakage (even though I and my family did packing of all but furniture) so movers had no way of knowing if everything was packed properly.
Movers were very personable and worked fluidly as a team to keep the work flow going with no wasted time — time even came in at less than estimate!

4.95 stars! Crew was super nice though and my furniture was well treated. They dealt with a lot of stairs without losing steam and without hitting my walls, lights or furniture ever.
I’d both recommend them and use them again myself!
This was a Seattle to Seattle same day move.
Update from Original Below: Immediately after posting what I did below (which I’d also sent to the company on their internal feedback form many days earlier), I was contacted by the owner who fixed the situation. 2 guys came out today to move my bookshelf to it’s intended location free of charge and all is well in the world. Very courteous guys again who did the move, and everyone this entire time was very professional. In reality, I never dealt with anyone unprofessional — in fact, I think we were all just tired after a long long day of moving (9 hrs) and lots of stairs and we all forgot to do the final walkthrough on placement — I did all but the basement room without prompting but I should’ve done more.
Original: The guys didn’t put a bookcase where I asked them to after it wouldn’t fit where I originally thought. They moved one but not both of the bookcases that wouldn’t fit (and left the one that didn’t fit on it’s side in a room it can’t stand up in so now I need friends to come help me move it). I should’ve double checked but forgot after a very long day.

Used Hansen Bros for a move from Seattle to Houston. We packed all, they picked up and dismantled furniture. Agreement was that they would put all furniture together at apartment in Houston; same way they picked it up. Delivery took weeks. Furniture was not put together in Houston, but in pieces (none broken). Missed some bolts to put all together. They also took bikes apart, to my surprise. Broke several pieces to my German bikes, which I still have not been able to replace. Lack of communication and answer from their sales rep. Did not respond to email. I rate them average; just like any other mover. Peter Hansen would not be happy. Likely better a company to use for local moves within Seattle vs longer haul.
Comment: Hanson Bros called me after posting above. They apologized for the issues; also stated that their sales rep, aka «relocation consultant», did not work with them anymore. I appreciate the call, just wish they would have responded after the move.

We used Hansen Bros. for a small office move within Bellevue and had a fantastic experience. After receiving a few estimates and going over the costs we liked what they had to offer the best.
Mike helped us every step of the way and even held a meeting with all of our employees to go over the move process with us. We used their plastic crate system and it worked out perfectly. I HIGHLY recommend using their crates as opposed to trying to scrounge and find 50+ boxes sturdy enough to pack up a business. Mike was able to estimate and deliver the exact number of crates and dollies we needed to pack. We had plenty of their labels and used their mapping process to ensure all items would make it to the right office in the new space. It made everything really clear, organized and easy.
On the day of the move the guys that were actually doing the moving did an exceptional job. They hauled major ass, placed barriers down to keep from marring the floors, wall corners or doorways, and handled everything with care. They got the trucks loaded very quickly and were great about unloading and making sure all of the furniture and electronics were placed in the proper offices and right where we wanted them. They did a thorough walk through and didn’t leave until they were assured I was happy. They had great attitudes the entire day and treated us very politely. They were a fun bunch of guys who worked very hard on a hot day.
After we unpacked a couple guys came by a week later to retrieve the crates and check on us. We received the best service and the part that made my boss the happiest, they came in under the original estimate. I would absolutely use Hansen Bros. again for our next move.
