Ordered the creamy Chipotle chicken burrito dry because I couldn’t stay. Ate chips while I waited with samplings of dips from their salsa bar. The verde was great and I simply use chips as a vessel for mass delivery of the stuff. They also had a chopped cilantro and onion mix which was perfectly flavorful. The Horchata was good-not great, but I wasn’t a fan of having it served into my cup with a soup ladle from a large container right next to the register(no lid over it). Now for the excitement of driving while eating a healthy size burrito wrapped heavily in foil, from the first bite I was like wow! This burrito is so much better than anything you get from Chipotle, Qdoba or Baja Fresh… worth the 10 minute wait. Next time I eat in and try the wet burrito which is so well regarded and what lead me here to begin with.

I went there prepared. I had cash for the 3% off. Ordered the Wet Steak Fajita Burrito. Like I said, the portion was huge!!! I could only finish a third of it. Despite the portion size, the burrito tasted good, but not exceptional. Chips and salsa were complimentary. They had a salsa bar. I feel like they should work on their salsas a little. They weren’t horrible, but they weren’t that good either. Wasn’t sure if I was supposed to bus my own table, but I did anyway. Loved the«Baby Burrito and Baby» pictures on the walls. Pretty funny.

So I was excited to try this place because of all the great reviews but I personally think it’s just ok. This is a fun place to go to get a baby size burrito ! I mean it’s kind of a «man vs food» kind of experience. The flavor of the burrito was pretty good too, we got the veggie one so maybe the meat ones taste better?

Others have pretty much said it all: solid Mexican food, HUGE portions, reasonable prices, hole-in-the-wall atmosphere(they could tidy it up a little, couldn’t they?). On the downside, an extra 3% credit card fee is excessive. If paying cash be sure the«cash discount» is applied as the amount on the bill had the fee included. That is, they assume you’re paying with a card.

First things first: Whoever said, «Don’t judge a book by its cover» was definitely talking about Gordito’s. When my friend and I first pulled up and had trouble parking in their lot, I had no clue what to expect. After entering, you can immediately tell that this«hole in the wall» was gonna have some amazing food, and boy was I right. The space is far bigger than it appears from the street, and so is the menu. I got a prawn fajita taco and a pork tostada with rice and beans. It was only $ 2.95 extra to «make it a plate» so I thought why not? I knew I had a decent amount of food coming my way, but no idea that it would be such gigantic proportions. The taco alone took up an entire plate. The tostada with rice and beans took up another, bigger plate. By the time I finished, I could barely move. The mixture of awesome flavors was the only thing keeping me out of pain and in a good mood! I decided to try the pineapple agua fresca. I’m not sure how it was made but it was exactly what my hungover-self needed. To top off a great experience, I learned that Gordito’s is a trans-fat free restaurant, which meant that all that food I stuffed in my face won’t – completely– lower my life expectancy!

They say quality is better than quantity, and at Gorditos, you get both!!! I got a potato burrito with steak added in! Oh man, it was huge!!! But boy was it packed with flavor! The best part was that it was under $ 10! My friend got the baby burrito(which is also under $ 10) and he loved it! You also get free chips and salsa. All the side veggies/salsas were tasty and fresh as well. I think it’s so cute that your order number is marked with a cute piñata! They’re so adorable! The staff is very friendly and fast! I really loved the burritos, but the best part of my visit was the HORCHATA! I’ve had my fair share of horchata and I’ve gotta say that Gorditos has some of the best horchata around! Mmmm so sweet and full of cinnamon! I love it! Anyway, if you haven’t eaten here yet, you’re missing out. You get huge portions with quality ingredients, all at an affordable price!

Oh my goodness. The regular size burrito is too big for me, and I consider myself a burrito-eating machine. In my experience it’s rare to find a burrito so huge for not-super-expensive, AND it’s not extra for sour cream. Deeeelicious and fast! Festive, casual atmosphere! Friendly staff. Order at the counter, eat your free chips and(warm, unique) salsa while you wait for your burrito. A colorful mini donkey piñata acts as a table number so the server knows to whom to bring what. My eyes popped out of my head seeing people being served the«baby burrito.» «Baby» doesn’t mean SMALL. It means«the size of a baby.»

I’m giving this place five stars because it has everything I’m looking for when it comes to going out for burritos. The staff is always super friendly and fast. I hate chicken, usually, but the way they season theirs’ for their burritos is on point– moist and flavorful. It’s by far the best I’ve had. And their burritos not only the size of babies but will also give you food babies because this burrito is large and can feed you for two days and is super affordable and fresh. Gorditos, thank you for existing. I think I love you… and your crispy fresh chips and salsa. Is your mouth watering yet?

We got a grande«baby» burrito for takeout tonight and it was fantastic! We ordered it wet and I would definitely recommend the extra $ 2 for the baby sized burrito upgrade. My partner and I weren’t able to finish the burrito between us but it’ll be fantastic for later. I will admit the burrito had more tomatoes than I would typically like but all of the veggies tasted fresh! The service was quick and friendly. I enjoyed how happy everyone behind the counter seemed to be there and everyone was exceptionally friendly. Will definitely return with friends

Just go here… the food is amazing. There are so many Mexican options in the area, but I’m not sure I’ll waste my time visiting too many others when I come to Seattle again. Homemade, fresh and delicious. The prices are ridiculously low and the portions are huge(the wet burrito was as big as a newborn, there are pictures all over to prove it) Don’t forget to add on some fried jalapeños. Can’t wait to go back and try more items.

Absolutely love this place. my friend posted a picture on her facebook of the burrito she got at this place and I thought I have got to try that place so I told my boyfriend about it and and checked it out We stopped in yesterday and were instantly greeted with a smile. we already knew what we wanted to order so we ordered. you can sit anywhere you want… the seats are a little uncomfortable but whatever everything pretty much is self serve which is kind of nice you don’t have to worry about tipping or having anyone bother you during your meal. I got the potato burrito and I ate every last bit of it it was so good. my boyfriend got the classic baby burrito he thought it was really good but the reason I’m knocking off one star is because he felt instantly sick as soon as we got into the car and is honestly afraid to eat the leftovers. I however feel totally fine I will say I definitely enjoyed my food and the service.

I thought I’d come here for lunch today. Upon entering, I was a little lost at first because I didn’t know if it was open seating or if someone was going to escort me to a table. There was also a line where you order but I wasn’t sure if that was only for take outs because I have been to places like that. I decided to stay in line and wait. It turned out I was right to order and pay first before grabbing a table. I was enticed by the pictures everyone post of the Grande Burrito. When it came to me, the burrito was huge ! It is definitely almost the same size of a baby ! You bet I took this baby burrito home because of leftovers! Everything here is basically self served. From water, to sauce, to pickled veggies, to to-go box. I like that idea, but I wish I would’ve known because I got my burrito without utensils. Nonetheless, I’m impressed by the burrito, so I would definitely come here for their other food. The salsa that comes with their free chips is also different, it comes straight from the pot so it’s served to you hot and fresh! I recommend the grande burrito and if you have a foodie buddy, I say grab them, and go ham on the enormous burrito together!

The only word I was really capable of saying here: Damn.(TL;DR at bottom) I would like to debate with someone who dislikes this place, because it is great, and probably one of my favorite places in Seattle to date. Let’s rewind a bit prior: I dragged my friends here on Easter, a bit over a month ago, but much to our chagrin, Gordito’s was closed.(As was every other place in the area; as our place was just over 30 – 40 minutes away by bus, arriving to a we’re closed sign was not the greatest of feelings. Then again, not checking ahead to see if they were open was me not being the sharpest cookie) By the time we were free enough to attempt a round 2, everyone was gung-ho and we had lined up the expedition. Time to roll! Wallets! Check! Bus pass! Check! Empty stomach space! Check! We arrived at Gordito’s and YES, IT’S NOTCLOSED! YAY! My friends more or less decided in a heartbeat. Straightforward burritos, great. On the other hand, I was thinking. I’ve made the journey to reach this place. Should I go for the grand prize? I initially caved to my safe side and ordered a regular chicken burrito. But then… a few things happened. The primal human instinct that is «go hard or go home» kicked in. – upgrade to baby burrito The nice cashier lady was laughing at me(well, it could’ve been a funny joke). I became self-conscious. I think because I didn’t get it wet. – upgrade to baby burrito wet-style The entire affair was roughly 12 bucks, which… is alright, a bit on the high end of what I usually try to limit myself to while going on adventures. After maybe ~10 minutes of wait they brought the food to us. And… oh my. I was not expecting this. I was not expecting this at all. None of us were expecting this. My friends’ burritos were fairly large, definitely enough to inflate a normal human, and probably enough to make me very full. But the baby burrito… I’m sure many of us have been displeased over the size discrepancy between image and actual product. Anyone who has gotten chips ahoy chewy cookies can corroborate my irritation.(Those things are munchkins compared to what it’s seemingly advertised as). But Gordito’s…undersizes them in their pictures. Seriously, I was genuinely expecting something considerably smaller, not a behemoth that was ACTUALLYASLONGASMYARMANDTWICEASWIDE, ANDTHENSOME. After quite a bit of picture taking and brouhaha, I dug in. It was really, really good. The salsa, melted cheese and sour cream slathered on top went unbelievably well with the chicken and guacamole inside. There was everything you could ever want or imagine in a burrito. The chicken was seasoned nicely, too. As if this couldn’t get dreamier, Gordito’s has three cauldrons at their salsa bar to use as condiment. Two of them stood out to me, the chipotle and chiles rojos(is it chiles rojos? Might be mixing it up, it’s the spiciest one there) are the best. Chipotle has a smoky tang to it that goes really well dripped over the burrito, and the rojo essentially gives you a flying kick to the head. I particularly enjoy those kind of condiments. In other departments, service is straightforward, and ambience is pretty resemblant of most Mexican establishments I’ve been to. However, it’s not… terribly clean,(or at least wasn’t on the two occasions I went) so if that matters a lot to you… come anyway. The food’s great! TL;DR: Hotly anticipated coming to gordito’s, got a baby burrito, am now muy gordo with a food baby. Also, protip: if you’re there with someone, get a baby burrito and split. It’s cheaper, and actually tastier(they include a bunch more stuff) than getting individual burritos or super burritos.(Have had both baby and regular)

I can’t decide whether to give them a 3 or 4 but I think I’ll just go for 3. I’ll make this short and simple. Pros: $ 12 for a HUGEBABYSIZED wet burrito(can fill up to about 4 people), free salsa and chips, mini salsa bar, free parking on the side of the restaurant Cons: Just the environment, very very dirty… Need new tables, seats, and floors. Or at least clean them. Did not feel very comfortable eating there.

If you’ve seen those pictures of burritos as big as a newborn infant, this is the place that delivers those giant masterpieces. The place itself isn’t the«prettiest» place, but it definitely has a comfortable, family filled vibe to it. You wait in line and there are menus for you to look at. The menu is simple and easy. Then someone will take your order on a small sheet which he/she will hand to you after you are done ordering. You bring the small sheet to the cashier and then pay for your food. They’ll give you the cute little pinatas with names attached to them for you to take to your table. Right next to the cashier is where you get some complimentary chips and salsa. Next to that station you can find three different kinds of salsa, and then the water station. There is a shelf just to the left of the water station where they have a bunch of boxes for you to take if you have any leftovers. You can find forks, straws and knives right next to the salsa station. Everything is quite easy to find and up to you to pick what you need — I found this to be really nice. There is a lot of seats as well, and outdoor seating for the warm days! The tables and chairs aren’t the most luxurious, and some of the chairs were a bit dirty. We tried two of the salsas, as well as the fresh, warm salsa that they give you with your chips. All the salsas were pretty good(the spicy one definitely has a kick) but I think the one that’s warm is the best one. The chips are lovely. They are super thin and crisp. Perfect little chips to munch on while you wait. And the wait isn’t even that long before your food comes out! We got the infamous baby burrito. Yes, it is huge, and I would probably share. There is nothing«healthy» about this giant portion size. We got ours«wet» and with steak. The burrito itself is full of rice, beans, cubes of steak, salsa and guacamole. The whole thing is smothered in sauce, but not too much that it’s drenched. Then it’s topped with cheese. I think it’s a good idea to keep some salsa on the side because the inside can feel a little on the dry side because of all the rice. The steak pieces were yummy and it tasted like a pretty good burrito. There wasn’t anything that overly«wow-ed» me, but I’m glad that even with something this big, the quality didn’t suffer. I think it could have used a bit more guacamole too, because I couldn’t taste it in some of my bites. The wilting lettuce on the side is a little sad, but we just decided not to touch it. We also decided to get a half order of chicken nachos. The chicken was so delicious. It was grilled to perfect, tender and moist. Sadly because the chips are so thin, they do start to get on the soggy side because of all the toppings. The cheese is good, but then it starts to harden and I’m sure you know how that is. However, they were a pretty good contrast to the giant burrito which offered many forkfuls. Service here was wonderful. They have humor and make sure that you enjoy everything. I really felt like home here. You bus your own table afterwards. You can place all your plates on the shelf underneath where all the to-go boxes go. The portion size on the baby burrito is giant and we had a corner left and a lot of nachos to go. Price is definitely good. For the amount you get, everything is pretty cheap. We left super, super stuffed and had leftovers all for less than $ 25. Food was about 3 stars on average, but service took it to the next star. It didn’t wow me, other than the size of the thing, but the meal was really filling and still good. I will take my food coma self to bed now.

It reminded me of a school cafeteria. Go inside, wait in line to order, place your order at the cashier and pay, then shuffle along to receive your comp tortilla chips with warm salsa. Then proceed to look for a table in the dining room. From here on out its all self service. Ok I can see where the«healthy» comes from. I give them props for having an affordable high — lo(high protein — low carb) options on the menu, particularly the carne Asada. 11 $ or $ 12 for a big plate of skirt steak and veggies is a good deal considering most other places charge about 16 $ +. I also saw hi lo prawn and tilapia plates too. Good plAce to come if you are on a diet and conscious about your macros. Yup IIFYM. But sorry you probably can’t eat the free basket of tortilla chips with salsa they give you while you wait for your meal. So that was the #fitlife talking. Now the #anti fitlife and foodie says: think a notch above blue water taco and taco del Mar. The food is affordable but really realllly lacks flavor. I tried the fish tacos and was maybe hoping for a nice filet of white fish nestled in a soft white corn tortilla … but it was more like torn pieces /bits of unseasoned dry fish with a pronounced dirty water –tilapia — flavor. The rice. Meh. Dry and no flavor. Cotton mouth. The beans. I think they just opened up a fresh can of black beans and sprinkled some jack cheese on top and called it good. However I was impressed with their giant burritos and the gallery of the giant burrito pics. They are the size of an infant! Huge! Could prob feed 3 people . If it’s an i want abs kinda day Id come back for sure. If not .id prefer to eat elsewhere

How I heard of this place: About a decade ago, a good friend introduced me to Gorditos, not only for the food, but for the novelty of infant-sized burritos! Only once among my numerous ventures to Gorditos yielded an order for the«Baby Burrito», split four ways, and still with leftovers for lunch the following day. Type of cuisine: «Gorditos began way back in Dec of 1994. We decided to open Gorditos because we had a different style of Mexican food to offer Seattle. We serve Mexican food with a healthy flair. Although its healthful food, its still true Mexican food. It’s truly a guilt“less» pleasure. The serving sizes are big, but that’s so you can take some home for later. We now have a chiquito menu with smaller portions, but its so good you’ll want leftovers… so you’ll find yourself ordering off the regular menu. Gorditos Kitchen What makes our food healthful you ask… We are completely transfat free, our beans are made without lard or oil, our rice without chicken stock, all of our meats are grilled, and our salsas are all made from fresh tomatoes and chiles. We have many vegetarian and vegan options, even our chips are completely animal-free. Our specialty would be our«Wet Burrito» or «Wet Burrito Grande» and you can have this with chicken, steak, pork, tofu, fish, prawns, spinach, or meatless. Another options for these burritos would be fajita style veggies, sautéed bell peppers, onions, and tomatoes in one of our homemade salsas and rolled into the burrito… Mmmmm, it makes me hungry thinking about it. Gorditos’ Burrito Grande, aka the famous Baby Burrito. This heafty baby-sized burrito is literally the size of a new born. One of our customers was inspired to take a side-by-side comparison photo of his new born baby next to the burrito. Thus was born our baby burrito wall where customers have left us photos of their babies and burritos.“ Ambiance: Bright blue and yellow exterior, from painted walls to awning, the fluorescent lighting inside shines through the windows on this dark evening. Inside, an immediate line-up forms alongside the plastic sneeze-guard, beyond which is the extensive, open kitchen. Brick walls, sparsely decorated with colorful, abstract art, leads the way to the red tiled floors in the dining area. White walls, rounded windows, sky-blue ceiling and ready patrons awaiting their orders with mini piñatas bearing order names. What I ordered: Four of us at Gorditos, sharing an evening meal, I selected the Fajita Burrito($ 7.35): Gorditos Wet Fajita Burrito a large flour tortilla filled with chicken, black beans, Mexican rice, sour cream, green bell peppers, onions and tomatoes in a homemade red salsa. Wet($ 1.40 additional). My husband chose the Potato Burrito($ 6.80): a large flour tortilla filled with a delicious blend of pan fried potatoes, black beans, rice, cheese and chipotle infused sour cream, served wet($ 1.40 more). One of our dining companions selected the Breakfast Potato Burrito($ 6.80): a flour tortilla filled with potatoes, green peppers, onions, black beans, rice, cheese and chipotle infused sour cream, while the fourth in our party enjoyed a Taco Combo Plate($ 11.25): two soft-shell beef tacos served with black beans and rice. Our complimentary sides of salsas and pickled vegetables, chips and medium salsa kept us happy until our meals were delivered. What I loved: The wet potato burrito. While everything I’ve sampled on the menu is worth a return trip, the new potato burrito stole tonight’s show. Soft on the inside, crisped outer pan-fried potatoes, a flavorful abundance of filling, and chipotle-infused sour cream makes every bite a mouth-watering one. Why I loved it: Simple food, served quickly, yet with care and diligence. Yum. Cost: Low($ 6.55 — $ 9.45 per burrito)

At this place you order at the counter grab a piñata and sit down, then they will bring out your food. I was expecting great things from the smell of the meats they were cooking, but unfortunately we left disappointed. We ordered the nachos with beef to share and were not impressed. The chips were soaked from the meat and bean juices so much so they were just wet soggy remnants of what have must been at one time a crisp chip. There wasn’t any tomatoes or onions on it that I would expect on nachos. On the plus side the beef did have a good flavor, and the guacamole was good. They have a parking lot, but it was full on a Thursday at lunch time we got lucky and someone was leaving our second circle around the block.

Can we just take a moment to acknowledge the fact that they offer burritos literally the size of newborn babies! If you don’t believe it just look all over the walls of pictures. Better yet, order one and see for yourself. I ordered the fish and veggie burrito. Delicious. The fish was cooked perfectly and not dry. I had a regular size burrito, and still could not finish it. They have a salsa bar with a variety of fresh made salsas varying by level of spicy. The place in not fancy by any means, and on a hot day it is very hot inside. The staff is friendly. They bring your order out to you, you can sit anywhere you like, and you clear your table when you are done. Authentic, divey vibe.
