Glee Day Spa

Very disappointed with this spa. I was planning to go on vacation and wanted to get a facial and body scrub before I left. I called about a week in advance to make an appointment and was able to schedule both services for the night before I left. The morning of, I received an email asking if i could reschedule my appointments due to high winds and rain expected for that evening. I politely declined since I needed the services done before my vacation. Alyssa then informed me that she was not going to be able to keep my facial appointment and the employee that was going to do my body scrub was going to be out that day anyways, so she would go ahead and cancel both services. As a new client, I would have expected a profuse apology and maybe a discount if I wanted to schedule future services, but that was not the case. Very disappointed in their customer service.

I’ve been seeing Alyssa for facials and eyebrow waxing for about 8 years and it is high time to leave a review. First of all, Alyssa is amazing! Very professional, super nice and excellent at her work. Facials are very relaxing, her massage techniques are awesome, thorough and quick extractions and my skin looks and feels great afterward. It took me a while to finally book an eyebrow wax with her and now I never want to see anyone else. Just like in her facials she is excellent! My brows always look great, not too thin and my skin isn’t as red as it has been with other estheticians, and not to mention her great prices. It’s so nice to go in and be able to relax knowing she’s going to take good care of me. The location is great with plenty of street parking and they’ve created a really clean and relaxing environment.

I got a massage and facial. The experience was EXCELLENT. I have read reviews that you can hear people talking in the hall. I went on a Sunday so I didn’t have this issue. I would highly recommend these ladies!

I had a massage with Amanda, and I felt amazing afterwards. I couldn’t believe that my hour was up already, I could have laid there forever. SHe was very kind, and checked in with me to make sure the pressure was just right for me. I highly recommend her to anyone who needs to feel better. I can’t wait to see her again next month for my massage.

Glee Day Spa is fantastic, Alyssa did a great job and I feel 10 years younger :) I would highly recommend Alyssa and Glee Day Spa for anyone looking for a facial… great for women AND men, true story! Thanks again Alyssa!

Alyssa gives the most relaxing facials. She also knows a lot about skin care. No complaints. Highly recommend.

I got a massage from Amanda a few days after a personally difficult weekend. My body was in knots and the left side of my body was extra unhappy. Amanda was compassionate and the pressure she applied was p-​e-​r-​f-​e-​c-​t. When she hit sensitive areas, I let her know and she adapted immediately and I didn’t have to continue screaming in pain to remind her all the time. I would recommend her massage wholeheartedly!

I just had my third massage at Glee Day Spa and I have to admit, I am a fan for life. Amanda is truly skilled and an expert in her field.
The location is convenient and easy to find. The spa is cute and comfortable and I found the massage room to be soft and relaxing.
I have to give Amanda kudos, because when I walked in for my last session, my upper back and neck were killing me. Ninety minutes later I was a new woman! Hot stones were the trick
Another thing I like about this place is that they take appointments on Mondays — which is sometimes hard to find but works better for my schedule. You can also book online which makes it even more convenient.
I would highly recommend Glee Day Spa! I know I’ll be back.

I recently received a 60-​minute massage from Amanda, and the experience was… mostly good.
The waiting room is easy to find and in a great location for me, though for a moment I definitely wondered if I was in the right place. There were a couple other people there at the same time, and they were all there to see a medical doctor. It’s a pretty cool set-​up for small businesses, however, so I’m glad it’s an option for people/​businesses.
The spa space is cute and I remember thinking it was comfortable. I like what they’ve done with it. I did hear people talking in the hallway a couple of times, but the rest of the time it was pretty quiet.
Now… the massage. The massage itself was very good… when it was happening. I don’t remember how many times it happened exactly, but it was «normal» for her to stop massaging for maybe 30 – 60 seconds (sometimes longer, maybe?), and… I’m guessing do something else. I’ve gotten quite a few massages, and it never takes that long to grab some more lotion or oil. I don’t know what was happening, but it was a little weird for the massage to have so many interruptions.
When my session ended, I wandered over to the Thai restaurant in the building and had a delicious bowl of soup. I was pretty sure I looked a little «odd» because I was pretty spacey and my skin/​hair probably smelled like oil.
Would I send my friends this way? I’m not sure yet. The massage was good… but those massage interruptions were a little annoying, and I wish they hadn’t happened (or had been explained ahead of time, if there was a reason for them).

Let me start by saying I hate writing negative reviews but I was so disappointed with my visit I felt I had to.
First of all, I am curious as to when a 90 minute massage turns into maybe a 75 minute massage? My appointment was for 2:00pm and I was dressed and out the door at 3:34pm, however we were late starting. I was still sitting in the waiting room at 2:07pm and then when I did get in she was fiddling with the music. Which she proceeded to continue to do even throughout my massage. So if we even started at 2:15 — 2:20 would be more like it. She even commented not to worry about getting my full time as she realized that we were late starting.
She asked me if I would like hot stones, which I replied ‘Yes Please!’ This never happened.
It was quite noisy in there as I could hear lots of stuff going on upstairs, people talking and laughing and what sounded like chairs rolling all over the place. Personally, not what I want when I am trying to relax and get a massage.
All in all, it was NOT a relaxing experience at all especially at a time when I was really looking forward to and needed a nice quiet and relaxing massage. And the fact that I did not get my full time annoys me more than I could ever convey. She asked how I heard about them and when I said I had a bloomspot I feel like that is when she decided not to give me her full attention and time.
Very disappointing experience!!!

I received a massage & facial package. The space was smaller than I was accustomed to as I usually go to a full service spa. Having said that I enjoyed the experience. Alyssa gave great facial, and I especially enjoyed her neck, shoulder massage. Amanda’s massage helped alleviate shoulder issues I had… but I was distracted by her needing to change the music multiple times during the massage; having the music on a loop would have been an easy solution. If you’re looking for a spa that doesn’t do a hard sell on any products, this is the spot; they didn’t try to sell me anything. Both Amanda & Alyssa were professional and provided a great service for reasonable prices.

i LOVE this place. i discovered it on a groupon deal, and was pleasantly surprised with the entire experience — i had the «The Blissful Experience». i am VERY picky when it comes to massages/​spas, as I have an athletic body and really like a tough/​deep tissue experience, while also feeling like I’m getting pampered and escaping the madness of the working world. The massage and facial were two of the best I’ve had in Seattle, and Amanda (massage therapist) and the Alyssa (skin care specialist) who did my facial were wonderful. I will be back very soon!

Time to update my review now that I have finally made it back for my facial portion. I am super bummed that this was my first facial ever, mostly bummed at myself for having missed out all these years. The only adjective wanting to escape my mind as I write this review is «FABULOUS». I was so impressed at how amazing and relaxed I felt after my facial.
I don’t know why I was so nervous to try it. I guess I thought due to my (at least in my mind) sensitive skin that I would break out, or that I would leave all red and puffy from zit popping and that I would look like a lobster for the rest of the day. My assumptions couldn’t have been more WRONG. There was face steaming, and massaging (neck, shoulders, face, arms), facial vibrating brush, lots of creams, and a mask. This was the longest hour ever which was wonderful. I hate when things seem to go by so fast and you’re left thinking «that’s it? That went by too quick»…well this one was never ending as it seemed and it was just perfect. Alyssa was very friendly and soo soo good.
I won’t lie, almost the whole time I was thinking about how I could get my boyfriend here for a facial for two reasons, one so he could experience the greatness, but two so he could try to figure out how he could do this to me haha. I will definitely be back, maybe once a month. I felt like I was glowing for the rest of the day.

I had my first massage at Glee today and am very happy. Amanda was attentive, entertaining, and did a terrific job — especially my forearms (which was a first for me). I’ll definitely be back. In fact, I’ve decided to switch from my regular massage place (one of those pricey chains) to Glee. Thanks again Amanda — see you soon.

This is an amazing place! If you don’t try it, you’re missing out. I could say simply just that, and nothing else, but I’ll go on and explain…
Last month I found Glee Day Spa by searching Unilocal,intrigued by the overwhelmingly positive reviews posted on here. After 3 weeks of massages, I decided to write a review.
I am shocked that since returning to Unilocal,there is a negative review out there! I know there is always at least one Unilocaler out there who gets it wrong, but really .i’m telling you, they got it sooo wrong!
My Mom is a massage therapist, so growing up with regular massage (whether it was her, or other massage therapists in the community I’ve come to know and love), I know what it feels like to receive an amazing massage.
The purpose of my visit to the spa was always to get a massage, so I have yet to try anything other than that. A great massage that would help me feel better, lift my spirits, and relax my body and mind is what I was searching for. I was also in search of a massage that increases circulation, soothes sore muscles, and enhances my sense of positive energy. I can assure you that is what I have received, several times now. I even gifted a massage to my boyfriend, who felt (and definitely seemed) very relaxed afterward.
Some extra perks that you will enjoy: affordable pricing, package deals, your choice of aroma’s, amazing hot stones, and a conversation (or not, if you prefer silence you may get that too) with a great person who is warm, welcoming, and a very talented therapist. Amanda at Glee Day Spa will give you a personalized massage that will leave you feeling wonderful.

I’m pretty shocked that this «spa» got so many great reviews. For my birthday, I told my sister in law to get me a gift certificate for a prenatal massage based on the positive Unilocal reviews. Where to start? The business is located in a workspace, so the waiting room is a communal waiting space for a variety of businesses. I think this is fine if I were waiting for a doctor, but for a spa experience, it was really strange. The actual workspace was cute, nicely decorated but extremely small, probably no more than 300 – 400 square feet which included two rooms and a reception desk. As for the massage, I have to say, it was probably one of the worse massages I have EVER received… maybe the worse.
My massage started late (even though I was early), and ended early — one of my pet peeves. The other things that bothered me were that the music CD stopped during my massage so the therapist had to stop my massage to restart the music, she was drinking her diet coke/​water during my massage, her massage technique was mediocre, and during the middle of my massage she had to step out to use the restroom! So, for my 90 minute massage, in actuality I probably got 70 minutes at best with the late start/​early ending and all the interruptions. Also, her stomach was growling during the massage. Granted, it was around noon, but it just added to the un-​relaxing experience. The kicker? When I was checking out, the therapist (who is also the owner and receptionist) was filing her nails the whole time. I always leave a generous tip after a massage, but for the first time ever, I just gave her my gift certificate and left.
This business is locally owned and operated, which is a plus. Overall the massage experience was terrible and I would never recommend anyone to go there. The prices are very competitive but I would rather pay the extra $ 20 – 30 to go to a real spa.

This review is just for Amanda’s massage services. I’ve seen her a few times and she is so fantastic, I really need to put aside the $$ to go more often as it is money well spent. She is attentive, caring, asks the right questions… and I love supporting a local, independent business.
The only feedback I wanted to provide the ladies with is something I think they are probably aware of, in the new location it is not very soundproof. I can easily hear conversations in the other treatment room.

Calm, peaceful, lovely. Alyssa and Amanda are truly professional, and the massage/​facial experience was amazing. Soothing music, a fully customized massage with hot stones and your choice of scented oils, face treatments and extractions… they will walk you through everything and make sure everything is enjoyable and relaxing. Simply amazing.

I’ve been hearing about prenatal massages from other women in my yoga classes for months and they all talk about how you have to lay on your side during the massage. After laying exclusively on my side for the past 8 months, that just doesn’t sound all that relaxing. I was so excited to learn about their pregnancy pillow that allows you to lay on your belly for the massage. It was WONDERFUL. Although I think at 38 weeks, my belly might be a tiny bit on the big side for the pillow, but I made it work.
I also decided to pamper myself with the Body Glow treatment, which was also wonderful. Amanda told me that my skin would be as soft as the baby’s after the treatment and I think she was right. Although I’ll know for sure in just a couple of weeks. :o)

I found Glee Day Spa through Spa Finder (I had a gift certificate) and after reading some reviews about the available spas in Seattle, I decided to go with Glee. I booked the Delightful experience (1 hr facial and 1 hr massage). The spa is in the basement of a residential home, but the girls have remodeled beautifully. My only complaint about the atmosphere is that while receiving my facial I could hear an infant crying… and not just once, multiple times throughout the hour. I definitely want to give these girls credit for running a home business, but I’m sorry, when I go to a spa I am going to relax, and a crying child does not really make this happen.
As far as the services, I thought the facial from Alyssa was great (it was my first one). Great massage for face/​neck/​shoulders/​arms/​hands and my skin felt softer after. Next was my full body massage. Amanda used hot stones which was a treat, I just wish she would have used them a few minutes longer. The leg massage was done over the sheets (leg massages in the past have been directly on the skin which I prefer). Scalp massage at the end was just what I wanted. Both Alyssa and Amanda were very friendly and professional.
Overall, I thought it was pretty good, but I don’t know that I’ll return unless I have another Spa Finder certificate.
