I’ve never eaten in the restaurant but I enjoyed the bar and it’s a fun place for billiards. I enjoyed the Carne Asada Fries and the Rainier beer too. In fact, I haven’t had Rainier for 30 years and it was much better than I remembered. The pool table we used was level and we found some straight pool cues to use too. I’ll be back for another visit soon now that the First Hill Streetcar is running.

With it’s pool tables, bowling, drinks and food, The Garage provides entertainment for the 21+ crowd. We came here on Sunday night to take advantage of Industry Night(3p — 10p) where it’s $ 12/hr for bowling. Shoe rentals are not included and cost $ 4. The place was packed and there was a 2.5 hours wait. We went out, grabbed dinner, and by the time we came back, a lane eventually opened up. We made our way downstairs, ordered a pitcher, and started bowling. The beer was alright. There were also plenty of bowling balls to choose from. Pins re-rack pretty quickly so each game goes by quickly. My only concern is that while the women’s restroom was well stocked, there was puke all over a stall wall. I know The Garage cannot control this, but it was just nasty.

Came here on a thursday night and there was a pretty good amount of people there. pool tables were 6 $ after 10PM. we ordered pork sliders, the waitress forgot so she ended up giving it to us on the house which was super nice the staff there are nice, everytime i come, the workers are super nice to me. I think one of the securtity guards or waiters saw me throwin up in the bathroom and didn’t kick me out, instead they just told my friends to keep an eye out for me and make sure i get home safe!

I used to LOVE this place! I would come here all the time! Until some lady that call her self a manager ruined my entire night! Some chick Katie! Super disrespectful! I come to this establishment to have a drink, bowl, play pool enjoy myself on my off days. Very disappointing! The owner should have better control of their staff members. I mind my business and do not bother a soul! So why she picked me to be rude and disrespectful I’m not sure. However the owner should choose better people to run his or her establishment!

This place is awesome! Came here for a work event and had the best time with my co-workers — we played 6 rounds of pool non-stop because it was so much fun. Lots of people here even on a weeknight. I loved the energy and the open space. Definitely coming back next time and checking out bowling.

I gave myself multiple months to calm down from this ordeal after experiencing some of the worst food I have ever had the displeasure of smelling/eating/paying for. It didn’t work. I’m still pissed. The bowling experience left a lot to be desired as well, but it’s the food that earned this place a fat One Star badge of awfulness. Garage is insupportably disgusting. I ordered what I think they call the«Mezza» plate, or something similar, and ITSMELLEDEXACTLYLIKEARMPITS. I shit you not. It was distinctly the smell of armpits after a long day of hard work without deodorant. If you have money to throw away, this is bad enough that it might be worth going here just to order it so you can confirm how distinct this smell is. And let me clarify: I am not a troll. I love writing reviews, and rarely ever go below three stars because I check Unilocal before approaching a business and wouldn’t walk into one that didn’t have at least a chance of being alright. This one was suggested by a friend, and I hope I never have to set foot in it again. I tried to eat some of the food on this hummus plate, which I should not have done, but it would’ve been unfair not to give this the benefit of the doubt(even after having two friends I was with smell it and confirm the armpit odor.) The taste did not disappoint my expectation of being horrified. Olives were cheap and flavorless. Frigging olives! How hard is it to get a jar of kalamata olives from QFC right up the street? These things came out of a can. Nothing else was memorably good, or bad, but it’s worth noting that it was served with a bunch of random sliced cold onions. The heck am I going to do with random onion slices? My friend ordered a burger, which was also bad, but nothing to write home about. We could’ve gone to Dick’s down the street and had considerably better food for half the price. There’s nothing particularly offensive about the bowling or billiard setup except that it’s pricey as hell, until your lane breaks down and you wait 25 minutes to have someone try to fix it. We told a guy who worked there that our lane was stuck and unusable, as was the lane next to ours if I recall correctly, but it took something like 23 minutes to get someone to do anything about it. We sat around waiting and wondering and hearing radios go off with no response until we were about to get up and just walk out. Then suddenly a man appeared to fix it. When you’re paying by the hour to bowl, losing almost half of that hour on something like this is not amusing. We left very shortly after that, and they did give us a small discount to make up for that timing, but not enough to make up for the unpleasantness of the experience. We didn’t even finish a single game in the hour we were there because of that, and if I’d been the manager, I would’ve refunded the whole thing. The food was the most inexcusable, but nothing about this was worth even a few bucks, much less the ~$ 20 per person this would’ve cost us. I will not be back, and I’d recommend you avoid it like the plague, too.

A great place to bowl or play pool. The food is over priced bar food, but what else do you expect in capital hill?

If your looking for a place to drink or play pool, then its a good place. if you want to bowl or eat, go somewhere else. They wait is 2 hours. The bowling lanes are close together so one lane could have at least 8 people but seats for 5, so with 2 lanes people are on top of each other. They don’t have enough bowling equipment also. As for the food, their french fries are the worst. The potatoes are just the wrong kind and they must be using small potatoes and most were an inch and a half in length. The bacon Mac and cheese is ok. But all the food over the top. The menu has buzz worthy ingredients but the combinations made no sense. The staff doesn’t like you. They mess up orders, go to the wrong tables and just want to talk to each other. I saw 2 good servers trying to over for the rest.

I’ve been to Garage a few times with friends mostly to play pool very poorly. It gets crowded especially on weekends. I recommend not getting any mixed drinks and to stick with beer. It’s a good place to hang out but it might take a while before you get a table so be prepared for a wait. Parking is also a pain but it’s not bad if you are willing to park and walk. Also, bathrooms are kinda gross.

My partner and I visited Seattle during the winter holiday so there wasn’t much to do in the cold/rain. We decided to play some pool and bowling to waste time and for some friendly competition. They have tons of pool tables($ 15 an hour) and a handful of bowling lanes($ 30 an hour). Service is great — you can order food and drinks at the bar or at the bowling lane. My only complaints are: — My beer tasted like feet… why? The mixed drink was also mediocre. — Women’s restroom was dirty and the toilets were broken

Super overrated and the pretentious food was subpar. The mezze plate is a couple of cherry tomatoes, olives, feta cheese and four pieces of pita bread with the worst hummus I’ve had. They don’t have nachos but they have a lot of bar food that’s way worse and I was surprised they didn’t have them. It’s kinda hard to screw up nachos and that would’ve made more sense that this. I ordered a refresher and it tasted like someone squirted lemon juice in a crappy vodka. I’m all about the sour but the drink is so sour I can barely swallow it. If you want to bowl it’s $ 30 an hour on Fridays and Saturdays. No thanks!

After 5.5 years in Seattle, I FINALLY went to Garage for a night of bowling with my amigos. I was surprise at how sprawling this establishment is! Huge! We went on a Saturday night a few weeks ago, and even though it was pretty crowded, it never felt congested. I’ve heard from other people that the bowling lanes sometimes tend to malfunction, and I experienced the same during my game — though I can’t complain… it gave me a «spare» on several different occasions even though I hadn’t knocked down all the pins. I’m sure the malfunctions don’t always work in the bowler’s favor, so they should probably get that looked at sooner rather than later. The bathrooms are outdated and dingy… they could use some love from Mr. Clean, but, it IS a public restroom. I found the servers/bar staff. doormen to be friendly and all provided quick service. It was a good first experience, and I plan to visit Garage again in the near future.

Okay, so any place where they can give me a 2/2.5 hour wait for bowing and I stick around, must be doing something right. After about 45 mins or so, we had a few drinks at the bar and got a pool table. We shot pool until our lane was ready and the drinks kept coming. The lanes themselves were dry and crappy but that’s to be expected. We left like 5 hours or something after arrival at bar time. Hilarious, we thought it was gonna just be another stop along the route. Just shows you how much fun we were having.

Balls, and hard wood surfaces; because bowling only works if you have those two aspects in play. Here, they have lots of hard surfaces, coupled with balls, soft shoes, and nice bartenders. I was here with a large group of 40ish people, a team outing, and with 6 lanes, two pool tables, and plenty of small bites, it was a perfect atmosphere. For three hours, we had plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the location. The food was okay, with small pizzas, salad(Caesar), a hummus plate, and vegetable platter with ranch. The alleys seemed to run smoothly, but our lane was buggy. once in a while, the software wouldn’t respond, and our lane in particular, pin 1 had a nice habit of falling over, so resetting the frame was sometimes required. So this is a bowling alley, with bowling alley items. Lots of space for private parties, and in this instance, it worked out great.

Fun outdoor seating, bowling, pool, TVs for sports games… you really can’t go wrong here! Came here on a whim just to catch part of the Seahawks game and was happy to hear they had happy hour every day 3−7pm! $ 3 beers! WOOT! Sad part was that they do not have happy hour foods. Booooooo. $ 12 for a pizza however and it was plenty as a mini meal for 2 people. Plus, that Nandi pizza was delish!(kale pesto, chicken, bacon, garlic… NOMS). Service and staff are great here and it’s a fun crowd for watching football. Crowded on the weekends, but come for HH!

Really cool place. I love pool and it’s amazing how big this place is. And I wasn’t expecting a bowling alley on the hill! First of all, this is a very popular place, so it can get very crowded. Just walking by the desk where you rent bowling equipment was VERY tight with people waiting in line and just chatting. Wait staff was friendly, but it took me a WHILE to be able to order something. The food was good(the fries were incredible!), but was not impressed with having to go find someone to order, and again to close out my check. But that was the only real negative. Otherwise, I had a very fun time at Garage!

Oh man. Oh man. Oh man. I am in love with this place. Tasty food, many pool tables, full service bar, AND a bowling alley. An entire night can be packed here for hours of entertainment. Tables are all open between 3−5p(which is during happy hour, heeeyyyy) and start to fill once people begin getting off of work. The waitress was attentive and very accommodating to my indecisive food ordering personality. They have Smith and Forge cider(very good– first time I had ever had it) in bottle and a few draft beers including Rainier! You can get a pint of rainier from a tap! The food ordered was yummy and was a mix of restaurant and pub style. The deviled eggs were very tasty but a bit heavy on horseradish(so if you’re not a fan of that DONOT order these) and the chicken strips were so delicious. They were herbed and breaded and brought with buffalo sauce to dip in. I am very into buffalo sauce lately. I would recommend coming during happy hour time for pool, drinks, and food. They fill up fast and get pretty busy later in the evening! I am definitely going again whenever I need to get a pool fix!

Located in Capitol Hill… the area is sketchy so watch out where you park your car. My friend got his car broken into and they stole his stuff even though he was parked in a parking lot. BEWARE! Average pool hall place, kind of empty on Friday night but it’s a good place to catch up with friends. They serve pitchers of beer– always a plus in my books!

Excellent service. Patio closes at 9 but we were able to stay out a few minutes extra. Friends loved their garage burger, but I was let down by the quinoa feta burger. I imagined a soft, textured patty but I got a dry, hard disk that came with apple chutney that was too sweet. I regretted getting it the moment I took my first bite. Won’t get it again.

Cool place to check out They had some pool tables and like 12 lanes for bowling. I kind of got that old school vibe. They had an outdoor fireplace in the front. The workers seemed kind of unprofessional. One of the customers had a tiff with the security guard when we were paying for our lane. We had fun, the bartender did come around to take our drink order. They closed a little earlier than they listed on their hours but it was pretty dead so i get it. If i lived in Seattle i would probably come here more often. Seemed like a chill place to hang out at
