Super fun atmosphere to come and watch the Seahawks play. Drinks are great. Food is pretty good for the price

Very nice place to have a dinner and beer. Beer selection is huge. Rib eye steak was juicy and cooked the way my husband want it. My shrimp scampi were delicious. Service is nice and friendly.

It’s hard to screw up grilled wild-trolled Alaska salmon and a medium rare steak, but they somehow managed it. The salmon was way dry, but it wasn’t even done at high heat to have a nice crispy skin; the whole thing was dry, with a soggy exterior. Steak was way overcooked and rubbery. Potatoes were likewise a bit soggy and not very crispy. On the plus side, the staff was super nice and frank; they have a giant projection screen for sporting events; and the beer menu was pretty good.

Great environment, cool old building… but the food lacks. Had the chowder and the fish and chips. Nothing that we will remember. Lots of TVS for games but other than that the food definitely lacks.

Just came in for drinks! Great bar for a Sunday funday! It wasn’t that busy for an away Seahawks game. Service was so so. We ordered minimal food which was okay but the reason I may not return is that the pitcher of manny’s was $ 24! I think even for the location, that’s quite high for a pitcher of beer…

Great chowder. OK, we can’t resist a coupon so we came for the chowder since it’s free with online purchased tickets to the Seattle Home Show(and I suspect other events as well). So we came and ate the chowder and while it was not the greatest we’ve ever had it was definitely among the best. We stayed for a pleasant dinner. That was last February. So this fall(does remodeling ever end?) it went without saying that we would stop by again and again we stayed for dinner and actually at the same table. The chowder was as good as ever and my GF had awesome fish and chips while I had a mojito and sole almondine. The sole was a bit fishy tasting but still quite good so I’m giving 4 rather than 5 stars. The ambiance is pleasant and the football game on TV is unobtrusive and easily ignored if you’re not into it. The walls are tastefully decorated with paintings and all in all it’s a great port in a storm on a cold rainy evening in Seattle.

Probably should have stuck to the prime rib and oysters highlighted on the menu. Drink prices were a bit high but still cheaper than the stadium prices most of the customers are heading to. Cobb salad was a sloppy, soggy mess of iceberg lettuce with the toppings all tossed together. Franz pub bun way too big for the frozen burger patty. The Caramelized Onions were the best part of the American burger. Overall poor value and execution but has a good location if heading to a game.

Came here for the prime rib dinner, not bad except the prime rib was very hard to cut and kinda dry. The bake potato was great! the service was very fast and friendly. I would definitely come here again.

it’s been awhile since I the last time I had been at FX. it’s a beautiful room but the place is just a tourist place now. I swear they had Seagrams martinis on tap. Very few other choices despite the huge array of whisky, etc. I think the AC was out when we were there so the bartenders just didn’t want to get up on the ladders. The service was very«Whadya want? Here… That ‘ill be $ 20.» kind of place. Get you in… Get you out. I think what they have turned into since the 20 years or so since I was there last is a place that lets you see the original artwork and where it was made… Get you a very generic drink and move on to the other tourists that want to see the room.

Colossal Prawn Cocktail… you’re kidding right? Neither the dish or the prawns would qualify as «colossal»… OHWAIT!!! the $ 11.95 price WOULD qualify.

Poor value for food. «Colossal Prawn Cocktail» is three small shrimp and a bunch of vegetation, $ 12. Salad was drenched in a syrup sweet vinaigrette, hard to eat, few goodies. Salmon sandwich and grilled salmon was actually ok, but everything else at the table was substandard. Turkey sandwich was bone-dry, potatoes over-cooked. Zero plating aptitude in the kitchen– it’s pretty obvious they don’t much care what it looks like. Good, friendly service. Lots of employees on the floor, few customers. Beautiful antique 1920’s euro-café room, amazing bar, hideously adorned with pointless sportsbar garbage and painted dark brown with ugly Celtic knot trim. It can’t decide what it is! This could be soooo good! But it sucks fiercely. Come here to drink, ignore the food.

When I go to FX, I always order the Ahi Tuna Sandwich with fries. Not that I dont think the other dishes could be delicious, but because I absolutely love this sandwich! Not to mention they have a ton of beers on tap. Once in a blue moon you’ll get that one waiter who isnt that friendly and that’s why I didnt give this place a 5. Overall, still really like the place especially when I’m craving the Ahi Tuna Sandwich =)

Our party of 8 rolled in last night to pre-func before a Mariner’s game. This, after getting up and leaving our table after 20 minutes of no service and a bad attitude by the hostess at the disappointing Quality Athletics across the street. The first great sign? The proprietor was THERE. He also swapped out a chair for us that had pooled water on it as we were being seated. We were greeted at the table by Mark Z — He took GREAT care of us. Drinks were ordered and arrived quickly followed shortly by our appetizers with recurring follow up visits resulting in drinks being promptly topped off. At the end we had one of those typical, complicated bills that aren’t fair to split equally where some people didn’t have food, some had more than one drink, etc. With not an ounce of pain, Matt divided the food 3-ways between those that had it and put everyone’s drinks on their own tab. We’ve all been in this situation and have experienced servers that are visibly less than thrilled… It was refreshing to have Mark offer a quick solution and then execute it quickly with a great attitude. This place has been around a LONG time and with great service like this I can only see it remaining so.

This place adjusts its hours for ‘game days’ it seems, because when I checked Unilocal,it stated it was closed. My server seemed stoned and out of it but whatever. The food was great, and where we were seated, we saw all the plates that were coming out — and it all looked good. I’m sure during regular hours, the service and atmosphere will be more mild and chill. I’ll say this, the rib eye was quite exceptional, and I wasn’t expecting that. I’m glad all the bars were packed and I wasn’t in the mood to elbow my way around the pea

We got here after a Mariner’s game on a sunny Sunday afternoon. We sat on the patio to soak up sunshine. One little mishap happened. However, how the staff handled the situation and accommodated was top notch &150% professional. Beer selection: amazing We also got raw oysters on a half shell, shigoku the best ever. Prime rib sandwich, we shared it was the most amazing prime rib sandwich I have ever had on the west coast with horseradish slaw. Our overall experience was great, we will come back for food, service, professionalism and how they handle situations

Waiter was extremely nice & knew the menu. I asked for suggestions & he gave honest answers about things that he didn’t think were all that great. We ended up going with the nachos, which you really can’t go wrong with that choice anywhere. They were delicious. Had a good experience overall.

Great happy hour options — drinks from 4.50 and snacks from $ 4 – 7. I had the prawns and steak bites. The steak bites are in a pepper corn mushroom sauce. And very tasty. It’s also a great option on game days if you want a high energy/bustling environment to get you in game mode. I’ve had the prime rib dip before(a lil on the fatty side but that’s kinda the deal with prime rib). The center cut pork chop is also good. I’d recommend it for game days, after work beers, or tourists needing to get off their feet after walking around pioneer squares cobble stone walk ways window shopping the art galleries.

Can you screw up a salad?! Yep. It’s possible. Unfortunately my $ 14.95 Cobb was nothing short of something I could make at home for $ 5. I had high hopes coming in as I had never been before. Old world charm and a HUGE bar with more than enough liquor to supply all of Seattle. Beer — plenty on tap. $ 6 for a pint is a touch spendy but whatever. Food — lots to choose from. Seemingly overpriced for what you get. Staff — friendly and professional. Typical lunch rush on a weekday however it took quite some time for food to come out. 25 minutes after I ordered my Cobb arrived and I was sadly disappointed. Shredded bag-lettuce, dry(almost looked previously frozen?) chicken, avocado that was already brown, a couple bacon crumbles, tomato, egg, blue cheese, and some OK vinaigrette on the side. Lots of toppings, but seriously lacking. For the money I much would have rather gotten something else. I’m not typically one to complain though when I’m starving and had been waiting so long for my food in the first place. Come here for alcohol, maybe even happy hour. I will not be back for a meal though. I expected much more from this somewhat fancy place but left with a not-so-great taste in my mouth… $ 25+ later for a salad and a beer… UGH. Never again.

oh man… I can’t believe people think this place has good food… My french fries were soggy and they were not seasoned… they were the least flavorful fries I have ever had in my life… probably also the worst ever… It must have been hard for them to mess up fries that badly. Pulled pork sandwich was not good either but not as bad as the fries. Again the buns were too… soggy(almost no texture to it) and the pork drenched in BBQ sauce was way too sweet. Very one dimensional in flavor(BBQ sauce). Service was not very good either. Not bad but not good. Won’t be coming back here on my own. Credit cards are accepted and they provide discounted parking nearby($ 2 for 3 hours).
