Franciscan Medical Clinic – West Seattle

My baby and I were both sick and unable to see our primary doctors because of the timing with the holidays. This was a clean, new facility with very friendly staff and doctors. About 30 minute wait till we saw Dr. S… who was great with our 1 year old daughter. He spent time explaining things in layman terms, thank you. As we were leaving, the waiting room was full. So it is all in your timing, isn’t everything. We were very pleased, definitely recommended for minor medical issues.

Urgent care my ass! More like Urgent «I don’t care». Do these people even have medical education? I’ve been there twice and have been treated like I’m a bother. I was given the worst treatment and medical advice after my first visit. I went in for a skin issue, because I wasn’t sure what it was. I thought maybe it was bug bites??? The very unfriendly doctor that I saw looked at me from 2 feet away, and to quote her she said, «I don’t know what it is»… «I’m not a bug-​ologist.» WTF?! That’s not even a real term. The second time I went for a hurt arm. I was just sent away to another place because they didn’t have any idea what to tell me. Then after my friend told me about her experience at «Urgent I don’t care,» I decided to write this review. She went in for a bee sting bite on her face that she was allergic to and the same doctor that told me she wasn’t a bug-​ologist said to my friend, «I don’t know what your face looked like before it was swollen, so how do I know? «All I can say is WOW. I will never go back there.

I wish I would have read the negative reviews before I went here. Save yourself the trouble and just cross the bridge to see kind doctors and deal with professional staff at a different clinic.
Dr. Jeanne M. Olsen expressed impatience, frustration and she was so irritated. Her bed-​side manner was non-​existent. I was in tears after getting off the phone while she would constantly interrupting me. I would never go back to see her, absolutely not!
The staff are not informed and incompetent.

Not sure why the negative experiences here. Staff very polite & helpful. Brought my elderly mom for flu-​like symptoms and the nurses & practitioner were very patient with her. Would bring mom back if needed.

Do not waste your time at the Franciscan Medical Clinic. After spending an hour and $ 30 co-​pay at their facility, I was prescribed the wrong antibiotics. After the prescription failed to work, I brought it to their attention in hopes of reevaluation. Instead I was repetitively told «oh well, see your PCP.» Very unhelpful and unprofessional.

Horrible, HORRIBLE service.
This place was bad as Highline, but Under his new system it’s even worse.
I can’t imagine where they find the people that answer phones and help at the front desk. Grossly unprofessional and terribly rude.

There are no doctors here, only PAs who don’t even know basic medical terminology and don’t give you any information at all about your condition or proposed treatment plan. After over 4 hours today, we left knowing there was a broken bone but having no idea which bone or how to care for it. Just that we had to wait until we could (HOPEFULLY) get to a podiatrist on Monday. No proper diagnosis or treatment plan at all and my husband was sent out in a shoe that was too small so the broken toe was hanging off the end of it unprotected. They didn’t even clean the bloody wounds! We were given a disc of the xrays that didn’t work and had to go back for a new one. After that, we were at least able to pull up the images and compare against a diagram of the bones of the foot to figure out ourselves what was broken. This was seriously negligent care. Don’t go here, people!!! The ER may be expensive but at least you’ll get legitimate medical treatment.

. Wow! After a bad experience @ Swedish South Lake Union, it’s so nice to be treated with respect and kindness at Franciscan Medical Clinic. !Finally able to see a doctor I feel a little more calm and help is on its way.
I feel so relieved! Nothing major. Wait time 8 minutes. The nurse was super friendly and Dr. Cooper was just the same. What an awesome experience. Highly recommend this facility!!!

The bummer here is that we received good customer service while we were in the clinic but after we left we received a bill in the mail which nobody could explain to us. During our visit to the clinic we were in and out in 45 minutes or so and that was great. The front desk help, medical assistants, and doctor were very friendly and helpful.
When we received a bill it was shocking because we thought we paid in full — we were self-​pay and were told that we needed to pay in full at the time of service. I called the 800 number that the bill said to call if questions and the representative told me that he couldn’t adjust the bill that I needed to call the office manager of the clinic –Alicia Brown. I called Alicia on 4 different occasions and she never responded to me. The bill is «due upon receipt» so I want to get this resolved as soon as possible.
As a last resort I called the 800 number back after a week of not hearing bad from Alicia and they told me that the front counter gave us the wrong self pay discount and that they would adjust it. Wow, that was simple. Why couldn’t someone tell me this 7 days ago. Why couldn’t the manager politely call me back?
I train customer service for a living and I tell all of my trainees– «Customer service starts when there is a problem.» They failed at that. Honestly, we will probably go back because of the speedy service and convenient location BUT we will be careful to watch for sketchy billing practices.

The quality of care is fine, but the receptionist was just whining about everything. «Ever since Franciscan took over this place we have to do so much corporate crap.» We all think it, but you don’t need to say it in front of your customers.

I’ve been there twice for two separate reasons. The wait time wasn’t bad, at the latest 30mins however you are at a walk in urgent care so I wouldn’t expect less.
MAs are nice and the doctors are friendly and helpful.

Walk in Clinic
Dr Chaffin saw me for stomach pain, gave me a diagnosis that I discovered later was medically almost impossible, then prescribed a placebo (verified later). No advice that would actually help me. I did not feel the problem was addressed at all.

I’ve been there twice before with a Doctor Marty I believe, he was very nice, attentive and great to communicate with. Front staff friendly and welcoming. But. I went in a 3^rd time and this time I was scheduled to meet with a d.o. Sheffter or Shumer. To say the least he was very rude, arrogant and definatley not a people person (note that is your line if business buddy). He showed up 30 mins late after nurse took my readings (she was proffesional and nice) and came in seeming annoyed there was a youngster with potential flu in his office. Asked me questions and gave snarky remarks. When I asked how did he determine I had this contagious virus without any testing he said ‘I just do’ in a jerky way. I said I might have gotten it on the metro since I use it for work and he said probably not everyone is always sick or coughing on there which led me to believe he just wanted to argue or be right or just didn’t like me (or himself). I also asked if I should take time off work with this virus since I work in the restaurant field and his reply was ‘well if we all stayed home when we were sick we wouldn’t get anything accomplished’. He wrote a note sayimg I was in his office until I asked if ge could add I was sick so I had proof which ge hesitantly did. There was a lot more attitude and unproffesionalism from this sour bitter man (probably the same doctor with the bad review on how he treated the young kid) but I wish him the Best and am ‘Never’ going back unless its Marty and no where else to go. I called the nurse hotline the receptionist gave me and got my money back the next day. Be forewarned. Cheers

I haven’t been to an Urgent Care clinic in over 10 years.
I came here due to having a linger cough/​cold that seemed to be getting worse. I wasn’t able to get in to see my regular doc so I tried to pop in on Saturday morning and possibly get some meds.
The hours posted was 8−8am 7 days a week. I walked in at 8am sharp and the lobby was unlocked but no one was there. I seated myself and assumed someone would show up eventually.
The receptionist showed up and took my ID and insurance card and handed me some paperwork to do. 2 other people showed up shortly after me and we all had to do the same paperwork. I looked and saw there were 4 pages so I did them all. However, she didn’t communicate that there were multiple pages and so the other 2 folks were denied when they tried to turn theirs in. A little poor communication on that front.
I got taken back to meet the doc and the nurse on call. Both of them were really personable and I was in/​out in a reasonable manner. I was also the first appt of the day so it was to my expectation.
I’d go back if I couldn’t get in to see my regular doc as it’s in my neighborhood but I’m not sure if it’d be my primary care.

Great place. Went in on Saturday morning about 1 hr after they opened and was seen by a doctor within 20 minutes. Very friendly staff and professional service. I will return should the «prompt» care need arise. They were Highline Urgent Care and are now called Franciscan Prompt Care. Prompt Care is open 7 days a week and the regular clinic is open M-​F.

My daughter fractured her leg at school. We got x rays done showing the broken leg and they made her a protective boot until we could get the orthopedic for a follow up. The medical care was very good. The wait was very reasonable. The staff was very nice.
THE PROBLEM: was that they could not give us copies of the x rays. They will not email anything and I spent days in an endless loop of fruitless Bureaucracy. Apparently only 1 person on staff has the magical power to make a CD copy of x rays and she was not available Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday. so my daughter got more x rays at the follow up appointment.

Doctor was incredibly rude to my wife and our younger son during my older son’s checkup. If a doctor is not socially equipped to deal with children in a medical practice, he should not take appointments for young children. If a doctor has been in medicine more than a decade he should know that it comes with the territory, where mothers struggle to make small errands happen. Do yourself a favor and find a real pediatrician if you have children. They don’t seem to be welcome here. So much for family practice…

We really needed an X-​ray specialist and there wasn’t one available that night.

Sometimes you need to see a doctor and can’t wait till next week to be fit in. I have to say, this place was pretty awesome at getting me in to see a doctors appointment on a very short notice. This morning I was having some health issues that, while not requiring a trip to the ER, did leave me unable to work and not feeling too confident about just staying in bed and napping it off. I was able to call at 12:10 this afternoon and get an appointment for 1, with a 12:45 check in to take in insurance and emergency contact info. I went into the downstairs, not quite urgent (but the same day clinic, I guess) and got checked in by some very nice ladies. I got my paperwork done and didnt have to wait at all past my 1 PM check in time. Dr. Huoang is efficient, has a good bedside manner, and was very thorough in her exam and in explaining what she thought could be wrong with me, as well as what to do in case what I experienced this morning happens while I’m on the clock, and not beforehand. She «wrote» (emailed it to the pharmacy of my choice) me a prescription that was immediately sent off to the Bartells near my house.
I was in, checked out, and out with a prescription and a doctors note in an hour. Props!

I have been going to Highline Medical for quite sometime now. The area is very convenient for me especially the new building which was where the old Huling Bros Jeep and Chrysler was but smells much nicer, almost like a new doctors office smell.
My doctor, Katherine Hoang is awesome, i really like her and how nice and understanding she is. I tried other doctors there and some of them are no longer there, but I feel she is the best there. Linda has usually been the nurse to call me back and she is always friendly and nice, she strikes up funny conversations that makes you feel more comfortable seeing the doctor.
Waiting usually doesn’t happen often, I haven’t had to wait to long, the new building actually makes it a little better for waiting and the TV is in a nice place to pass the time in case it’s busy or you came early.
