Foxglove Guesthouse

Foxglove Guesthouse is by far the best place I have ever stayed! It’s seriously cleaner and homier than any hotel or Air bnb I have ever been to. I have stayed there on three separate occasions now and have had the same amazing experience. The first time I went, my husband had waited until last minute to find us a hotel but he stumbled upon Foxglove and oh man are we glad he did! We LOVED it. It was so fantastic that I brought my best girlfriend there and then most recently brought my mom and my sister. The house is beautiful and oh so cozy. Theres a great fireplace in the common room you can enjoy and John puts out breakfast every morning and it is such a beautiful display of an assortment of foods! I am a huge coffee drinker and even after breakfast is over, he leaves the coffee out for a bit so you can come enjoy more if you want! The location is fantastic, in Capitol Hill which is such a fun area of town and you can walk to grocery stores, public transportation and an assortment of shops and restaurants. It’s about a 2 mile walk to Pikes Place and same distance to the Space needle. We enjoyed the walk and if you don’t want to walk back up hill, the über ride back from those locations is about $ 8.00! I have nothing negative to say about Foxglove and I can’t wait to go back!

This beautiful home is located in a quiet residential neighborhood but is only about 7 minutes on foot from the bars and restaurants on 15^th Ave. Super comfy bed, very clean room and bathroom, beautiful garden and generous continental breakfast (warm croissants, cheese, fresh milk in a bottle, granola cereal, yogurt, blueberry muffins, and an awesome assortment of fruit). This isn’t the kind of place where the owners are super chatty and constantly around, but John made calls to help us book another b&b for our second night since his rooms were full. Not cheap– we paid $ 145 for room #1 when we visited in late September– but the hotels in Seattle are super pricey and many were booked in early Fall. Would stay here again without hesitation. PS — we did not meet Bert, unfortunately!

A beautiful home, wonderfully appointed rooms, lovely breakfast and a great host! It felt so luxurious and comfortable staying here. Walking distance to downtown and the local neighborhood which has some excellent restaurants, coffee houses, shopping and bars. Highly recommended.

Stunningly restored craftsmen with period antiques, immaculately maintained. Fresh, delicious breakfast that was just right. Close to stores, health club. Convenient capital city location

I’m writing this review as I am a guest at the Foxglove. I originally was going to stay at the ACE but by recommendations of a friend she told me to stay here. This place is beautiful. The home is located in Capitol Hill which is in my opinion the spot where everything is. It is literally a short walk to amazing restaurants and bars and music venues. I arrived yesterday and was greeted by John. How he keeps an immaculate warm inviting place is amazing. I felt right at home and super excited after being given a list and a map where he had suggested many good spots for me to visit while in town. If you like quaint neighborhoods and turn of the century homes then Foxglove is for you!
The bed is comfy and the entire room is lovely. GET ROOM 2! The claw foot bath tub is a perk and the little «living room» area has an amazing view. It’s easy to get here too for those like me who rather not rent a car and use publi transpiration and walk every where. It’s a short ride on the Light Rail into Westlake and a short cab ride. It cost less than $ 20 for me to get here something more like $ 18 and some change. Whereas a cab ride would be around $ 40+
The continental breakfast here is also good. Fresh fruit, coffee (good coffee) yogurt and fresh pastries are also good. I normally wouldn’t stay in a B&B unless in Europe but this place is rad. Young folks stay here too!!!
I have to say waking up and walking downstairs this morning to the fireplace going and a lovely breakfast and tons of coffee was a good way to kick off my morning. Then it began to snow! I’m smitten!
Perks. Easy to get to and located near everything. Free WI-​FI, relaxed guest keeper and helpful. Cozy clean rooms!!! His dog which he doesn’t allow in the house is super cute and i want to take him home… The dog not John.

I am so incredibly busy that if I stop to write a review, trust and believe it is because there is something about the business that is far outside the ordinary. Such is the case with my recent weekend trip to Seattle where my fiancé and I received the warmest welcome and expert advice the moment we arrived at the Foxglove Bed and Breakfast.
The pictures of the Foxglove property shown on the website looked so nice that I actually became skeptical because the rate for the weekend was more than reasonable, but we were happy to find everything was just as it appeared in the photos and then some!
The owners were easy to reach whenever I needed anything at all (even an icepack), the room was quite large and immaculately clean with a fantastic bed that I wish was my own, and the breakfast was delicious including several varieties of the freshest fruit, lovely baked pastries and piping hot Seattle coffee.
Most of all, we were treated like their very special guests, and that made our stay all the more memorable. Many thanks to John and Daniel. They truly understand how to make to guests feel comfortable and appreciated. I only wish we could have stayed longer, but rest assured we will be back again soon.

This is my home away from home in Seattle. This was my second time staying at the Foxglove and my experience was as good as the one I had three years ago.
First of all this a great home which was built in 1905 in the Capitol Hill section of the city and it has retained every bit off it’s charm.
The house is located only two blocks from the bus stop giving you easy and quick access to downtown Seattle and all of the sites. (about a 10 min bus ride)
The owner of the house, John, keeps immaculate care of the place so if you have any worries about cleanliness, leave those concerns behind… this won’t be a problem at Foxglove.
I really can’t say enough good things about this place … why bother with a hotel room downtown when you can rest a lot more comfortably in a house like this.
I look forward to staying at the Foxglove again in the near future.

My husband and I stayed here last week for 1 night. I’m sad we only stayed for the one evening… I would’ve loved to stay much longer! The house is beautifully decorated and charming. Our room had a mini fridge (so nice for restaurant leftovers!) and a great view of their backyard garden. I really loved that they served a continental breakfast (fruit, cheese, yogurt, croissants, juice, coffee… very yummy!)…much more relaxed than other b&b’s we’ve stayed at. I hate the pressure of smalltalk with other guests at 8 am… not really our thing. The owner, John, was very friendly and welcoming. We’ll definitely stay here again!
