Lots of quirky little gifts and homegoods. The prices seemed reasonable, and there was a ton of stuff I’d never seen anywhere before. A neat space.

I love the Fireworks stores, all of them! They all pretty much have the same stuff (or kind of stuff). I used to frequent the location in Westlake Mall (which gets SUPER crowded during the holidays), but I now work within 2 blocks of the Pioneer Square location, so I go there. It was nice that a week before Christmas they didn’t have a massive crowd!
This Fireworks is like the other locations I’ve been to as far as inventory and type of gifts. They do have an upstairs portion that has discounted items (for various reasons), so that is a plus! Just be sure to inspect whatever it is you want to buy, as many have defects.
Some people think that this is a kid’s store based on the colorful exterior and the types of items they display in their windows, but that’s not true! They do carry some toys and child/​baby oriented items, but they carry a lot of adult only items (I found some cute «weed» containers, a few awesome slightly vulgar flasks, shot glasses, etc…) as well as things you can give to just about any member of your family. They have an odd assortment, and many of the items might make you go «What the ****?» if you aren’t in the right sort of mindset, so it’s a fun place to be.
One reason why I took away a star is because of the employees. I’ve been to this location a half dozen times so far, and one of the ladies who works there is SUPER nice and helpful! But, some of the other employees seem to lack customer service or just have a bad attitude in general. I had one employee continuously bump into me (I’m not a large person or anything) and wouldn’t even say «excuse me» when he knocked me out of his way — though I said it, of course. The other employees seem to just really not want to be there — it’s pretty obvious by the looks on their faces and the way they seem bugged/​irritated if you ask for help with an item or have a question.
If you’re waiting for the ferry or just in Pioneer Square, it’s worth checking out for sure! Things are a little pricy (If you looked them up online you could save a few bucks) but I don’t mind paying a little more to have a place to browse every few weeks.

I want everything in this store!!! Perfect spot for unique gifts, an awesome scarf or a well made purse or bag. They have stacks of books that are hysterical, kitchen gadgets you have never heard of but suddenly need and even lotions and décor. This store really has a little bit of everything.

I LOVE this store. It is the most random store ever. Very fun to look around at all their cool novelty items :)

I went to this store and bought around $ 100 worth of items, and thought everything there was really neat. The guy at the register was really nice and my experience was pleasant.
Later in the day I brought a friend back to see the store. We wanted to buy multiple iron-​weld items, all from the same artist, so we asked the cashier if he would do a discounted combined sale. He went and got the manager to ask.
A middle aged woman came over with a scowl on her face. She didn’t say «hi», she just stared at us. Finally I said «hi» and we asked if they do discounts for multiple purchases from the same artist. She had a look of disgust on her face and said very rudely «THIS ISN’T MEXICO!!!» We were blown away by the rudeness. She could of just replied «no, sorry», but she was nasty. She then said «I can’t believe your request! Would you go into The Gap and ask them to discount your clothes?!?» I replied that lots of boutiques will usually bargain on art, and it wasn’t meant to be insulting in any way. She replied «I’d go out of business if I offered discounts!»
We wanted to buy lots of additional items from the store in the future, totaling close to $ 1,000, and after that experience I will NEVER go back.
I see from the other reviews on here that other people have encountered this woman. I’m sorry everyone else had to deal with her too…

This place is a great place if you are having a difficult time finding a gift for a friend/​coworker. They have a huge arrangement of corky gifts to give!
I noticed that some of the prices there are a tad higher than most places so if you are looking for a $ 20 and under gift, you might find it here but it will be small.
Staff may be really busy or just not that attentive. I had a few questions once, and they didn’t have the corky response that goes with the corky gifts. It was more of an annoyed response.
I did hear that they received «Best Gift Shop,» by Seattle Magazine and I see why that is. THEY HAVE SO MUCH STUFF! It’s almost overwhelming how much stuff fits in that store. And alot of them are things you would never even think of.
My only wish is that they had better pricing and friendlier staff.

Perfect place for a last minute gift! You can always count on Fireworks to have interesting and funny trinkets that are usually a big hit. I have yet to have a disappointed gift receiver when I have purchased an item for them from Fireworks.
This location is especially nice because they have a large loft area upstairs with discount/​sale items. But beware, those items are all final sale. You may want to think hard before you buy a one of a kind bacon wall clock.
Customer service doesn’t seem to be of high importance here. But it’s okay, since you can easily navigate the store yourself with little to no help.

So I have been to this place several times over the last couple of years. I have to say they are very consistent in one thing and that is lack of customer service. I don’t know if they are trained in the art of not acknowledging a person or what, but they seem super wrapped up in whatever it is they do behind the counter. Very disapointing :-(

Quirky, fun, and interesting little gifts, jewelry, cards and tschotskes. There’s always something for everyone, even if they are somewhat overpriced (I’m sure their rent is VERY high, so I don’t fault them at all for their prices, just don’t want potential Unilocalers to go in thinking they’ll find something here that is cheap).
I always enjoy just «window shopping» here whenever I’m in Pioneer Square (which is at least once a month, since I work downtown), and I always see at least 20 things I’d love to have, even if I don’t actually need to have them.
My only complaint is that the shopkeepers here make me feel like they’re watching my every move, and/​or suspect I’m trying to steal. I’ve been going into this shop for at least 4 years, and they ALWAYS do this. Perhaps it’s their location (not to mention the plethora of homeless that give the area a much-​deserved «shady» rating IMO) that has made them wary of everyone who walks through their front door, but it sure does make for a lousy shopping/​browsing experience. I work in Pioneer Square, and I LIVE/​SHOP in Seattle, and I’m by no means a scruffy-​looking riff-​raff kind of person… so for crying out loud, stop treating me like one when I’m in your shop. Just sayin.

If you are looking for a quirky, one-​of-​a-​kind gift, Fireworks is the place! There are a few different locations in the Seattle area, and any of them are as good as the next. This particular store has a bargain/​clearance section upstairs — you can get great gifts at very low prices.
Everyone I’ve taken into Fireworks with me has loved it. They carry Momiji dolls (my favorite!), funky ice cube trays, wacky books, Jewish décor, unique kitchen utensils, kitschy lights, crazy lawn ornaments, silly buttons, etc. Sure, it’s a little spendy but it’s fantastic!

Very pricey but cool stuff — the people inside all seemed touristy (especially my dad) but they have a good selection of «stuff» … no complaints

Fireworks is kinda a combination of ThinkGeek and Urban Outfitters, with cute and quirky gifts. It is a little pricey, but you have to consider the uniqueness of he place.
Some fun items we saw:

–Eiffel Tower imprint for your bread to make «French toast»
–Toothbrush bacteria assassin
–Books (think Stuff White People Like and Man’s Survival Guide)
Guy behind the counter seemed friendly but a female organized the merchandise in the back didn’t seem to like it when I called over my husband to see something I found completely adorable (I’ll text him next time, like you should in a library.)
Upstairs is on-​sale items, though don’t be surprised to be confused-«Is it on sale? I saw this downstairs too.» Was disappointed to see Christmas tree ornaments were still not exactly a clearance price (come on you guys, its April) but you get lucky and find just what you’re looking for.

This place could be a vibrant business if the owners cared about how customers are treated. I went here with a group of friends as we were browsing around Pioneer Square. The displays seemed interesting, so we popped in — immediately there was an old lady with glasses who just glared at us in a most unfriendly manner. She did not say hello or make us feel welcome at all. After about 10 minutes looking at all the little trinkets, I paid for my purchase, and when I left, there she was AGAIN, GLARING at me as if I was about to shoplift something on my way out. What a bad vibe she gives off! Others in my party said the same thing. I won’t be coming back.

So here’s the deal.
I worked for many years in retail, as a buyer and seller.
I know that you can pretty much go anywhere to buy stuff, competition is FIERCE.
Seattle has a lot of peculiar, wacky stores (Hi Archie McPhee) and elegant, handmade boutiques (smooches to Laura Bee). Fireworks is a combination of both, which gives it a little head-​start, in the race to take your money.
The thing that perplexed me about the store was the service. On the one hand a very nice younger woman helped me with my search, sent me upstairs to shop the immense (but still pricey) sale section and offered to hold my choices while I looked around.
On the other hand, the last impression I left with, was almost discourteous in nature. An older woman rang up my sale without EVER LOOKING AT ME. I was buying all sale merchandise but it still amounted to $ 50. She gruffly told me to put in my pin and when I thanked her she merely said, «you’re welcome,» as if it were a great imposition on her fully-​packed schedule of being a GRINCH.
Really? REALLY? I don’t need a hug or a parade or confetti to come down from the ceiling because I bought some stuff but just an acknowledgment of my existence would have been plenty. The store was nearly empty and now I know why.
Later Pioneer Square location, see ya, wouldn’t want to be ya.

As the only place to pick up greeting cards in Pioneer Square, I find myself here from time to time. In fact, I popped in today on my way back to work from picking up lunch. I was one of two customers in the whole place, with 3 women working behind the counter. When I couldn’t find what I was looking for (Halloween greeting cards) I took it upon myself to approach the counter and ask for help, seeing as how none of the 3 women working bothered to acknowledge me prior. Oddly, two of the women had fled already, and the one remaining lady returned my «Hi» with a muttered «hi» as she TURNED AWAY FROM ME and blatantly ignored me.
A lot of places have gone out of business or moved out of Pioneer Square. I wish this place was one of them. If they don’t want my business then I’ll take the hint and not give it to them.
Don’t get me wrong the quirky crap they sell is neato and well, quirky. But you really can find all of that stuff somewhere else in Seattle (ever heard of Gifted in Ballard?)

It’s a great place to window shop and a good place to find functional, quirky art and crafts. This place is full of cute, modern stuff, local artisan jewerly, luggage tags, funny cards, funky lamps, toys and ceramics. (They have a store at the SEA-​TAC airport also)
Tip: Go to the 2^nd floor where you will find lots of discounted items. Some are even 50% off. :)

Every time I’m on my afternoon trying to get all the lunch out of my belly walk, I come here to Fireworks before pushing on to Global Books (totally different Unilocal!) They have great hand bags there, and I was able to get the cutest change purse for me to change out money for people that need to feed the meter at work. I drool over all the stuff there I don’t need, but love to wander around and see all the new displays. There is a Death Mask there that I can’t stop thinking about, will never get, and don’t need… but can’t get it out of my mind. I just wish they sold more piggy banks there. They have a bunch a cute children’s stuff as well, and I’m planning on purchasing a lunch bag there. Really, I just love walking in and wishing everything in it was mine

I went here and had trouble finding Poppers. What type of place is out of Poppers? They also must have sold out of Roman Candles and Bottle Rockets. No Piccolo Petes, Snakes or Ground Bloom Flowers! Hell, they didn’t even have Sparklers. Is it too much to ask that a place called Fireworks actually sell fireworks? Apparently, yes it is.
The stuff they do sell here is definitely very neat but expensive and sadly non-​explosive.

You mean I, too, can own a stapler shaped like a trout.
All kidding aside this place is loads of fun, but also contains items that really make your life more enjoyable. From amazing purses to decorative works, a life with small bits of art is one that everyone should lead. Some of the prices are a little high, but window shopping has never been this much fun.

Love this store! They always have interesting jewelry and cool gifts. Got my niece a gnome lamp for her dorm room and it was a hit on the floor. They have a satellite store at Sea-​tac airport now. They have a website you can order stuff from but the store has more.
