Used to use this guy. He was very personable and did the job well. Then as another person as mentioned stopped returning communication. I wrote a few times about very important stuff over a period of a few months. Still haven’t heard from him since early 2015. I found a different CPA. Not sure if he is even alive or in prison or what. You never know.
He also gave me bad advice on what to do as far as moving forward with my business which has caused a massive amount of problems. They’ve been rectified, but took many months.

Brandon has been doing an excellent job handling my family’s tax returns since we returned to Seattle from the UK in 2012. He is very thorough and adept at handling complicated tax matters like foreign filings. Brandon uses really good judgment about advising my husband and me on our tax returns and we are grateful that he is our accountant. I am in the process of starting my own small business in the next year or two. I will also continue to ask Brandon to help me with tax filings when that day arrives.
I’d like to address Ken M’s review of Brandon. Several years ago, I left Brandon a voicemail about setting up an initial consultation (it was between October — December) and didn’t hear back for some time. It turns out he was on vacation and he returned my call as soon as he got back to the office. (Note I didn’t freak out and leave a one star review over the experience either. I gave Brandon some time to return my call since it wasn’t urgent). Given that CPAs have a busy season from January to April in which they must work weekends, give him the benefit of the doubt. He will get back to you.
Brandon is an amazing CPA. He is knowledgeable and works in your best interest to avoid being audited. He’s organized and efficient. He receives many 5 star ratings for a reason. I highly recommend him if you need a trustworthy accountant. I’d give him 100 gold stars if I could.

IRS sent me a $ 20,000+ tax demand on my personal filing from a previous year that I knew was wrong, but I had no idea how to explain it to IRS. I called Brandon Ferguson (from Unilocal recommendations) and told him what I thought the problem was and he agreed. I emailed all my information to him, he contacted them on my behalf, and within weeks I received a letter from IRS rescinding their demand. What a relief! I started a new consulting business last year. Based on his reviews, I met with him to discuss issues concerning the startup. I immediately appreciated his understanding of the tax laws and his ability to explain them.
It was then that I decided to use him for our income taxes as well! I had never used a tax accountant for our income taxes, but I knew I needed one for last year’s taxes — new business and a house sale.

I was referred to Brandon when I needed help getting all of my finances together in advance of my home purchase. He was nice and helpful when I first met with him and answered my emails quickly and got all of my tax stuff organized. I liked him so much that I used him again for a couple more years and referred my friends to him, too. However, a couple of years into working with him, during one tax season, he didn’t return several calls or emails for months. Some of my friends said they could never get a hold of him, either. I don’t know what happened, but by the time he responded, it was late in the tax season and I had to scramble to find another accountant.

You need him on speed dial. Not for Al Capone-​tax-​dodging reasons, just because you want a guy on your side as your pay your hard-​earned money towards our taxation nation. Make it count… but in all ways fair.
The Mr. of this equation has been seeing Brandon Ferguson for a few years. Before I got married, I had the simplest tax return on Earth: earnings, 401(k), and some donations. We own our home and rental property together, but I always LITERALLY left that to Mr. Ferguson to work out.
So this year, I was married (!) and had to be included in all this tax nonsense. I say nonsense, but the truth of the matter is that I’m very familiar with taxes and how they work (stoopid work).
Brandon checked in with us on the regular regarding tax paperwork he needed. He was like the proverbial mother-​in-​law in the GOOD way; and when we figured out our final return: newly married, rental property, residence property… I was happy that he explained everything in plain English, (I could have taken more tax jargon, really!) and [he] found each exception he could, explaining what needed to be taken, etc.)
THIS GUY. He’s a CPA. He studied [and paid the] same amount as everybody else to gain this certification. I find it funny that ONE person complained about the price that you pay for a person that is on both your side, AND the LAW’S side of things. He’s looking out for your best interest ALWAYS; and frankly, H&R Block are terrific people, but to say that you have an accountant of your own is not some kind of weird status thing, it’s knowing that you have somebody who will best advise you on how get through this crazy tax world.
I’m embarrassed to say how little we paid for this amazing service, so I’ll leave it to you to call him yourself. We found him via Unilocal years ago and will never EVER look to another to take care of us.

Super impressed with this gentleman! I am a small business owner and recently we took our business from a «hobby» to the «full meal deal», so to speak. I’m good at what I do, but I’m not a bookkeeper… and as everyone knows, when you are a small business, you have to learn to wear all sorts of hats.
I was very nervous about our taxes this year. Unsure if I’d done them right… if I’d missed obvious deducts, unsure if I needed to amend after more documents arrived in the mail. I called Brandon. He asked us to come in for a free consult at which point he’d let us know if we needed help or not.
During the consult, Brandon poured over all of my tax documents and records. He gave me a few tips on how to re-​categorize things and said everything looked good and that we didn’t need his services at this point. What?! He even told us to call him if we ran into things we were unsure about during the year. I love running into other small businesses that share the core value of being honest and not taking advantage of people who aren’t ‘in the know’.
So, while I now know that I could continue to do my own taxes using Turbotax in the future, I won’t be doing that. I will be bringing my tax business to Brandon. I won’t have to worry or struggle with it and I am confident that he’s trustworthy, knowledgeable and honest. He’s also really friendly, explains things in layman’s terms and has a great sense of humor. I highly recommend him.

Overall very pleased with Brandon. He’s easy to talk to, has wealth of finance expertise, and charged a reasonable rate. I will definitely use his service again!

I was introduced to Ferguson Tax and Brandon from Unilocal.I read all the reviews but I still, by nature, proceed with a bit of caution. After meeting him, my guard started going down. First, he’s not a dry, boring cpa. Then you start getting the sense that he knows his stuff. I’ve been self employed for 20 years and always handled the books so it’s not like he’s doing a 1040ez for me. Then he answers the phone and emails are replied to promptly. Simply put: Brandon is incredible, on all possible levels. Hire him to help you with your taxes and you’ll get incredible, friendly customer service, phenomenal advice, and – at least in my case – a much higher return than you a.) thought possible and b.) could have achieved on your own.

I found Ferguson Tax Services thanks to Unilocal and it was my first time using a CPA. My husband and I are newlyweds and have some financial investments, etc so we wanted to have someone with a sharp eye take a look so we lowered the risk of auditing.
Brandon got back to me after a day or so and we set up a time for us to come in and have him take a look.
The office itself was a bit of a strange setup as it’s in a office park but there is a lock on the door (the kind with a keycode) and you can’t get in. You kind of have to knock/​jiggle the door until someone comes to let you in.
Brandon took all of our forms (W-2’s, 1099’s, etc) and answered all of our questions (which took about an hour) and then told us that we’d be in the que of taxes and should probably take about a week to 10 days before he would get back to us.
I had used an accountant before who did it on site and I left with my completed 1040 but Brandon said he’d need time to look it over and review.
Being that it is busy tax season (March), it took a little over 2 weeks before we heard back from Brandon (which is understandable but also a little on the hmph side). He emailed us a summary form and setup an appointment time for us to come in and pay and get our originals back.
I felt really comfortable in his skills and the knowledge he offered but the price was the one reason for the ding as it is $ 250 per hour which is rough. They’re located in North Seattle so you’d think it’d not be more than places ‘in’ Seattle.

Being a poor college student with a tight budget (and four years of taxes that needed to get done ASAP), I contacted the six top rated Tax Services places close to Seattle.
Only three got back to me, and Brandon had the best price. The guy is so honest and comprehensive that he gave me a discount for doing all four years as a bundle. He explained everything he did in detail and answered all my questions and kept the communication rolling from start to finish. I’ll gladly seek his business next time.
