Bagels are small, dense, and expensive. If I didn’t occasionally find myself desperate for convenient carbs I’d never go back.

I’m puzzled at so much liking a place others found badly wanting. My take on this branch of Eltana is entirely positive: bagels, schmears, coffee, location, staff. The bagels are small and chewy, as bagels should be. They are uncommonly tasty. The schmears are first-rate, even the plain cream cheese. I haven’t tried anything but bagels and schmears and coffee, so I can’t comment on sandwiches &c. What I have tried is terrific and brings me back time and again.

The bagels were flat and dense. It literally looks and tastes like bagels you could get at the grocery store. The sausage and egg were flavorless and most likely frozen. A few dashes of salt and pepper would’ve done the breakfast sandwich wonders. The spicy garlic cream cheese was very good though! The breakfast was underwhelming and not worth the price.

There were some positive things but overall an underwhelming experience. First, I like the smaller size of the bagels and the fact that they have a crisp crust. I was not a fan of the flavor, they were kind of boring on my palate and the spreads were just ok. They must ship the bagels in because they are not fresh and there is not a wood fired stove onsite. I probably won’t be back, too bad. I prefer the bagel at assembly hall over this.

The first time I popped in the bagel was pretty good. The next two times I stopped in my bagels were hard and after being placed in the toaster slightly burnt. O, but today… The toaster was not working and my bagel was toasted in a pan… It did not toast the bagel at all. I wish I would have received a heads up that the toaster was out before I bit into my bagel.

I love these bagels! They are the perfect size and the honey almond spread keeps me coming back for more. The new SLU location is very classy and a great place to hang out and do a crossword puzzle. I have been a fan of Eltana since they opened in Capital Hill and am so excited to see this new location.

Unbelievable. Unbelievably bad. Old, hard, stale bagels. No wood-fired oven… must be bringing in 1 – 2 day old bagels from Capitol Hill location? Being a South Lake Union resident, I was super excited to check-out a new weekend bagel/breakfast joint.(Side note: the prices? $ 8+ for an egg sandwich?) After this experience, I guess Einstein’s ain’t so bad after all! :/

Went here the other day for lunch. Bagels we’re hard to eat and loaded with way too many ingredients. It’s a very mess affair. The food I ordered, Moroccan shredded beef, was okay but nothing special. Way too expensive for a bagel and a side of slaw. $ 12 can /should get you so much more.
