So delicious. Best carnitas around. But… the whole«no minors after 4pm» is dumb when they have a separate bar area. And the service is friendly but often sporadic. Don’t sit in the back. I will still go for the bomb tacos and good enchiladas, but just wish they would change the age policy.

Great location, great service, great vibes, great guacamole… We got tacos. Chicken, shrimp and fish… Unfortunately, none of them tasted nearly as good as they looked. The sauce they put on the shredded chicken and fish … For lack of better words… Tasted a lot like what I imagine dog food tasting like… I’d give it another try, but was not stoked to pay $ 25 for four odd tasting tacos.

Every Time we are Seattle, we have to stop @ El Borracho for tacos. This places has the best tacos! Highly recommended. The food is very tasty. The first time we visited this place, we knew the food would be excellent just by tasting the salsa for the chips. They have the best variety of salsa for your tacos. This is our spot!

My friend & I went there for happy hour and we basically payed $ 4 dollars for lemonade as that’s all we tasted while we were drinking those margaritas.

The most amazing tacos! Ordered a variety of tacos from the menu and our 2 favs were the goat and the beef cheeks! You definitely wanna order their guacamole and chips! It’s pretty incredible! Their drink menu is priced right and has an incredible tequila list. Service was fast and food came very quickly! We did not go during happy hour but the prices were reasonable!

Awesome happy hour spot downtown! Their happy hour goes from 4−7pm, which is great for someone who doesn’t work downtown and needs commute time after work. Their El Cheapo Margs do the trick at $ 4 each! The tacos are delicious. I’ve never had potato in a taco before but I loved the ones that we tried. We ordered a round of seconds on the carnitas and the al pastor. We also got an order of chips, salsa, and guac. The bowl of chips was huge! I’m pretty sure they just use Juanitas brand chips, and they weren’t served warm, but hey, take it or leave it. Juanitas are my favorite brand of chips to buy for home anyways. A really cheap place to get a bite to eat. Light vibe and clean. The service was minimal but who cares?! Our bill for 2 with drinks was under $ 25! I’m a girl who believes that a taco should NEVER cost more than $ 3, and I found my spot! It’s surprisingly a pretty decent and authentic Mexican place for Seattle.

My boyfriend and I stumble across this place and figured we’ll give it a try. There wasn’t much customers considering it was a busy day at the pike. We ordered the nacho which was delicious. It was packed with cheese, meat, and everything else that made it great. One nacho was more than enough for us. Sara was our waitress and she was friendly and great! We’ll definitely be back

El Borracho is a great Mexican restaurant in the Pike Place Market area of downtown Seattle. I have been here twice now. The first time was more of a stumbling across and the second visit was quite purposeful. First of all you really need to get their chips and guacamole! The guacamole is stellar! Amazing stuff! As far as the rest of the menu goes the menu options for the filling that makes up much of the menu comes in burrito or taco form. The last time I was here I got the lamb burrito along with chile salsa, onion and cilantro with the burrito filling in addition which comprises of red or green rice(I got green, yummy), black or refried beans(I got black, yummy also) along with cheese and pico de gallo. The burrito was awesome and the portion was generous! I wasn’t able to finish it so I brought some yumminess home with me. The first time I was here I got their Poblano and Potato burrito which also was amazing. That time I had it wet with kind of a red chile sauce which is very good, unique! Up by the front door there are more sauces you can add to your tacos or burrito or other menu options. The margaritas are great and there is a nice, hearty list of all kinds of different flavors and varieties. I love this place and it is one of the better Mexican joints in the market area and it shows. It is usually very busy but the two times I have been here I can usually squeak in right at the nick of time and land a small table for two.

Totally decent Mexican food in Seattle?! Why wasn’t I expecting this? Oh… maybe because I’m a Seattle newbie and everyone told me not to expect good Mexican food here. Well, whatever. El Borracho is my jam. 1) Can I get an «AMEN» for being mere blocks away from this place? A-hells-yes. I think it was a 6 minute walk? 2) MISSIONSTYLEBURRITOS. I’ve been seeking a damn good, non-Taco del Mar/Chipotle burrito for what seems like forever, but really it’s just been weeks. El Borracho did not disappoint. I love the protein choices, especially the shredded chicken. I picked the red rice, refried beans, cheese and pico, but opted out of the sour cream. I also added guac. Welp, the guac was forgotten by the kitchen, but I didn’t notice. The burrito was huge, delicious and properly wrapped. I had to eat it with a fork and knife! One thing I’d change next time around is the pico. I love salsas, but there was way too much in the burrito, making it watery and too onion-y. 3) TACOS! I didn’t get to try any, but my guy got a big plate of them. And seeing as how he is half Mexican and he cleaned his plate, I’m thinking they’re good here. 4) The salsa and guac are solid, plus the chips are fresh and properly salted. Nothing is worse than fresh chips that aren’t properly salted. And you can’t salt them once they’re at your table, since it doesn’t stick. The guac has lots of diced tomato and onion, so as long as you like those things in your g’mole, you’re good. My boyfriend hates tomatoes and onion, so he didn’t like it. The salsa is super fresh and is smooth, rather than a chunky pico. Lastly, even though we stopped in on a Saturday evening for a late dinner, we were still seated right away and served quickly. No complaints from me. Can’t wait to come back and try those cheapo margs!

I’ve read that these were some of the best tacos in Seattle and we were not disappointed. I tried the potato and poblano taco with a side of refried beans – really good. My friends also liked the tacos they ordered. Seems like it would be a good late-night option for tacos.

I heard from several locals that El Borracho has the best radishes in Seattle. And to my delight, they were correct. My steady Friday night Grindr date, Hunter, and I both thought the radishes in our tacos were exquisite. The only thing I love more than a edible root vegetable is the warm rotten fish at the nearby sushi burrito stand, GaBurri. I love radishes but nothing can beat the smell and taste of a hot decomposing sea creature served from the trunk of a Chevy Impala. The tacos here are lovely but their radishes are a divine culinary treat that every Seattle humanoid should sample. My only suggestion is that more radishes should be in their dishes. For example, one time I came here and my dining companion Kellan only had one radish in his taco.

Awesome happy hour! This spot is so conveniently located right in downtown, with good food and drinks and incredibly affordable prices. $ 4 beer and $ 1 and $ 2 tacos mean you can really get your Taco Tuesday(or taco anyday) on without letting your wallet taking a hit. Sure, the tacos are pretty small but they’re delicious and you can really load up on em. The chorizo, pollo, and carnitas ones are my personal favorites, but if you’ve got a buddy you can honestly just try them all. Their outdoor seating is nice for people watching and warm days, when the inside can get pretty toasty. Service is quick and friendly, and it’s actually not overrun with tourists, which is surprising given its proximity to Pike Place. Great place to meet up with a friend after work.

Five stars just for the vegan nachos! My brother was really enthusiastic about his burrito with guacamole, too. No minors allowed in the front bar area, but the lower seating area in the back is fine for kids. All the vegan options look fantastic!(3 types of tacos, burrito, nachos) Try the nachos!

Before heading up to Seattle, I heard recommendations for El Boracho. This particular location was not too far from our hotel, actually on the road back. The place was packed. and I was doubtful it was going to work for us since I was famished and I didn’t want to wait too long. We were shown to a table right away. The waitress was very busy, so we weren’t waited on at first. But once she took our order, it started going a lot quicker. I ordered the vegan quesadilla with mushrooms and rice and beans. My partner got a taco with rice and beans. It was all so fantastic! Will definitely go back next time I am in town!

In Seattle, neat Pike Place, and rave reviews! I am, or was excited! That excitement was short lived. For me, the food was bland, small portions *the burrito*, you have to pay for chips and salsa and ordering chicken nachos will cost you $ 3.69 extra with no warning! I get that they have a location in a prime location and for that there has to be higher prices, but to charge for some bagged chips, Juanita’s chip boxes are in the hallway and up on the racks of the ceiling for storage, and salsa that failed flat. Ask for a side of sour cream you get a little 2 oz. cup, which most places give you a small bowl; however, again, the location is costly so I can somewhat get it. When you walk in there are a few tables by the bar. Kids can’t go up there or enter that door. I thought that was pretty cool. Walk through the bar and walk down two or three stairs and there is another sitting area with a door that leads to Pike Place Market. The room is small as well, but they do well with the space. In Sum, I love Mexican food and rarely have a complaint. I need to have small portions, but when I was on vacation and saw that I was paying close to $ 13.00 for something half the price as everywhere else, I am not a fan. I won’t visit this location again that I can think and it really has nothing to do with a horrid story, but rather that there is so many different places to try and this one really didn’t do anything that wanted me to come back again.

Oh man, what a delightful surprise this place was! Bestie and I were on the hunytfor some solid dinner before imbibing several beverages(you get me), and the rave reviews for this place intrigued us. They had some good veggie options for bestie, and some good meaty ones for me so we gave it a go. I have to say I was skeptical of a place this close to Pike Place being great, but it really felt like a local’s hidden gem(somehow!) We waited for 5−10mins for a table, which was super fast for it being Saturday night! The service was quick and friendly, and the cheapo margarita was reasonably enthusiastically recommended. We both ordered doubles and I have to say, they were great! Almost as good as we make at home, which is saying something! I had the shredded pork with chili-pumpkin sauce, and the tinga de pollo. There’s a reason there’s a dollar difference in price here — the chicken taco was delicious, but there was about 1⁄3 the filling of the pork taco. It was still plenty of filling to enjoy the taco, and the pork one was a little intimidating to fit in my mouth! I really enjoyed the flavours of the pork taco — it was exactly what I wanted. We also treated ourselves to sharing their guacamole, which is INSANELYGOOD! Seriously, go try it right now, it’s bonkers. We had such a great time chilling here, it’s definitely going to be a go-to for future trips down.

El Borracho pretty much sums up my ultimate vacation. Drunk. Mexican food. Although I was surprisingly sober when I came here. What was even more astonishing was that my babygirl was not hungry at all. I had to check her temperature to make sure she was feeling alright. Then again, she only goes with me to Mexican places to satiate my cravings since she isn’t a fan. While their Vegan menu may be small, it is comprised of everything you would want to order anyways. Burritos, tacos, nachos, etc. The prices are on the high end but then again, it is located smack dab in tourist central. I ordered up an «El Cheapo» Margarita to help take care of that sober trouble. It was tasty and strong. You can gussie it up for twice the price by asking for name brand tequila but why bother when it’s mixed with so much sugar and lime? I went with the Mission style burrito, making it wet of course, for $ 1 more. Soyrizo Con Papas was my requested filling of choice. I dug in and took a huge bite of this delicious burrito. I had to take several bites of the small pieces of soyrizo before I was convinced that it wasn’t meat. Often soyrizo is served using the prepackaged bright red supermarket stuff. This was homemade so the texture was completely different and a lot less red. It had Daiya, sour cream, and guacamole which makes me happy. They have a ton of squeeze bottles of varying strengths of hot sauce on ice up front. Chips and salsa aren’t free ’round here but the refills are. It’s a happy compromise. They have either bar seating or a small bunch of tables towards the restrooms. There’s outdoor seating if you wanna people watch in the Pike Place Market area while you eat. I’ll certainly be looking forward to trying their Vegan nachos next time I wanna get borracho while on vacation to Seattle. 4 stars rounded up to 5 for having legit Vegan options.

The food is really damn good here but a tad over-priced. I’m not going to comment on the food so much because it’s good, it’s really good. I’m gonna comment on their confusing customer service. They’ve got these servers who are friendly and really helpful but they can get slammed because this place gets slammed at lunch M-F. But then they’ve got these ‘bus boys’ or whatever that bring you drinks, chips, food, etc but won’t take a fukking request from you. So if you ask for more chips, their response is, «…you can ask your server for that…» WTF is that? My server is slammed and you know it. So go get the chips. Seriously, why is that an issue? They are walking around and hovering over half-empty glasses of water. Is it really difficult to relay the message or just tap it into our order? I thought I was being ridiculous but I noticed the same thing happened at the table next to me. And this group were obviously regulars on a lunch break. Their ‘bus boy’ also directed them to their server for any requests… any requests at all. This place gets really busy but the food is definitely worth it. It’s kind of a toss-up about whether we go back.

50th review!!! Woot! Me and my friend went here for happy hour for a drink and get something to eat, as we were walking all day touring around the city. We were pretty damn hungry and we thought of this place as the name for this restaurant was pretty funny so we headed there. As we entered, the place was completely full but luckily a couple left and we took their table. The waitress was really nice as she quickly cleaned the table and brought us menus for order. This place is awesome! Besides the drinks being really cheap($ 4 a drink), they had $ 1 tacos for happy hour! The tacos were really good but a little small(which I guess makes sense since they’re a dollar and trying to maintain a profit, but still, just a little bigger would’ve been nice). They offered six different types of tacos, all of which are delicious and can’t go wrong with them. After 9 tacos and a drink, I was feeling pretty good and fueled up to continue walking through Seattle. Overall, I really enjoyed this place. It was small but i can see why people like ti and come here. I would definitely come came back to grab something to eat as well as grabbing a drink. Till next time Seattle.

Si me llega a pasar algo, no puedo volver a mi país. Una lástima.

Found this place and was immediately attracted to the idea of vegan wet burritos after a long day of driving from Vancouver. We shared a spicy sautéed mushroom Mission Style burrito with all the vegan fixin’s and topped with an ancho pumpkin seed salsa. We enjoyed a hibiscus margarita rimmed with cinnamon sugar along with chips and salsa. Service was great and very attentive! Our server made some great recommendations and was very fast!
