History

Established in 1989.

Duncan Smith graduated from photography school in 1989 and has been working in the industry ever since. After four years assisting an award winning, advertising photographer in NYC, he moved to Seattle to further his profession. His career has included ten years as senior photographer for Ama​zon​.com, first on-​staff photographer for Getty Images, and one of the first staff photographers for Microsoft. Currently Duncan has his own studio and shoots for a variety of clients including Nordstrom, Microsoft, Zulily, Zeeks Pizza, Chalkbox Studio, LGDesign, etc…

Business Owner

After 20 years of working professionally as a commercial photographer, Duncan Smith set out on an adventure of a lifetime through rural Latin America to rejuvenate his passion for photography. He spent 15 months on the road, and 60,000 km, riding his motorcycle through indigenous lands, rarely traveled. The primary focus of the journey was to explore the local foods, markets, and cuisines, but it’s the people that really won Duncan’s heart.

Now back in Seattle, Duncan has resumed shooting retail, comercial and food, and is writing a photo journal and cookbook based on his travels and experiences in his spare time.
