Donna Kelleher, DVM

I do Westie Rescue and I had the pleasure of going to donna when I had no other options but euthanizia. The dog was so bad, that it was just cruel to keep him alive to be so miserable ²⁴⁄₇. I had tried everything on the planet, herbs, the plechner syndrome, pred, meds, antihistimines, change of diet, raw diet. the bottom line is I thought I’d give it a last ditch effort and go and give NAET a try NAET is not a fast fix but it took a couple of months or more, and he bounced back. Even his personality changed. I learn so much from Dr. Donna. I learned about herbs, how I was treating the secondary infection, and not the primary, that if I didn’t get his immune system in check then nothing would ever fall into place.
Lots of people who have written things here, are frustrated because they couldn’t get into see her. Her practice is small and she is at Maximum capacity so she has to turn people away or refer them. She is only in Seattle once a week and is booked for 10 hour straight.
I don’t believe its a fair review because she couldn’t take a patient.
the only way NAET works is if you follow her directions specifically and it takes time to detox a dog. I know it because I have rescued over 500 westies since 2008 and 50% have skin problems. Not always as severe as Teds.
Donna is amazing. She is a work in progress and always is on top of the nutrition and american herbs you can use. You should go to one of her seminars. See her on facebook.

We rely on Dr. Kelleher for almost all our pet issues, collaborating with our traditional vet when necessary. Our rescued dachshund had diarrhea and was vomiting and the traditional solution was medications with side effects. Dr. Kelleher recommended a home cooked diet, eliminating grains and voila, problem solved. Later, when diagnosed with pre-​cushings, she altered the diet/​herb/​supplement formula and her blood readings trended back toward more normal levels. We were able to avoid damaging pharmaceuticals and our rescue lived to 18+ years old. Highly recommend Dr. Donna Kelleher.

She is one of the very best. Her treatment of Masticatory Myositis has been nothing short of astounding after nothing but failure from traditional treatment of this by traditional vets. Piper, Sophie & I can’t thank Dr. Kelleher enough for her compassion and her tremendous gift of healing!

Dr Kelleher is a gift to the world of animals. My dog Henry had liver disease and the other vet recommended antibiotics and steroids. I know these drugs would go through Henry’s liver. We went to see Dr Kelleher a truly gifted holistic vet. Dr Kelleher treated Henry with herbs, supplements and acupuncture. Henry’s liver values are back to normal. We have never experienced a vet that is as dedicated to holistic medicine. The cost of treatment was affordable but most off all my dog is cured and acting like a puppy he will be 9 next month. We love Dr Donna and we will follow her, to the ends of the earth.

Went to Donna for a year and a half or so for help with an extremely itchy Westie. Never saw any improvement and sometimes he was even worse. I think the acupuncture and chiropractics she does is worthwhile but the NAET is a bunch of hooey, don’t get suckered into it cause she’ll bleed you till it hurts. The final straw was when after all this time and money I missed an appointment and she charged me for it. Guess she was too concerned about the money to give me a slight break after being a dedicated customer for so long. I ended up going back to a conventional vet who suggested a more aggressive treatment and my dog was itch-​free in 4 months. Hindsight is ²⁰⁄₂₀ but going to Donna was a waste of time and a lot of money.

You will not meet a nicer vet and one who does not talk down to you. I appreciated that and the willingness to «think outside the box» in terms of treatment.
Unfortunately, we saw no change in our pet’s health which was our primary reason for being there. Also, for as low-​tech as this practice is, with little «overhead», I think the fees were way too high.
However, I would recommend this practice to those looking for naturopathic nutritional advice.

Dr Kelleher is an amazing healer & is nationally renown in her field.
I have been fortunate to have been a client/​patient of hers for many years & she absolutely saved my rescue doxie, Sweetie (who has since passed away at nearly 19 years old!!). This dog came to us at about 8 years of age & was a total mess. When I became very frustrated with western treatments for a serious chronic condition that were not helping, I remembered meeting her a few years prior at a book reading/​signing for her first book & had filed her info away in my mind for the future.

The day my husband & I met her, it changed our lives & the life of our precious Sweetie.
We currently have 2 rescue doxies & Dr Kelleher keeps them healthy with tailor made homecooked diets, Chinese Herbs & supplement advice, acupuncture, & quarterly chiropractic adjustments (since wiener dog backs are prone to problems). Dr Donna’s philosphy is always to do no harm & her holistic & preventative approach give my dogs what they need to truly thrive.

Donna is a font of information! She works in preventative and supportive treatments and considers the whole animal. My dogs have responded so well to her acupuncture treatments, diet suggestions and supplement recommendations. Donna has made me a firm believer in the efficacy of acupuncture and strengthened my nutritional knowledge. To top it off– the dogs LOVE her! With her help, I feel like I am giving my furry family the best, healthiest, and most pain-​free possible lives.
