History

Established in 1985.

Born and raised in Chicago, ballet was Ann deVuono’s first love. The influence costumes had on her led to her passion for headdresses. Her millinery skills developed costuming for dance and theatre companies. This was followed by numerous private commissions.

deVuono’s hats first came to national prominence in the Vogue 1988 holiday issue. Subsequently, she and her work have been showcased in numerous publications, including Women’s Wear Daily and Fiberarts Design Book Six.

I LOVE these fabulously exquisite, creative and stylish one of a kind hats. These hats not only make me feel and look good, they are «conversation pieces».
I’d the pleasure of meeting Annie the designer and maker of these hats a few days ago when I was searching for the perfect new hat for a dear friend’s wedding in Ireland. I got some insights into the incredible work she does; from dyeing the materials to get to a perfect desired color, to hand weaving materials, her attention to detail is incredible. They are truly a labor of love. Best of all I got to try on a wide range of hats. It was hard to decide as I liked most of them.
I bought a hat made by Annie about 7 years ago, I have worn it to numerous weddings and events. It still looks and feels great. I’m confident my new hat will stand the test of time just as well.
