Dr. Mel and his clinic is one of the best! He has taken such great care of our dog. I was so happy to learn that Seattle has a great animal dermatologist. As someone who has gone to multiple doctors since our dog was a puppy, I highly recommend this clinic for all your pet’s dermatological needs. Dr. Mel is super friendly, has wonderful staff, and is in a great location!

Dr. Mel and his staff are wonderful! Dr. Mel diagnosed my dog’s Cushing’s disease; previously we had been searching for answers for her skin condition for over two years. Not only did he find the underlying cause of her condition, but he was also able to refer me to doctors who provided her with the care she needed. Additionally, he has helped with her constant skin and ear infections, going the extra mile and following up to see how she was doing. Additionally, Samantha provided beautiful email summaries of our visits. I couldn’t ask for anything more. Thank you so much! We couldn’t have made it with you!

Very pleased with my appointment. I thought DCA was easy to find. The parking on the roof was not an issue. I think directions were emailed to me, they were clear and concise.
Everyone was kind and courteous. So happy Dr. Mel was able to take care of my cats ear polyp while I waited. Very quick procedure, at half the cost a regular vet would charge. This is the benefit of a laser procedure.
Other vets should know about Dr. Mel’s services. I have not seen any other vets who perform laser procedures. This is less stress for the animal, and no hassle of keeping your pet overnight, etc.
My cat was a little sleepy afterwards, but she’s forgiven me for inconveniencing her.

Dr Mel comes through again. My french bulldog broke out with a pretty bad rash. My little puppy was suffering and it was terrible to see. She was even refusing to eat. I called the DCA frantically on a Friday late afternoon and even though they were closing Dr Mel saw her, identified the problem right away and got her feeling better within 24 hours. huge relief!

I would stay far away from this clinic. After being wrongfully referred to this clinic to treat my animal for a ‘skin allergy’, the vet explained that any treatment or suggestion of treatment would be out of his expertise and recommended I take my dog to a surgeon. At the close of the appointment, the secretary told me it would be $ 145. She explained further that they don’t waive exam fees and that this is their fee for their vet’s ‘time’. No treatment plan recommended-​only a referral to another doctor. Does this sound like a $ 145 appointment? I refused to pay the ‘fee’ as no service was provided other than them being 15 minutes late to the appointment, another 15 minutes to recap all of the dog’s health records to the technician, followed by ANOTHER recap to the veterinarian – now going on 45 minutes. Finally, after all of that fluff-​the vet said he can’t help me but that I owed him $ 145 for his time. The vet was so desperate to get his money that he actually fraudulently filed a claim to MY pet insurance company to have the fee directly deposited into his account. I never gave them permission to file a claim and feel he abandoned some privacy laws to retrieve such info. As a reminder-​pet insurance companies are to help the dog owners with the extreme costs of veterinary care and are not there to assist veterinarian clinics – they have their own insurance. Desperate calls for desperate measures, they say. The clinic was completely empty, no phones were ringing and had one secretary and one technician working. But – they have TWO parking spots!!! –their claim to fame.

So impressed with this clinic! Our 9 year old bulldog has had skin issues his entire life and for the first time ever we are seeing significant improvement in a short period of time.
Both Dr. Mel and Rachael were great! Both went to great lengths to answer questions and explain things in a non medical manner. They even called to check on the progress.
Great service and less than we expected dollar wise.
Also, ask about the parking spots! Even better!

Kai, my 11 year old indoor cat, has had seasonal problems with his skin over the past several years. The treatments that used to make him better are no longer effective, so I recently decided to take him to a dermatologist.
I appreciated the ease of scheduling an initial evaluation at DVA and was able to get an appointment almost immediately. Upon arrival, I was impressed with the facility which is attractive, modern and impeccably clean. Dr. Mel’s demeanor was extremely personable and put me instantly at ease. During the exam, he was great with Kai who is generally terrified of everyone. He is well spoken and his knowledgeability was apparent as he communicated what he was doing throughout the exam. The visit felt efficient though not at all rushed, and when it concluded, I felt well informed about Kai’s condition and optimistic about Dr. Mel’s assessment and plan for going forward with a new treatment. I look forward to returning to for a recheck evaluation of his skin infection in 30 days.

Dr Mel is super knowledgable and everyone is very friendly. My husband and I took our pug there to identify the root cause of his chronic ear infection. The experience we’ve had so far is simply outstanding. DCA is definitely the best in the area!

My black lab and I visited the clinic due to a concern we have about his skin condition. The staff was very accommodating with scheduling and. Dr. Milivoj was very friendly. I would certainly recommend this to anyone who loves their pet.

We took are little Frenchie/​Boston for rashes, I was VERY impressed with Dr Mel and his staff. He is quite friendly, professional and really explains things well to his clients. He uses diagrams and actual scopes and pictures. He is also confident and quite personable – with people and dogs alike. His assistant is also a great asset to his practice. They even tolerated us bringing our dog’s sister along as she would not tolerate being alone.
We are so lucky to have him within walking distance of us, but he is definitely worth a drive if one lived afar.
Not as expensive as I feared it would be, given the location of practice. We are health care professionals and usually difficult clients to please. Despite that, I thought this was a truly outstanding experience.

I am not easy to impress, as I am a veterinarian, myself, but I WAS impressed!
When my dog’s skin condition wasn’t responding to any of the usual treatments, I realized it was time to see the specialist, dermatology specialist, that is.
Right from the beginning, it was a great experience. My dog wasn’t afraid and he is usually nervous when meeting new people.
Racheal, the technician, was great and very friendly. She answered all my grilling questions.
When Dr. Mel came in, he greeted my dog first. That meant a lot to me as my dog is the reason I am there. He is the patient.
Dr. Mel gave me a tour of the new clinic and went over all the possibilities of why my dog hasn’t been responding to conventional therapy. My dog is much better now and no longer pulling his hair out scratching.
I will certainly be back and will also refer any patients I have with any bad skin problems or allergies. I am so glad to have a specialist in the area that is willing to walk to you on the phone when you have questions, as a doctor, and as a client!

I must say that I’m very impressed with DCA, Dr. Mel and staff. Don’t let the pic of the building on Google maps detour you from visiting. A very new, modern and sterile environment is what you will find inside. Even though Dr. Mel is new, he is highly educated, well spoken, confident, and has a friendly demeanor. Something else that impressed me although it be a small detail. I very much appreciated the non slip pad and warm towel that was placed on the exam table.
My dog has been suffering for months with a severe rash and extreme itchiness. I had an apt at another clinic but they couldn’t see me for another month. I’m so relieved DCA could get me in immediately. We had a thorough consult, exam, skin scrape and were given a treatment plan. We are on day two and I already see improvements.
Of course you are going to pay more $ than a typical Vet, keep in mind you are seeing a specialist. My cost for our visit was i feel appropriate and worth every penny.
