This was my worst experience at a dentist EVER. The guy was extremely rude. MY MOUTH WAS NOT NUMB YET AND SO WHEN I MADE A NOISE, HE SLAMMED DOWN HIS TOOLS AND REFERRED ME ELSEWHERE BECAUSE HE CANT HANDLE IT, i defiantly didnt scream. My mouth was open with a needle in the back. He was very pushy & in such a rush.
Very dissapointed.
When i went to the front of the place to get my referal elsewhere, 2 girls working… NEITHER helping.

These people are horrible!
My grandpa had to have all his teeth removed in preperation for dentures. The place felt very cold and patient comfort was obviously NOT a priority. They never asked how he would like to be treated, they just applied novacaine and then preceded to yank all his teeth out, regardless of his discomfort. He mentioned several times about his pain and discomfort and they just continued working on his mouth. After the procedure he came out pale and white as a ghost from the trauma and blood loss. The true horror is what happened AFTER his visit. They didn’t even bother to sow his gums closed! He continued to bleed from the gums for 2 days and it even gave him sinus trauma which resulted in another 2 day hospital stay. Please do not go to this office! They are rude, cold, and uncaring of their patients needs, especially to a docile old man with pain…

I went here on a referral. The day of my referral I contacted the office and I asked what I needed for my appointment. The gentlemen said just show up and we will pull your teeth.
The day of my appt I called and a different receptionist explained there were a few things I needed to bring and helped me get that information there so I could keep my appt. I was referred for 3 wisdom and one molar extraction. There ended up taking an extra tooth at my request. Over all experience was good. First 4 teeth came out with no pain, the 5^th was a surgical extraction and I felt discomfort. The assistant massaged my jaw which while it physically eased my discomfort it also emotionally eased my tention and anxiety. its a fkn scary experience yknow. I never thought having 5 teeth pulled with only local anesthetic would go so easy. I know there are a lot of negative reviews but the doctor I had (wasn’t Dr chothia) was receptive to my wishes and when I needed more numbing she immediately accommodated me. That’s about it. I’d put 5 stars but they did make me feel like a junkie and afraid to ask for pain meds. They have a sign that states if you ask for any drug by name you will not get it. but I also understand why they have to do that.

I’m confused because the reviews here keep referring to Dr Chothia as a male. I went there today and my surgeon was female hmmm. Regardless SHE did a good job, didn’t explain much but has a gentle personality and did a quick job. In pain right now as to be expected, but the tooth is out!

Worse experience I have ever had at a dentist office, the nurse seems like she didn’t know what she was doing. Dr hashim chothia was way to forceful and beyond rude forcefully pushing on my body asking me if that hurt then telling me that’s my fault it hurts (didn’t hurt before he pushed on it) also telling me if I don’t stop (wasn’t doing anything) he won’t removed my last wisdom tooth… they don’t even deserve the 1 star! I will never go back or recommend anyone to go there!

I can’t believe how well my experience with Dr Chothia went. I never thought that I could have a five star experience with a dental surgeon. I was so impressed this is my first review ever, but I had to share my experience. I went in for removal of all my wisdom teeth on a referral from my regular dentist. I was very nervous because I have never met this guy and I have always had anxiety, especially at the dentist. I was concerned about the fact that they do local anesthetic only, but I didn’t feel a thing and he was so quick I didn’t even realize he had pulled all the teeth. It was also nice to be able to drive and function within a few hours. Once my face was numb, he was done in literally five minutes. It was incredible, I didn’t even have time to have a panic attack. And if that wasn’t awesome enough, I’ve had very little swelling and hardly any pain at all. The only thing I could complain about is that the anesthetic gave me nausea but that probably more due to the fact that I have a very sensitive tummy then anything else. This guy is good, and his staff was friendly and helpful as well. If for some reason I ever need dental surgery again I will be headed to Dr Chothia without a doubt.

I don’t think my appointment could have gone any better today. But I wouldn’t call getting a tooth removed a 5 star experience.
I have had a cavity in one of wisdom teeth and was told I needed to get a root canal. After waiting to hear back from the UW I had an abscess appear, causing me even more pain. So I went to my usual dentist and they referred me here to get the tooth pulled. I was first scheduled two weeks away then received a call that they had a cancelation for the next day (today).
Showed up early and had about 5 pages of paperwork, not a lot but one page was double sided of yes or no boxes.
Was directed back to the room then waited a few minutes for dr. Chothia. He took a look at my tooth and said that it shouldn’t be a problem to take out even with the abscess.
He swabbed my mouth with the general numbing stuff then the shots to better numb the area. Lip and side of face was numb but when he applied pressure it still hurt.
It took a few shots to sufficiently numb the area. This only upset me because if I hadn’t waited so long it would have been easier to numb. Dr. Chothia didn’t make me feel bad about it at all. He explained what the abscess was doing and why it needed more numbing.
There was a lot of pressure when he was preparing & taking out the tooth, but no real pain. I was pretty tense and stressed but it was over quick.
The bleeding part is no fun but was given enough gauze.
I live about 45 mins away so the numbing was starting to fade, the pain was pretty horrible. So don’t put off taking the pain meds! I’ve had one dose so far and feeling a lot better plus having ice packs.
Dr. Chothia and his assistant were really nice and answered all my questions.

I saw Dr. Chothia yesterday, after reading most of reviews I was apprehensive to go to my appointment. However the doctor was very pleasant he was able to pull a problem wisdom tooth with very little effort. I’d have to say he was skilled. He also prescribed the medicine for recovery accurately.

thank you to all for your Unilocal reviews because of them i will not be taking my child there for wisdom teeth extracting dont want be child to have a fear at a young age of DDS it sounds like you should be shut down and move on before you scar anyone else makes me mad to think that just because you take DSHS medical coupons does not mean that is it ok to treat the ones that have privet inc. with a smile and kindness and then treat the other half that half DSHS like shit thank you and have a good day out there Unilocalers

Dr. Chothia was very thorough in explaining to me the process of having a tooth removed. After I got through the numbing, I was afraid to have the tooth extracted. He told me that I wouldn’t feel it, had me massage my jaw, and told me that my fear it would hurt was in my head, not in my mouth. I told him to go ahead. Tooth was gone in 5 minutes. He’s very caring and a nice man.

I feel Hashim Chothia dds in seattle is prejudice. I use to have a very good dentist when I was able to work. Would have went back to them if my insurance had not been changed to medicare. I had extractions sent home with only a antibiotic. No pain pills. When the novacaine wore off I was in so much pain. I do not recommend if you are elderly or handicapped. Oh he got the teeth out fast, but I felt pain. I am hard to numb, I told him this.

Have never been disappointed with Dr. Chotia. When I lived in FL, I had one dentist since had teeth until I had to move to Seattle. It took me three years before I found someone I trusted. Dr. Chotia does a very good job of explaining things to you and actually comes and checks on you and looks at your teeth. Even my dentist in FL didn’t do that. He would spend 3 minutes and let his hygienist everything else. Dr. Chotia sat and chatted with me about my teeth for a good 10 minutes before he moved on to the next patient.

Worse Dentist for aftercare. Went in to see them a month ago for an extraction. The extraction went fine. It was an assistant, not the doctor. It healed up nicely, then a piece of bone or tooth started making its way through my gums. It was very painful and tender so I called and was asked to come back in to remove. I live in Burien, so this was a pain in the butt to leave work and drive into Seattle. This time I saw the doctor himself. He put some numbing medicine on it and said he removed the partial. As soon as I left I could still feel the sharp piece cutting though my gums. I called him and he basically told me that I was making up having something there to get pain pills, when that is not what I was asking him. I wanted to know if I needed to come in again or wait it out and he wouldn’t help me at all and said it wasn’t there because he couldn’t see it. I ended up having to hang up on him and I just went to another dentist today and they removed it using a numbing shot and being a little more intrusive, but I didn’t mind at all because now I finally have relieve. With out using the pain medication I supposedly wanted. No thanks to dr. clothia. Dick!

I can’t say enough good things about my experience getting two wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Chothia and his caring team.
I had a bad experience at a ‘specialist’ years before, so I came in with a lot of anxiety. Dr. Chothia and his team sensed my anxiety and took extra care to reassure me and try to get me to relax. Most importantly though, he was very skilled at removing the teeth. It took him less than ten minutes to get both of them out and there was zero pain! I hardly felt pressure because his technique was so good. Of course it helps that I was completely numb thanks to the very sweet and competent assistants who took care to be sure I had no feeling on that side of my mouth.
One more thought. I followed all the directions they give you to care for your mouth after surgery and had no problems. So happy I finally took care of this!

So I’ve been here a couple times just to have some xrays and issues checked out. Wasn’t very impressed at first, but it came to the point where I had to get an extraction. I started shopping around, but I was in so much pain, that I just had to get it done and they had all of my xrays, etc., so I just went.
I must say that they were quick, friendly, honest, and communicative about all of it. I was there to get my tooth out no matter what, and that’s what they did. The part that was the worst is when they numbed me– the extraction itself was painless and only took 10 minutes. They walked me through step-​by-​step on what they were doing. No need for laughing gas since this was a molar and not a wisdom tooth, but they will do laughing gas for wisdom teeth.
First tooth extraction was a breeze thanks to this team. Though it wasn’t Dr. Chothia himself, I was please with the OS who did it for me. I thanked her a bunch. And she said I was a trooper. :)

I was referred to his office by my dentist to have my impacted wisdom teeth removed. My dentist forwarded a copy of my x-​rays 2 month prior to my appointment date.
Once at the appointment the dental assistant sat me in the chair and then glanced at my x rays and said «Oh we can’t remove your teeth, they are too impacted». My response was obviously, Are you serious?! Is this the first time anyone at your office has looked at my x rays, you’ve had them for 2 months?! Don’t you think that since the referral was for impacted wisdom teeth, your office should have known to look at the depth of the impaction to make sure you were adequately prepared for my visit!
Mind you since I thought I was having my wisdom teeth removed I had rearranged my whole life so I would have ample time for recovery!
Talk about poor planning and extremely poor customer service on their part. Needless to say, I will not be going back!

I just went to see Dr. Hashim once and don’t think I’ll go back. I didn’t even see him, but his very young assistant who didn’t seem confident in what she was doing. Checking my gum health was more painful than at other dentists, and they didn’t check for TMJ or other things I’m used to being checked for. They seemed basically competent, but the thing that grossed me out was that they didn’t clean any of their equipment in front of me (most dentists do these days, it’s comforting), and the sunglasses I wore during the visit were fingerprinted and grimy, yet the dental assistant handled them in her gloves, then worked on my teeth. YUCK!
