We will be sensitive to your every desire whether that is special music or pillow all the way to special medication to put you at ease. We provide a team approach to dentistry with world-​class specialists and laboratory support. You will also appreciate Dr. Lewis’ advanced clinical skills. Trained at the University of Michigan and the Kois Center in Seattle, Dr. Lewis and his team can provide for everyone from 1 to103. History

Established in 1971.

This practice started as a small private practice under Dr. Robert Gidner in Seattle. In 2002, Dr. Andy Lewis joined the practice and after 2 ½ years together Dr. Gidner retired leaving sole ownership to Dr. Lewis. Over the past 8 years, Dr. Lewis has continued in the tradition of low-​volume, high service dentistry. He has applied his training from the University of Michigan as well as advanced training through the US Navy and the world-​renowned Kois Center to raise general dentistry in Seattle to a new level of expertise and performance for the utmost benefit for each and every patient.

Dr. D. Andrew Lewis L.

Business Owner

Dr. Lewis is a native of Washington state and a graduate of the University of Washington. As a student of the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, Dr. Lewis researched the detection of blockages of the carotid artery in dental radiographs (X-​rays). His research was published in 1999 in a leading national dental journal. He served his country with pride as a dental officer in the US Navy. He worked alongside the Marines at Parris Island as well as with sailors aboard the USS Sacramento from Singapore to the Persian Gulf and back. Since leaving the Navy in 2001, Dr. Lewis has maintained a Seattle-​based private practice in general dentistry. He is a graduate and mentor of advanced training at the world-​renowned Kois Center in Seattle (www​.kois​cen​ter​.com). In 1997, Dr. Lewis earned the prestigious Fellowship award from the Academy of General Dentistry and has been a Seattle Metropolitan Magazine «Top Dentist» since 2009.

I hadn’t been to the dentist in a few years (shame on me, I know– and unlike me) because I had moved to Seattle and just hadn’t found a place I was confident in making my new regular dentist. I searched in the area on Unilocal and found Dr. Lewis’ office just a few blocks from my work. The Unilocal reviews were stellar, and when I finally made my way there the staff lived up to the reviews. From the front desk, to the waiting area and overall ambiance, I immediately felt more comfortable and ready to ‘get this over with.’ Luckily for me, Dr. Lewis greeted me and began our consultation in his office with a presentation he had put together. Side note: he likes to schedule a call with all patients prior to their first appointment, which was also impressive. He walked me through different dental issues, photos, causes, and talked to me about any concerns I had and potential issues. Once that was done, I went into the exam room for x-​rays. I was immediately relieved to find out that I didn’t need to put in those harsh xray pieces that you clamp down on. He had a very high-​tech machine that took photos of my teeth with no discomfort or pain. And it only took a few seconds. His staff also assisted him and were super professional and friendly. During the exam he took time to always explain what he was doing and showed me what exactly he was looking at. When the appointment was over he recommended some cleaning techniques and options for improving my oral health. The thing I liked best was that he left the options up to me, and better yet he also explains how and if insurance typically covers his recommendations and how costly it may be, in case you are cost-​conscious. I found that extremely helpful, as I’ve had experience with medical professionals who recommend options and fail to mention the large bill you’ll get a few weeks later. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and Dr. Lewis & staff put me at ease. I’m looking forward to my next appointment– which I never thought I’d say.

An absolutely fabulous dentist. Great caring staff. He participates in continuing education. If you go th the WA dental board (I think it is called). Look at his credentials. When moving here from Austin, my dentist said look for two particular credentials. He had them. Also he does emergency work, like when I fell and damaged my front teeth badly. He was on the cellphone with my husband while I was in emergency room. Then i had an appt right away.

Thankfully I found Dr Lewis and his wonderful office. I escaped another high-​tech yet unprofessional dentist office and found hands-​down the best dentist office I have ever been to. From the receptionist /​office manager to the hygienists like to Dr. Lewis himself, the most professional and scholarly expert dentist office. The Kois difference is another plus — their smart technology and techniques based on science are another huge benefit over others.

I hadn’t been to the dentist in several years because its usually a bad experience for me. Dr. Lewis and his team changed my mind on that. My visit was the least painful dental visit I’ve ever had. Dr. Lewis took close up digital photos of each individual tooth and gave a thorough explanation of what he saw. They seem to have the latest and greatest in dental technology (e.g. ultrasonic devices to remove tartar instead of just picks!). The staff was excellent (thanks again Brooke!). I’m going back in 6 months.

I met with Dr. Lewis yesterday and for the first time in a very long time, a dentist related to me as a person as well as a case. I am transferring my dental care to his office from a high profile, well respected office downtown. Why? Because Dr. Lewis educated me about all of the dynamics with my teeth … that feels positive and empowering. I strongly suggest that you see Dr. Lewis for a second opinion. If your like me you’ll be very glad you did.

I came to Dr. Lewis after having a lot of dental problems and anxiety, and he has done wonderful work for me and been very kind. From our first meeting, he did a more thorough evaluation than I’ve ever had — and where he showed me everything he was seeing on a tv screen with a digital camera during the evaluation — I have known I was in good hands. Additionally, all of the work he has done has been meticulous. Unlike with other dentists I’ve had, where the work feels awkward and uncomfortable for awhile until your mouth gets used to it during the coming weeks, he spends a lot of time making sure everything feels totally comfortable before you leave. It also looks great :) Unlike other dentists I’ve had, he doesn’t see a ton of patients at the same time (he’s there to work with you during your appointment). I highly recommend Dr. Lewis, and have already referred several friends.

I have been going to Dr. Lewis for about two years now and I have been beyond impressed. Any time Dr. Lewis suggests a procedure he takes the time to sit down and talk to you about why you should or shouldn’t go forward with his suggestion and is very conscious of the expense. His staff could not be more friendly and professional. I am very critical of reviews that I write on Unilocal and I have zero hesitation giving Dr. Lewis and his staff 5-​stars.

I’ve been using Dr. Lewis as my dentist for about 3 years now and am so pleased with the care I’ve received I can’t even begin to imagine going anywhere else. They don’t waste time with unnecessary or multiple appointments when things need to be evaluated or get done, are extremely accommodating, always have the latest technology (helloooo early cavity detection with laser beams which eliminates fillings by taking less than 5 minutes of proactive, painless sand-​blasting the decay away… or something like that… Yesss!) and the entire staff is seriously like the most genuinely nice group of people I’ve ever met in my life. Going to the dentist has become akin to catching up with an old friend over lunch hour and leaving with really, really clean teeth.
