Courtesy Tire is your complete auto repair center, we’re not just a tire shop. Our high quality auto repair services are performed by ASE-​certified mechanics. We handle a range of things including brakes, alignments, suspension repair, engine repair, diagnostics, heating and cooling, preventative maintenance, emissions repairs, A/​C, and exhaust systems.

We carry top brands like Bridgestone, Michelin, BF Goodrich and Pirelli. We offer 12 month/12,000 mile warranties on work performed as well.

History

Established in 1968.

Courtesy Tire has been serving the Seattle area since 1968, with two locations. One in the Capitol Hill area of Seattle at 2102 E Madison St. and the other in West Seattle at 4820 California Ave SW.

Our business has a long history of quality repairs and honest service. Every employee embodies the virtues the business was built upon, and we will go out of our way to ensure every customer experience with Courtesy Tire is an excellent one.

Manager

As an ASE Certified Master Technician and Service Consultant, Jeremy has been serving the Courtesy Tire family of patrons and employees in one facet or another for the last eight years. When taking over the role of Service Consultant in 2003 and then Store Management in 2005 for the Capitol Hill location, he adopted the company owners’ vision of achieving a reputation in the community of honesty, integrity, fairness and excellence in the work they perform.

As I drove up Madison on a cold dark night the tire light in my SUV came on and within a block I saw the Courtesy Tire store and pulled in right at closing the night before the Thanksgiving holiday in which I was about to drive to Portland.
I thought maybe my Mom secretly found a way to make the light come on so I wouldn’t be able to bring my anti walking meat version of Thanksgiving to Oregon but decided she probably didn’t and asked them to check it out for me. The guy at the front desk was super nice and multi-​tasked a couple of customers at the same time and still got someone to take a quick look at the tires.
Within five minutes one of the techs was checking and filling up my tires and I was good to go! I am sure all of my relatives were relieved to know that they would be getting salmon and marionberry pie to go with their traditional dead bird meal and we got to share car stories instead of politics which was also a good idea.

Super friendly and awesome!
After my road trip from Boston to Seattle, I noticed I had a nail lodged in my back tire. I brought it to these guys to check out, and I had a terrific experience. The wait was about an hour and a half, the perfect amount of time to get brunch and/​or go to Starbucks, which is across the street, to do some work/​reading. When I got back, I got a nice report of the issue — super helpful — and found their price to be relatively inexpensive.

Very friendly and quick service. Had a friend visiting who just drove cross country and they did a great job with the oil change and multi-​point inspection, all for under $ 30! Highly recommend and will definitely be back! Convenient location!

Great place for an oil change. You do need an appointment, they got me in within a few days and it took less than an hour. Guys at the counter are professional and know their stuff. Did I mention they’re $ 100 less than my Jiffy Lube experiences?! Thanks, I’ll be back!

Very helpful and courtesy guys. I recently moved to Seattle and didn’t want to go to the dealer like I usually do; these guys are just as trusting and helpful. I’ve been here for a repair on my front tire and brake replacement on both front and rear tires. For the women out there weary of auto shops, I recommend this place!

These guys are very nice. They did a rush job fixing a screw hole in one tire I knew about and found another in another tire I had not known about, all free of charge. They’ve earned their name in my book.

Took it in for single rear strut replacement and to check squeaking noise from a belt. Get a call from Jeremy with an estimate for BOTH back struts, new brakes, and an engine mount. Informed him that I had the other strut replaced about a year ago «OH YOU DID?» Yeah buddy, might have noticed that if you checked, or just wanted to replace a semi-​new strut for no reason? «Any news on the belt?» «No it just needs to warm up a bit and the noise will go away.» Should have bailed at this point but reluctantly went along with 1 strut/​brakes/​engine mount. He said it would be ready by the end of the day. No follow up call. Had to pick it up the next morning. Ends up the belts WERE BAD, and caused the alternator to fail while burning out the battery within a day. Went to Greg’s Japanese Auto instead for repairs and they were amazing. AVOID COURTESY TIRE UNLESS YOU ENJOY TERRIBLE SERVICE.

Had company from our of town that drove across country and wanted a place to have their car checked, oil changes, and fluids checked. Read the reviews and suggested they try here. They were overwhelmed by the attention to detail, honest and professional service they received. Fair price too– much cheaper than they would pay on the east coast.

I blew my tire right in the middle of a wildly hectic Friday. Luckily, I wasn’t far from here… these gentlemen took wonderful care of my car. They switched out the dead tire for my spare and had a new specialty tire due in the following morning. They were so quick that there was really no interruption in my tightly scheduled day. When I came back for the replacement, they were super fast and everything ended up being– dare I say… inexpensive!
I’m thoroughly impressed. While I hope to not see them anytime particularly soon– I will for sure be visiting them when the time comes!

I LOVE THIS SHOP!
I live down the street and was looking for a new place to take my car (after the warranty wore out on it) so I swung by Courtesy Tire to check and see if I needed new brake pads (I had been hearing a bit of a squeaking). I dont know much about auto repair so I’m always worried about being taken advantage of.
I stopped by in the morning and they took my car right away (no appointment). A few hours later I received a call and was informed that, the pads were fine and I «had a few thousand miles» left on them. They never tried to sell anything else to me and sent me on my way!
Oh, I did need new tires as well (which I knew and told them that was part of why I was there). When I came to pick up my car I was informed that they accidentally put «better tires» on then I had requested. Instead of taking more time, etc. they just gave me the better tires and waved the alignment and the total came down to the same as it would’ve been with the «lesser» tires. Amazing!
I stopped by today (7 mths and a few thousand miles later), they took my car, did a front brake job (at a very reasonable price)!
I love this shop!

I’ve been coming here loyally for over three years now, ever since finding this place on Unilocal.Many miles and several repairs later (my truck is 15 years old), I still think these folks are reasonably priced, honest, considerate and convenient.

I have been coming here for years. Have always been pleased. Their service fees are quite reasonable, and recently they blew me away.
My breaks were squeaking and my automatic transmission was doing weird things. I dropped the car off thinking I was going to be draining my bank account in the near future.
They called back later that day with «The news» I braced myself…
They reported that I had several thousand miles left on the breaks, they just had some film on them that was causing them to squeak. The transmission ended up being a sensors that was possibly going bad and if the transmission still acts odd that it would be a minor job to replace it. I walked out bank account intact and the transmission no longer was an issue.
So honest. I have been in shops where they tell you that you need to replace your breaks by default when you get an oil change.
These guys are trustworthy, care about their customers and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

I live ridiculously close to this place, yet it took me almost a year to register that, hey, it’s a car place! I can take my car there! And then walk home while I wait! My life is exciting, it’s true.
I was due for an oil change so I called to see what they charge, and was pretty impressed. My old standby was a place that charges around $ 45 for an oil change, and here was Courtesy Tire telling me they’d go for about $ 23 — sweet! They were very quick, and when they called to let me know my car was done, they also informed me that my back brakes were about to go out — and I’m confident this wasn’t an upsell. I’ve been putting off fixing my back brakes for a year or so, so I knew they’d need work, and that work was the ONLY thing Courtesy Tire tried to get me to buy.
I got a quote but then called around to a few other places for comparison, and Courtesy Tire stacked up pretty well — one place told me $ 225 (as their SPECIAL) and another told me twenty-​five cents more than what CT was quoting. The convenience won, and I ended up bringing it back that day to fix the brakes. It took a LITTLE bit longer than they’d told me, but I wasn’t in a rush and didn’t need my car for anything that day, so I wasn’t too concerned.
That was a couple weeks ago and my car is still driving (and braking!) a-​okay. I’m really quite pleased to have discovered this place.
