Meet the Business Owner

Sonja S.

Business Owner

Sonja Sivesind studied acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine at

Touro College in Manhattan, NY and Bastyr University in Kenmore, WA.

Since graduating in 2008, Sonja has opened two community acupuncture

clinics in Seattle, worked as a NADA certified acupuncturist at Seattle’s methadone clinic, and co-founded the Seattle Community Acupuncture Network (SCAN).

Before entering the world of community acupuncture, Sonja worked for social change with several economic, racial and gender justice organizations in California, New York and Seattle. When not agitating for public health and affordable acupuncture, Sonja is happiest playing in the sun, getting her hands dirty in the garden and dipping in the cold waters of the Puget Sound.
