Columbus Motor Inn

My boyfriend and I had planned a trip to Seattle to see some friends, and when we went to book a hotel room learned that there was a huge convention in town and *everything* was booked up. We ended up booking a room here as it was the last available room in all of Seattle (it being the *last available room* should be a hint enough about the quality). We consulted Unilocal and saw that the reviews were mixed and the rooms looked dated and cheesy, but not gross, so we went for it. Now let me tell you, I have no idea what rooms the pictures on this website are of but they look NOTHING like our room, nor other rooms we got a glimpse inside of.
Once I entered our room, I was quite sure we wouldn’t be leaving with our lives. Our room had cigarette burns in the sheets, what appeared to be blood stains on the ceiling, filthy old fabric office chairs, and TONS of garbage (including old tissues) behind the bed. There were mold stains in the bathroom, no soap, no garbage can.
This place is more expensive than the private rooms at funky hostels downtown. So even if you’re on a budget, unless everything in Seattle is booked up again, there is literally no reason to stay here.
If I had to throw in any positives I’d point out that we didn’t get actually get murdered or catch bed bugs, we had some good laughs, and loved the hilarious give-​no-​fucks attitude of the manager of the place (aside from his blatant racism in pointing out his relief that we weren’t Chinese when he saw we were coming from Vancouver. Uh, seriously?)

We stayed here for 2 nights:
Room cleanness was good.
Fridge, microwave, no coffee maker tho.
Bathtub and toilet were clean.
Staff were nice and friendly and willing to help.
Coffee in the office for breakfast but nothing else.
Almost NO wi-​fi! If you rely on motel ‘s WiFi internet to book and search your stuff, then don’t stay here. But if you have data on your mobile plan, bump it up to the next plan! You’re going to need it!
Ice maker and vending machine outside, parking is pretty much available.
I recommend this motel to a friend.

Ha! This dive was the worst motel EVER! Knock, knock? Who’s there? mice, methheads? You name it! The manager has absolutely NO customer service skills, and must know the owner personally, cause he should been fired along time ago! I kid you not! Scandalous neighborhood… between the «ladies of the night» strolling up and down Aurora and the sirens, I couldn’t get a wink of sleep. If the outside is any indication, RUN, as fast as you can to the nearest «chain» motel in the vicinity! .pick one… because, when you have a name to uphold, you’re gonna get people who have a standard to maintain… and THIS ain’t it. I recommend any hotel/​motel you can find on
and chose «name your price» feature. In the off-​season, I’ve found Extended Stay Hotels for under $ 50. The only drawback, is they don’t have daily maid service, but if you pick up after yourself…’nuff said! I don’t know about you, but I don’t change my bedding at home every night anyway. Extended Stay Hotels, also have stoves and refrigertors in them, so you can save a ton of money, by bringing your own food, and cooking it in-​room. They also offer a «grab ‘n go» breakfast that is free! Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, oatmeal, fresh fruit or danish, all at your fingertips! Ha!
If the Columbus was the last motel on Aurora with a vacancy, I’d sleep in my car, ‘just saying!

So I stayed here because we all lost our wallets and the banks were closed so we only has about 100 $ to spend on a room til the am, the reviews were high so I wanted to go here thinking it’s clean and nice,
WRONG
the bed had cigarette holes in it
There was seeds behind the bed and gum
The shower wouldn’t drain
It was gross and rachet
The whole room was dirty no where near clean
Never again

Now this is a ‘classy’ budget hotel. ;)
Last month, I stayed here. I like their various themed rooms. I believe I stayed at the Shogun room. This room had a sunk in black marble bathtub.
The rooms were clean and staff was very friendly.
The price you can’t beat either.
