Columbia Center Parking Garage

Don’t use the payment machine on the first floor. It eats cards. There is no number to call. The intercom does not work. You have leave the machine to get an attendant. What if the card pops out and someone takes it while you are looking for an attendant?
Only saving grace was the attendant was very helpful when he came to the machine. He had obviously dealt with the problem before.

Oh my, this garage will seriously test your skills if you drive anything large. Going in, it’s not too bad, you may scrape the bottom on the sidewalk. If you go down the levels a bit, you will find decent spots, but on the way out, you will have to navigate a steep and sharp turning corkscrew ramp. Thankfully, I managed to get out without a scratch. Definitely don’t drink too much wine at the CTC :)

The Columbia Tower probably has one of the oddest floor plans in Seattle. This makes the layout of the 5-​level underground parking lot very tricky. There’s all these weird little nooks and oddly shaped corners into which the most awkward and tiny parking spaces are fashioned. What this means for me is lots of scratches all over my car! Boo. Every morning it’s struggle to find a reasonable looking spot that I don’t have to maneuver around three beams and a koala bear to get into.
And why are the first two levels reserved for non-​monthly parkers? Given the outrageous fee we pay you to park there, couldn’t you at least give us the preferred parking levels? Why make us descend into the depths of hell?
Two stars only because I have the card key that allows me to bypass the ticket-​spitting machine and the cashier every day.
