My husband and I came here a number of times to both buy and sell coins over the past several years. The first couple times, the owner was pretty nice and we had a smooth experience; then things went downhill. Long wait times while owner chatted up the customer before us, clearly aware that we were waiting and not even bothering with a simple «I’ll be right with you.» Dinging us for the tiniest dent or scratch and — completely ridiculous — for not bringing the coin in the plastic sleeve that it came in. Overall sense of arrogance. Go elsewhere, there are other options for your numismatic pursuits.

Would give zero stars if I could. The woman who works there on Mondays, the day that the buyer is not in, told me my items are worth nothing without even looking at what I had, and chastised me for the condition my paper money was in, and I had just come in to find out what everything was and get a general idea of value. She talked down her nose at me and repeated that my collection was worthless without even looking at any single pieces. I have done my research (I’m an analyst, can’t avoid finding my own answers!) and know there are at least a handful of pieces that are rare and hold value. She told me I could make an appointment with the appraiser when he is in, and he will be able to confirm the worthlessness of my collection, which contains coins from all over the globe, from 1803 on. It seemed as though she was trying to get a reaction out of me with her blind insistence that my collection is laughable, but I played along. I will take the blatant ageism that was no doubt at work as a compliment though. You would think a business with some longevity would have learned the 2-​way value of respecting the client no matter what inane prejudices you may hold Thanks for nothing, Coin & Stamp!
