Cochon Catering & Personal Chef Services

Without a doubt, one of the highlights of our bachelor party trip to Seattle was having Chef Patrick Frank of Cochon Catering prepare a personalized five-​course dinner for us at our Airbnb rental house in Ballard. Our friend Kevin, who organized the trip, learned about Chef Patrick through one of his connections in Seattle. He arranged to have Chef Patrick cook us a meal at home on the final night of our multi-​day visit. It was a fantastic end to our stay.
Chef Patrick is a personal chef who has been cooking for almost his entire life. He worked at various restaurants throughout his career before starting his own business, Cochon Catering. Cochon is French for pig. He prepares private, personalized meals for parties big and small. He’ll do one-​time gigs like the dinner he prepared for us. He’ll also go to your house and prepare a week’s worth of meals for you if you want. I think that’s pretty awesome.
Chef Patrick goes out and buys all the groceries, brings all the necessary plating, and brings everything to your house to cook, serve, and clean. You don’t have to do anything except sit back and enjoy the meal. Your kitchen becomes his kitchen.
We booked Chef Patrick on a Saturday night at 6pm. He arrived on-​time with his Sous Chef Rachael. They brought in a few bags and boxes worth of ingredients, kitchenware, and plating to feed our group of 10. They scoped out our kitchen and went to work immediately. This was my first-​ever personal (paid) chef experience, so I was excited to see these guys in action. The chefs let me watch them up-​close and Chef Patrick even offered to teach us how to cook while he was prepping and cooking.
I think it’s fascinating how these guys can prepare such high quality gourmet meals from a regular residential kitchen. I thought they’d have to be in a restaurant quality kitchen to pull off some of these dishes.
Chef Patrick worked with Kevin on the menu. Chef Patrick’s menus are inspired by his guests’ tastes and ideas. Here’s what we had:
First Course:
* Creamy grits with braised beef short ribs and fire-​roasted tomato gravy (non-​dairy)
Second Course:
* Fried chicken with crispy slaw
Third Course:
* Mint julep fruit salad
Fourth Course:
* Blackened snapper with andoullie and potato hash with fried green tomato garnish
Fifth Course:
* Roasted apple and peach with granola crumble and whipped cream
The meal was absolutely delicious and the experience was simply outstanding. Everything was made from scratch. I watched as Sous Chef Rachael cut all the fruit and vegetables. I watched Chef Patrick batter and fry the chicken. Yes, he fried 10 large pieces of chicken in our little kitchen (and that was just part of one course). I watched him season the fresh red snapper he had just purchased from Pike Place Market (now that’s local). It was fun watching Patrick and Rachael plate each course. I told Rachael food is art and she agreed. I commented to everyone before the first course was served that watching and interacting with the chefs was like sitting at the chef’s counter at a fancy restaurant. Of course, it was way better than that. Our group as a whole had plenty of great conversation with Chef Patrick throughout the evening.
As Patrick and Rachael served each course, Patrick described each dish in detail, from the sourcing of ingredients to the preparation process.
We had *a lot* of food. The grits were hot, soft, and creamy and the beef short ribs were tender and juicy. I particularly liked the fried chicken because it was crispy, but not too greasy. It was also very meaty. The shredded slaw was fresh and crunchy. The mint julep fruit salad was terrific. Light, healthy, and refreshing. Me and another person in the party didn’t drink, so Chef Patrick made two special non-​alcoholic versions of the fruit salad for us. The blackened snapper was excellent. It was deboned and, like the chicken, meaty. I thought the bits of andouille sausage and slice of fried green tomato were a nice touch. The dessert was simple yet amazing. The apple and peach were sweet, ripe, and nicely spiced. One of the guys in our group is lactose intolerant, so Chef Patrick made sure to serve his whipped cream on the side.
Dishes were taken away and cleaned after each course. By the time dessert was over, just about all the dishes had been cleaned and the kitchen was spotless. Both the food and service were top-​notch. These guys are efficient and on top of their game. Chef Patrick’s experience really shone through.
I believe the total bill for our party came out to roughly $ 600 – 700 including groceries, labor, tax, gratuity, etc. Drinks were not included. For a private seated dinner for 10 with fantastic personalized food and service, I thought that was very reasonable.
If you are looking for a good personal chef in the Seattle area, I cannot recommend Chef Patrick and Cochon Catering enough.

Patrick was incredibly EASY to work with and prepared a DELICIOUS meal for our dinner party. He was incredibly accommodating as our request was pretty last-​minute. The food was prepared beautifully and the experience was stress-​free. Couldn’t have been happier!

I had never had a party catered before, so didn’t know what I was getting into. From my first query, Patrick was easy to work with and answered e-​mails promptly. His proposed menu (Italian) was creative and delicious. I saw my guests look up from each of his amazing courses with «Whoa!!» on their faces. Plus, he is so personable and competent and reassuring, which is exactly what you need when throwing a party! Besides whisking everything away at the end of the evening (thank God there were some leftovers in the frig — YUM!), his price was totally reasonable and within his first estimate.
This way of entertaining was a whole new experience, and I wouldn’t go to anyone else if another opportunity came up. Yay Patrick!

The whole process with Patrick is so easy! You tell him if there are any dietary conditions or things you don’t like. He then creates a menu based upon the style of party you’re having. In our case we had a dinner party for our close friends.
Everyone can’t stop talking about how great everything was! The food, the quality service and the professionalism.

This Chef is fantastic. My Association hired Cochon Catering for our yearly Christmas party. We have some members with food allergies or are on special diets and he was able to accommodate all of my concerns.
The food and portion sizes were great. The price was very reasonable. In past years, the other catering services we’ve had, have not been very good. With Cochon Catering, everyone was extremely happy and made me look like a hero. Thanks for a fantastic experience.

We’ve used Chef Patrick of Cochon Catering twice for small dinner parties at our house. He is amazing and makes everything so easy. He sets up the menu, does the shopping, the cooking and the clean up. The food and service is excellent and he leaves the kitchen spotless! Cochon is also an excellent value, we did a 5 course meal for six people for probably the same or less than it would have cost for us to eat at an upscale restaurant.

I recently had Patrick cater a dinner party at my home for 16 people in celebration of our wedding anniversary. And I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Patrick, the service and, of course, the food. From the first call, Patrick was accommodating, helpful and on top of things. He planned a fabulous menu, taking into consideration all of my requests, even a special meal for our youngest guest! I cannot tell you what a sheer delight it was to have such a tasty and elegant meal prepared for us and to end the evening with a spotless and clean kitchen. I will definitely be using Patrick for other events in the future. Cannot see how you could go wrong with his food and his service. Two weeks later and my guests are still commenting on how great the food was and what a wonderful evening they had. Having Patrick here made everything special and allowed me to focus all my attention on our guests. Thank you Patrick!

Cochon Catering was one of the best pieces to our wedding day! I wasn’t sure they would do a heavy appetizer wedding reception for 200 people (the reviews I read were for smaller group numbers). I am so glad they had our date open and were willing to be our caterer.
First of all, I have never met a more accommodating, patient, and thoughtful wedding vendor EVER. From the first conversation with Patrick, to my moments of panic, through the morning after when he graciously also catered a breakfast for out of town guests, we had THE BEST experience.
We so appreciated his attention to detail in the menu items. The presentation was lovely. There was never a moment when a particular appetizer was «out.» There were vegetarians, vegans, and meat eaters in the crowd and everyone was taken care of.
The «morning after» breakfast (for about 40 people) was spectacular. Our guests watched as the Cochon crew freshly scrambled the eggs, fried the hash-​browns, and baked the bacon right in front of them. My family was thrilled and I was relaxed knowing I had put my weekend in the hands of a professional.
Plus, the pricing was spot on. If you are a budget conscious bride looking for good food at a good price Cochon Catering is a must. Patrick worked with me to get exactly what I wanted, while completely honoring my planned budget. No surprises, just straight forward good food and good service.
I am not exaggerating when I say guests recounting our wedding ALWAYS mention how amazing the food was both at the reception and the breakfast. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and I highly, HIGHLY recommend Cochon Catering and Patrick for any of your catering needs.

Cochon catering was suggested to me by a food writer when I asked her opinion on who should cater our party. The last cater I used was Chef Jason Wilson who now owns Crush (love) and Cochon Catering was another amazing experience. Wish I could afford to do this more often! I am allergic to gluten and the chef, Patrick Frank, is very experienced with food allergies and created a fantastic menu. Also, he is personable and fun to have in the house. So was his trusted assistant. They were professional, exceptional, punctual, clean and creative. The guests could not stop talking about the food! everything was divine. Chef Frank even got my Pyrex out and froze his yummy sauce left overs for me, which I served again and got to re-​live the fantastic-​ness. Ok, ’nuff said. Rockstar choice. Six stars, really. Exceeded my expectations.

Chef Patrick is FABULOUS! He made my husband’s «big birthday» party an enormous success. Our guests literally stopped mid meal to applaud him and are still raving about his culinary talents. And, I’m a star simply because I «found» him!
I’m a type-​A, OCD personality with really high expectations, but he WOW’d me… and everyone else there! Everything was absolutely phenomenal… the taste, presentation, service and oh my gosh, the clean up too! When can you have eight people over for an amazing gourmet dinner and have a spotless kitchen before you’re done eating a delightful dessert?! I will definitely find another occasion to experience his food and service!

My wife and I had a big wedding last August, but we recently made it legal (yeah, Washington!) and threw a party to celebrate in our home. I was so excited for Cochon to cater it!
Patrick offered such an array of yummy-​sounding choices, it was difficult to pick which appetizers we wanted, but we finally settled on a few that included a roasted beet and quinoa salad served on a Chinese spoon, goat cheese and roasted mushroom phyllo cups, and a smoked salmon on rye with crème freshe and chives. My standout fave was a perfectly seasoned, pleasantly tangy artichoke and spinach salad served on crostini — YUM!
Patrick was informative, punctual, personable, and kept the plates full of amazing food throughout our event. We couldn’t be happier.

Did I just die and become a celebrity? Nope, just another day at the office! Chef Patrick comes and makes amazing lunch for us every week which automatically becomes my most favorite day of the week. Today I had the pulled pork sandwich and a side salad with nectarine, avocado and pistachios. Let’s just say my whole day got brighter after eating my meal. Chef Patrick is a wonderful, creative, innovative chef. Not to mention, a pleasure to work with. I would definitely recommend using his services for your next party, office gathering, or he even has personal chef services if you want to treat yourself!

I am the mother of two young kids and have two injured feet and have been primarily in a wheelchair. My folks helped me out by finding Patrick, the owner and cook of Cochon catering and gifting us with a couple of weeks of prepared meals for our family. I can’t begin to say enough about this food! It’s insanely delicious! Every time we heat something up in the microwave and sit down to eat it, we feel as if we’ve gone out to eat in some four star restaurant. It’s been a lifesaver. In addition to the quality of food, Patrick accommodated all of our dietary needs which include the needs of meat eaters, a vegetarian and a picky eater. I really can’t say enough about Cochon Catering and am looking forward to more meals by Patrick in the future.

We hired Patrick of Cochon Catering to prepare the meal for a dinner party for 12. We are from out of town and were coming to Seattle to celebrate a special occasion for my sister, so everything was arranged by phone and e-​mail in advance. I had rather picky notions of what I wanted for food and Patrick was soooooo easy to work with! He accommodated my every menu request and went above and beyond in the food prep. I asked for a Shepherd’s Pie and he chose a quality cut of meat and braised it for 14 hours before putting it together for our dinner! I wished we lived in Seattle, as I would like to experience more of Patrick’s cooking. Everything was delicious and his prices were quite reasonable.

I used Cochon’s services recently to cater a friend’s baby shower! I wanted to do a Halloween/​Pumpkin theme since Halloween is the mom’s favorite holiday but I wasn’t sure how to pull off the food. Once I told Patrick my idea for the theme, his eyes lit up with excitement and you could tell the creativity was flowing. He put together such a fun menu: Black Bean & Roasted Pumpkin salad served in tortilla chips, Pumpkin soup in mini pumpkins, crispy pumpkin cakes w/​smoked salmon and crème fraîche, Roasted Red pepper hummus w/​toasted pita & a Quinoa salad w/​roasted beets, sweet potatoes, dried cranberries, almonds and candied pears. It was delish!
You can tell that Patrick puts a lot of time and love into his cooking. He came over and did all of the set-​up for me. He even brought his own plates so that I didn’t have to worry about a thing! His enthusiasm is contagious – I was so excited to showcase the food at the shower and it was a huge success. Definitely give him two thumbs up!

DELICIOUS! I hired Chef Patrick to cater for a weekend bachelorette party. Patrick came up with the whole menu, I didn’t have to worry about a thing. He came to my event, did all the prep, all the cooking and cleaning, it was all done in the amount of time he said it would be done, and the food was incredible! All my guests were very impressed with Patrick’s food skills. I will certianly hire him again for my next event. It doesn’t get any better than this!

Patrick came to our office, and gave us an on-​premise food option (not something we normally have).
The roast beef panini was insane. I was talking with Patrick as he was making my sandwich. The carmelized onions were cooked over the course of several hours with thyme (i think, maybe it was another herb), and towards the end he added some balsamic vinger. They were delicious, and kind of just wanted to a big bowl of those. The roast beef had about an ¹⁄₈^th of an inch of browned edge, and the rest was perfectly pink. Everything was very tender.
The horseradish potato salad had nice big chunks of red potatoes. The dressing had a nice little kick from the horseradish, and some good flavor from the chives.
And to top it all off, Chocolate Chip Cookies that were amazing. I tried a bite of a coworkers mocha-​dipped cookie. Both are definitely worth the calories.

Patrick brought in lunch to our office and we were able to order and pay ahead of time, then it just took about 5 minutes to go pick up my freshly made lunch. The sandwich I had far surpassed any restaurant in town and it was so convenient to just walk around the corner and have Patrick there. My productivity stayed strong and I saved so much time by having access in the office.
Did I mention that the sandwich was to die for??? I wish Patrick was here daily!

Patrick is a genius. He creates meals that are fascinating (he’s very creative) and makes them just how you want them. For example, for my bithday two years ago, I asked for homemade pasta. So, he used a duck egg yolk to make gnocchi then tossed these tasty morsels in a fresh cream sauce! It was delicious. Soon after I realized that I couldn’t eat gluten so, for my next birthday, he made risotto and the yummiest dang scallops you have ever tasted in your life — tender and so flavorful.
There is no better deal out there to tickle your tastebuds and leave you happy and wanting more than Cochon Catering. Plus, Patrick is smart and funny and you’ll like getting to know him.
