Established in 2015.

Cloud Break Optics was started by amateur astronomers and astrophotographers Matt Dahl and Stephanie Pahl Anderson in order to provide a hub for astronomy equipment, information, advice, and community. They created a store that caters to beginners and pros alike and strives to provide excellent service for all ability levels.

Business Owner

Stephanie had a passion for astronomy from age 8, when she first encountered a non-​fiction book written by Issac Asimov on the subject. In her teens and early twenties she was supported and encouraged by the Denver Astronomical Society, who helped her pay for her physics and mathematics education. During college she worked at a telescope store and fell in love with astronomy equipment and with the community surrounding amateur astronomy. After college she went on to teach physics and astronomy at both Metropolitan State University and the University of Colorado Denver.
