Our office is dedicated to fulfilling all of your eye care needs including: comprehensive eye exams, glasses & designer frames, contact lenses, surgical co-​management for LASIK and Cataracts, eye disease treatment (i.e. Glaucoma & Diabetes), and emergency eye care.

We offer a large selection of designer frames, including Maui Jim, iSee! Berlin, Alain Mikli, Lafont, Prada, and many more!

History

Established in 1999.

Drs. John Dubicki and Kerri Svanda moved to Seattle in 1998 and settled in the Queen Anne neighborhood. Immediately they recognized the opportunity to be part of and contribute to this growing community.

Dr. Dubicki grew up in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Science in 1991. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1996 from the University of Missouri — St. Louis. Dr. Dubicki is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Optometric Physicians of Washington.

Outside of the workplace, Dr. Dubicki enjoys spending time with his wife Kerri and their three children. He plays ice hockey, likes to golf and ski, and whenever possible, explores the great northwest with is family.

Dr. Dubicki and his staff are wonderful. They work as a team and help everyone feel welcome and at ease in their office. Everyone is well informed and can answer any question you have. I came in to have my eyes checked for the first time in a decade. Not only were they helpful and kind, they helped educate me in all the steps they were taking to check my eyes. Dr. Dubicki is so incredibly patient and kind. He explained what had changed with my prescription and showed me the difference in my eye sight.
Once the exam was over Erika took the time to sit down with me and pick out the perfect pair of glasses for my look and style. She took the time to explain the differences of each style and even gave me a few minutes to look them over and figure out which pair I was most comfortable with.

Hands down best optometrist I’ve been to in a very long time (and I’ve been wearing glasses since elementary!). I came in to their location in a bit of a crisis as my last contacts were finished and I needed a temporary set (along with new glasses and contacts + new prescription). They saved the day and got me a loner pair and upon my return, worked with my insurance to put me in an amazing pair of new glasses. Very stylish and different from my usual boring selections.
I just went and picked them up and not only is the prescription PERFECT, they look great and are incredibly comfortable. I’m wearing them now! Do yourself a favor and avoid lenscrafters and the wholesale joints and come to a place where their #1 concern is taking care of you and your eyes and making the sale second.

This is my neighborhood eye care shop in Queen Anne, so I picked it because I could walk there but after my experience, I would have driven an hour to it. The women who work here are fabulous; they not only know about eye prescriptions but they know how to help you choose the right frame for your face. Dr. Dubicki administered my eye exam and was friendly and efficient. They also worked expertly with my insurance plan. I highly recommend City Eye Care, even if it’s not in your neighborhood!

City Eye Care is very accommodating & professional. They were easy to work with for scheduling appointments, and although they underestimated how long it would take for my glasses to arrive, they were apologetic and helpful throughout the experience.

Stopped in on Halloween to check out their selection of glasses. Not really knowing what I was looking for, Erika gave me a tour and a pair caught my eye. Confirmed with my insurance whether City was in network or out. Unfortunately City was out. I liked the glasses so much I bought them anyway. Yolo as the kids say. Great experience all around.
Quick note, be mindful of their store hours before going there. Check their website since they’re closed Monday’s and from 1−2pm for lunch. Also, they have free parking in the garage immediately to the right of the door. Missed that the first time.

Dr. Dubicki and his staff are outstanding at customer service and optometry. I continue to see him even though he is out of network because after visiting numerous doctors he was the one who finally placed me in the correct prescription.

I love this clinic and Dr. Dubiki. I have been going to City Eye Care since I moved to Seattle in 2001. Since I have needed glasses my entire life, I have seen many optometrists. The staff her are friendly and proficient and always pro-​active in handling insurance issues. Dr. Dubiki is friendly and likes to interact with his patients and has always answered my questions and even personally helped me pick out frames.
Conclusion, go to this office!

Dr. Dubiki has been my doc since 2001. He is an extremely gifted physician… He is pleasant, knowledgeable, and he listens. His eye exams are extremely thorough. I have found his front of house staff helpful, courteous and pleasant. They always have helped me pick out the right frames as well.

Dr. Dubiki has been my eye doctor since 2000 and he is awesome!!! I recently moved to California and came to Seattle for a few days and made an appointment to see him. I highly recommend him and am not looking forward to the day I have to find a new eye doc in CA.

I went to an exam with Dr. Dubicki almost a year ago but finally got around to writing a review.
When I asked about Lasik surgery, Dr. Dubicki was very condescending when talking about it with me. I am pretty young, but previous eye doctors (when I was even younger) had told me I was a good candidate as my prescription hasn’t changed in at least 4 years. He probably was right to tell me the risks of getting Lasik so young, but I thought he just told me in an incredibly rude way.
But the worse part happened when Dr. Dubicki unexpectedly dilated my eyes without asking me, warning me, or informing me in any way! I don’t have any family history of eye diseases and was really only there to get more contacts and ask about Lasik (see above…), so I’m not sure why he even did this. For those unaware, having your eyes dilated makes it difficult to see up close and makes your eyes very sensitive to light. I had never had my eyes dilated before, and I had driven myself to the office and did not have sunglasses. While he gave me these (very ugly) paper sunglasses, I was very uncomfortable driving home, and had an outdoor event later that day for which dilated eyes were very annoying.
This experience destroyed my trust in this doctor and I have no reason to recommend him or return.

Thank you, City Eye Care! Dr Dubicki and his eye glass specialist, Neda, are incredibly caring and thoughtful about my eye needs. Dr Dubicki has continually refined my contact lens prescription to meet my ever changing eye needs as I age! Regarding glasses: After I was unhappy with my first selection of frames, Neda helped me choose another pair and offered to switch the lenses to fit another frame at no cost to me. Thank you! This is superior customer service, and I appreciate you treating me as a person, not a transaction.

Ordered prescription sunglasses over a month ago and was told they’d be ready in 7 – 10 days. They ordered the wrong frames, then a lens broke in manufacturing, and then they tried to get me to pay another $ 90 (I’m already in $ 260), so it’s been over a month since the start. The correct frames finally came in and I was told it would be another 7 – 10 days for those lenses!
I said no thanks, I want my money back. That was a week ago, and they’ve argued and given me excuses when I call in to ask for my money back, and now they’ve said my insurance won’t return the benefit — so I can’t get another pair of glasses elsewhere for 2 years.
Needless to say, I will never return to City Eye Care.

Dr. Dubicki is a great guy and a very good doctor. Unfortunately, I purchased (for $ 300) a pair of reading glasses that were a non-​starter. Though the assistant admitted there was nothing wrong with the frame (they hadn’t been abused or misused) one of the lenses had fallen out. Instead of reeming the frame supplier for their substandard product and replacing the glasses for me with another more reliable frame, they offered to discount my «next» pair 30%, In other words… they wanted me to spend another $ 700 to recoup the $ 300 I had already spent. Not a good customer service policy, since clearly the frame (not the patient or doctor for that matter) was at fault. Did I mention that this was the second problem with the same frame? Did I mention that the lens popped out and was lost after only a week. I’ve had readers from the dollar store that were more durable. I will stick to CostCo or another retailer that will stand by what they sell and not make the patient pay for their supplier’s poor workmanship.

Dr. Dubicki and his team took great care of me. The combination of staring at a computer all day and turning 40 I thought it would be best to get my eyes checked out. Having never needed an eye exam before now I didn’t know what to expect and was not excited about the possibilities of needing eye wear. Dr. Dubicki made the process a lot less stressful and reassured me that wearing glasses when I look at the computer or read at night will just make things easier for me. By the end of the appointment I felt much better and with their help had picked out a pair of cute comfortable glasses that fit properly.

Another stop on my long quest to find new blue glasses. So people know– The spot on the map (as of today) is incorrect. Dont follow your iphone to this place, its ON Queen Anne N.
Didnt find what i needed, they had an average sized selection of fun, modern frames. I was being helped by a new employee and she offered suggestions from what products they had– I think one of the Dr’s overheard my dilemma, and he came right over and said he would take my name and number and keep an eye out for something in the shape and color i was looking for.
Seems like a friendly place!

Nice store, good frame selection, they take VSP, all good things. Unfortunately, the young lady «manning» the front desk seemed like she’d rather be having her teeth pulled than be working there. That attitude is contagious and I obliged by not staying long. Now anyone can have a bad day, but when you’re busy and a trip to look for frames is a rare treat, it was disappointing that her bad day was on my free time. Moving on…

Chris and I both had great, thorough eye exams here by Dr. Dubicki. They take VSP insurance which has a $ 15 copay and then Chris got a really good deal on new frames. Yeah, there are some really expensive frames (like $ 400) but his were about $ 100 with the VSP discount. They have a great selection too.
The staff is super nice and helpful, and I told them how happy they were that they were open on Saturdays. The Dr. understands that a lot of people can’t get their eyes dilated in the middle of workday.
I feel like our sight is in good hands.
PS. The map’s not totally right for this location — it’s in the apartment building with Chase (around the corner) right where Queen Anne Ave jogs to the east to continue down the hill (if you’re coming from the north). Trader Joe’s is about two blocks west of it. There’s a parking garage just to the right of the entrance.
