I would highly recommend looking elsewhere for a living situation. Somewhere with heat that works, where packages aren’t signed for and hoarded for weeks without informing you, where the elevator doesn’t constantly smell like vomit and pot, where drunk people don’t scream outside the window at 2am (or in the hallway), where fights don’t break out daily at the surrounding halfway houses, somewhere parking isn’t 200 $, or with rent increases of 25%, and look for places where management treats you with respect past the lease signing.
I’m surprised people put up with the disorganized management style there. But hey, at least you are close to where everything happens, like bar fights, muggings, protests, large construction projects, toga parties, rich Amazon snobs, and a constant mix of transient tenants.
They should reword ‘security deposit’ to ‘convenience fee.‘
Btw, who needs power outlets, or a garbage disposal… And thin walls let you in on plenty of gossip to get to know neighbors without actually meeting them face to face. Too bad my bike was stolen from their secure garage. I don’t recall getting informed of some stuff before signing into that lease.

It’s a great place to live! The studios are big and have lots of space! When I mean a lot I mean a lot of space. The laundry room is amazing. The managers are great. Very friendly and easy to communicate with. It’s a very safe secure building.

I do not live in the Apartments, but in the boarding house they tend to next to it (Dubbe the Charburn Inn). My experience here has been not a pleasant one.

First off, the management is abysmal. The only way to pay rent is to go into the apartments next door and write a check in person because the bill fluxuates due to utilities (which I have yet to see an invoice for, by the by.) However, this building is by buzzer service, and the one woman in the office is NEVER there during the office hours to buzz you in. When I complain about how inconvenient this all is, I get the same response every freaking time: «there is a drop box on the door.»
1. That door is IN THE BASEMENT, which I cannot get to unless you buzz me in.
2. The last time I dropped off a check (a random tenant let me in), I was charged late fees, because my randomly estimated amount for utilities was under by $ 20.
It really is sad that this house isn’t under better management. The house is beautiful, but without proper upkeep, it is decaying.
This could be such a wonderful building, and it just fails, so spectacularly.

It’s a fine building with thick concrete walls and one of the taller buildings in the area so if you live on the higher floors facing west you can get some great views of downtown (space needle, etc.).
Management was poor during my tenancy here, very disorganized and unprofessional. They tried to cancel my move-​in lease signing the day of my move-​in due to a corporate inspection after I had confirmed several times. The manager at the time lost my lease a week after move-​in and I had to resign all the paperwork. I was given a 3-​day pay/​vacate notice for a month that was supposed to be a free, and subsequently got charged late fee upon late fee for the error which took forever to clear up.
For a studio apartment, expect to pay about $ 65 a month for water, which isn’t metered and is split by tenants. The building uses Broadstripe for cable/​internet, and is reputed to be probably one of if not the worst ISPs in the nation. Everything is electric, heaters and stove. The water pressure is great and hot water is fast. A lot of the studios have a large closet (old murphy bed rooms), some of which are big enough to fit a queen-​sized bed and nothing else for a sleeping room.
I also recently got a rent increase of over $ 100 – 200 a month (depending on lease length) after a year and a half living there so I have no choice but to move. They are inflexible with the increase and won’t work with me. I called the management company, Epic Asset, and they haven’t returned my calls. It’s a fine building but overpriced now. I am pissed that they raised the rent significantly and value that revenue more than good, established tenants that pay their rent on time and take good care of their units.
