Wow! Marilyn totally changed my life!
Recently I went to Marilyn in the hopes of cutting down the amount of sugar I was eating. I knew I was eating too much of it but was having trouble avoiding drinking the free soda at work. I also hoped this might help me drop a few pounds.
Imagine my surprise when after the first session I quit a longtime habit! I just didn’t want to drink soda. Further, with additional sessions delving into the roots of my issues with food, I have been able to lose about 12 pounds in less than 2 months. That may not sound like much, but for me this is ridiculously fast and borderline miraculous — especially considering that I am not doing anything different consciously. I just don’t feel like eating more than a little.
That said, this is not the best part of the process at all. In the process of working on my eating Marilyn has managed to change my outlook on life overall. I’m energetic and happy — everybody is noticing! It has really changed my life for the better.
I cannot recommend Marilyn highly enough. :)

Marilyn is a magician. Over the years I’ve paid 1,000s of dollars and probably 1,000s of hours working on myself trying to change my self-​limiting thinking and patterns. Lots of stuff has helped me over the years, but some patterns were soooo deeply engrained into my subconscious there was a part of me that would rather die than change, or it thought that to change was death. So I struggled and struggled for years to improve myself and my life with little avail. But with Marilyn, my 9-​ish hours of one-​on-​one work with her so far has made more of a difference than 900 hours in the next best thing. And I’ve tried it ALL! I almost don’t want to write this, as she is so far booked out — in such high demand and I don’t really want the secret to get out more than it already is! But she deserves the praise because she’s a compassionate, caring and intuitive healer and the world needs her gifts.

Marilyn was a true pleasure to work with and I would not hesitate to go back to her in the future. She helped me deal with work and life related stress in a way that I did not think was possible. She is good at what she does and she uses her time with you very effectively. I felt like our sessions were not only productive, they fit within my busy lifestyle.
Highly recommend her and will probably use her again in the future.

It’s just over 3 months since I quit smoking and it is because of my sessions with Marilyn. Like others have said before I was still able to continue to drink and although my weight has fluctuated, I haven’t gained any significant weight, without doing very much exercise.
I was skeptical about the process, and I still occasionally crave a cigarette, and perhaps I will all my life, but Marilyn gave the tools and confidence to deal with those cravings and how to ignore them.
I found Marilyn personable and professional — make sure to avoid coffee before the session, I arrived at my first session with Starbucks in hand! LOL
I would recommend Marilyn for those struggling to quit smoking, and need the extra boost that will take it to the next level of being smoke free.

I have had hypnotherapy in the past and I have even studied hypnotherapy myself, so I know how powerful the subconscious mind is. However, no other hypnotherapist I have seen can come close to Marilyn’s talent, technique, and amazingness!!! I «had» a severe problem with insomnia for MANY years. I had been to sleep clinics, psychiatrists, acupuncturists, etc. with little progress. The only thing that really helped me was being on medication for many years and even then I would have nights of no sleep. I really felt awful about sleeping and built up a cycle of fear around anything having to do with sleep. So when I moved to Seattle, I scheduled a session with Marilyn due to one person’s review that claimed she cured their insomnia.
I felt someone saying they had been «cured» from insomnia was a bold statement because it was difficult for me to believe anything could work. However, I must say that after 3 sessions with Marilyn, I am NOW GETTING TO SLEEP ON MY OWN (without medication) and sleeping through the entire night! It really is wonderful!!! My fear surrounding night time in general was gone in one session. Marilyn’s hypnotherapy plan for each individual is very personalized to them. She also provided me with a packet full of information, CD, and gave me multiple tools I could practice once I left the session. I really can’t rave about Marilyn enough and I am so grateful for what she has done for me. Her hypnotherapy sessions are priceless.
In addition, Marilyn is a sweet genuine person. Her hypnotherapy skills are calming, and she is trained in different modalities for a holistic approach to reaching the subconscious mind for positive change. She never ceases to amaze me with her talent and I really hope that one day she can open a school to train other hypnotherapists. She is ridiculously popular and of course I highly highly recommend her!

OK. An update. I went to Marilyn to quit smoking. I paid for 4 visits as at first I had her hypnotize me to WANT to quit smoking– which she did. After the 3^rd visit (1 a week) I put out my last cigarette and that was in early May 2010. I haven’t smoked or wanted to smoke since then, even though my roommate smoked & to this day many of my friends smoke & I’ve never been tempted, even while drinking (& i drink!) I don’t know why it worked but it did. I’ve been smoke free over 3 years and weigh less now than when I smoked. Thank you thank you Marilyn!

Marilyn is amazing!!! This is my first time doing hypnotherapy. I buy a package of 5 sessions bc I was carring a lot things inside of me, traumas, deep negative emotions, a lot anxiety, insecurities etc. I was in a bad place.
I am so thankful I have the chance to see her, bc today I feel like a new person. It was a good quick alternative of therapy. She is very friendly, has a lot patiente, very kind person and good listener, specially bc I am from other country and she give me a lot attention. Also she will give you material to take home to continue your progress. :)

Phobia be gone!
My bridge phobia was out of control. I would become anxious just thinking about bridges or being in close proximity to bridges. The anxiety and stress of this phobia was expanding into my daily driving and life in general. After careful research I selected Marilyn Buchanan at Center of the Universe Hypnotherapy. After my first session my skepticism was gone and after my 3^rd session I was able to drive over one of my feared bridges with ease. I’m taking it one bridge at a time, but am now confident that I can do it.

Hypnosis? ME? Yeah, right. I’d always thought of it as weirdo nonsense… but I was desperate to quit my 16 year smoking habit. After an hour with Marilyn, I couldn’t smoke and haven’t smoked in 2 months.
Professional, friendly, personable. Will use again. Highly recommended.
