Carpet Liquidators

Our contractor recommended Carpet Liquidators to us as he was able to get us special pricing there, so off we went to check out their offerings. We were in the market for some high quality (12mm) laminate, and these guys were rolling in the stuff. Todd helped us out by showing us the various options, explaining the differences, and not pressuring us to make any decisions. We made our choice (Radiant Luster Gobi – highly recommended if you want laminate that’s a lighter shade of wood and on the shinier side), and were assured that we’d be refunded for any leftover boxes after our job was done. They even coordinated with our contractor for pickup of the materials. The entire process went seamlessly and painlessly!

We were way overdue for new stairs carpet, laminate landing area, and basement carpet. Procrastinated and then finally went to the S Seattle store. Todd and Mike were super helpful and they even had their guy come out and double check measurements and potential problems w/​install. Got a GREAT deal on high quality durable carpet and laminate that looks awesome. The install guys did it in one day and left no mess behind. Why didn’t I do this sooner? Way easier and affordable than I thought

Andrew was super helpful in helping us pick out the right carpet and tile for our new home. The installers did a great job, were quick but still produced the bull nose finish on our stairs with a super high quality. The value we got for our carpet and tile was exceptional, and we were able to get installed quickly and effectively.

Andrew and Sam very helped me through the whole process from pick the carpet, quoting, and installation. My schedule was flux before the carpet installation, but they were able to accommodate my schedule within 24 hours of notice. I called Andrew and Sam on Friday and ask if they could do the measurement & installation on Saturday, and they pulled it off! The rooms was measured on Saturday 9AM and new carpet installed by 1PM. The carpet installer they sent was very professional, disassembled the wall shelves that were obstructing the carpet and assembled them back after the installation. The installer also cleaned my hallway, condo lobby, and garage after the job was done. It was a very pleasant experience overall. Very satisfied with their service.

Todd did an excellent job helping me pick carpet. He gave me details over the phone. I popped in and we found some options. Shane was out right away to measure and pricing was sent via email. We communicated over text which works great for me and the installation guys showed up on time and got everything done plus cleaned up. I’m so glad I kept looking and found this team!

Tom was very helpful and friendly. The prices were about 40% lower than what I was quoted by Lowe’s and Dallas Watson. The installers were prompt, courteous, and did a great job.

I had an amazing experience at the South Seattle location! I came into the store with a tight budget and not much knowledge about what kind of carpet would work best for my home, but Mike Fleming really helped me throughout the process, which eventually led me to choosing the best carpet based on my needs. The prices here are excellent as well, and the selection is endless! I will definitely be looking forward to returning to Carpet Liquidators in the future for all my flooring needs!

I’ll be honest, I held the cursor over the 2 stars for a minute but chose to be kind.
I really didn’t have a great experience here. Our sales person was pretty inept at being clear on a few things that increased our price to about 30% more than we expected. It wasn’t a fun time to have that conversation with me I’m sure.
I really don’t think that service should be that hard but it seemed to be. Because it was a super tight installation schedule for our new offices, we ended up feeling stuck with going forward but had we been able to, I’d have happily gone elsewhere.
We were told we had to pre-​pay the entire amount to get on the installation schedule which seemed super super inconsistent with my other commercial carpet installations so I was put off immediately and it just kept getting worse.
The salesperson wouldn’t even let us work with anyone but him– if he was off work, all conversations stopped until he returned– and I felt like we were being scammed even if we weren’t. It was a bad feeling.
That being said, the carpet installation itself was fantastic and the product itself looks great, still I would never recommend this place to anyone unless they are super desperate and even then, I’d be sure to be REALLY CLEAR about the price and ask for the manager if you don’t like the way the salesperson is treating you.
Actually, the more I think about it, I don’t think they deserve three stars even so you’re now seeing why that first line seems confusing.

Walking in here made me feel like a real adult. Ah yes, buying carpet now made me a true adult. Thank you, Carpet Liquidators.
But on a serious note, I appreciate the fact that they did not attack me as soon as I walked through the door. They did exactly what I wanted and like. Asked what I was looking for, showed me where it was, and left me the hell alone until I had questions again. Great selection and low prices. I plan to buy from them when I am ready.

The day before the install, they increased the square footage by just over 75%, despite having scale architectural drawings for the estimate. First they asserted I hadn’t given them good information, then when I pointed out the scale drawings, they shifted their argument to two small triangular sections (4 square feet each and which had been on the original estimate too) as the source of the extra 150 square feet.
What matters most is how a vendor responds when something goes awry. In my case they were abusive, flatly dishonest, and non-​responsive to my concerns. I“m a soft-​spoken and reasonable guy, and their practiced and stone-​walling response to a fair question about a huge overage (they are, afterall in the business of estimating areas) suggests this is their standard way of doing business.
UPDATE: I measured the prior carpet that I’d removed and after accounting for reasonable waste, have confirmed they sold me nearly twice as much carpet as was needed (and originally estimated).

Although I didn’t buy carpet from CL, I did give them a call one Saturday morning to find out if they had any carpet in the color I was looking for. I spoke with Andrew who not only went looking to see what they had in stock but sent me PHOTOs of the 3 colors that were similar to what I was after! I thought one of them would do so I went there to take a look but unfortunately they were too light. Anyways, I really really wish they had the color I needed as they STOCK all their carpet so you don’t have to wait a month to get it. And their prices are good too. And they don’t try to sell you something that you don’t like. Awesome customer service all the way!

From the selection they had to the install they were awesome. We needed to have the carpets installed in our new home within a week. Andrew and his team worked with us and made the whole process very easy for us. One less thing we had to worry about! Thank you Andrew.

Nice guys, but little help over the phone as to what they had on inventory and price. I ended up buying a $ 200 piece of carpet that was pretty dang dirty when I unrolled it. :(

I went to Carpet Liquidators (CL) after another carpet company flaked out on me. I’d read the reviews here so thought it was safe. I had just a couple of weeks left before I was due to have surgery, so I was thrilled when they said they could install by Feb 1^st. I REALLY regret doing business with this company. To avoid a really long narrative, I’ll just hit the highlights:
1) when I went to the showroom, salesman Sam immediately started insisting I pick a neutral color carpet, despite my own preference
2) when the measuring guy — Shane, who was rude and ½ hour late — came to measure, he was not only discourteous, he also tried to rip me off. The previous company had done a thorough measure and I used their dimensions when I was working with CL on the estimates. When Shane came to measure, mostly because I didn’t want to deal with him for longer than I needed to, I didn’t bother having him measure one of the closets. Even though he measured a smaller total area, he came up with (you guessed it!) a larger sq footage than the original that did include the extra closet
3) when I received a call from CL asking for more money and questioned Shane’s inflated sq footage, they called back and informed me they had taken some of it off. (!!!)
4) I wasn’t able to be at home on the day of the install, so a friend of mine stayed at my place to let them in. As before, they were late and rude. But that wasn’t the worst of it. Imagine my shock when I returned home to find THE WRONG CARPET installed all throughout my condo. Naturally I called Sam, who proceeded to insist that that was the carpet I picked out because that was the one he put on the receipt. Getting nowhere with Sam, I BEGGED to speak to a manager. After about a 10-​min hold, Mike, the owner, came on the line. I cannot even begin to describe how rude, disrespectful and condescending this man was. He refused to let me speak and kept insinuating that somehow I had done this on purpose. He also spent a significant amount of time whining about how he would «have to pay for the labor twice» and was «going to have to sell used carpet».
As things stand, they are supposed to come and replace the carpet in a few weeks. Do I want to deal with these lying, cheating, disrespectful morons again? Absolutely not. But the alternative is to live for years with carpet I never wanted.
Word to the wise: if you do business with these people, make sure you pay attention each step of the way, question everything, and — if you’re a single woman — make sure you take some burly man with you or these goons will take advantage of you any way they can.

I just moved into a new condo — my first place that have ever owned! Well, based on my schedule and my needs — I figured out that I needed carpet installed ASAP before I could hire movers. So time became a factor. Well, I hired movers and then promptly went to work finding a carpet installer who could put the new stuff in before the furniture arrived.
Home Depot needed at LEAST three WEEKS! Egads! I didn’t have that kind of time. So I went down the street to Carpet Liquidators. Wow.
The salesman was SO helpful and friendly. He took my VERY accurate floor plan to get my measurements. Mind you — I ended up an accounting major but barely decided against architecture. I have MAD drafting skills and I presented a PROFESSIONAL layout of the new place with EXACT measurements. The carpet saleswoman at Home Depot shooed away my floor plans and assured me that they were wrong and that I NEEDED a $ 70 measuring team to come and check the layout. Bullshit!
Carpet liquidators took my EXACT diagrams and sent them to the installer and everything was squared away IMMEDIATELY. Oh weird — they believed me! Because I’ve NEVER gone into any carpet store with false diagrams before — so why not believe me now? My measurements were PERFECT. So Carpet Liquidators wanted to install the NEXT DAY. I had to push it back 72 hours when I had time off for them.
Well on the scheduled day, one single man showed up to do the job, He actually called early to see if he could start ahead of schedule — and that he did. He worked tirelessly until he had removed all the old carpet and pad and installed all the new. I tried to make him take a break with me and have a cold pop but he wouldn’t have any of it! He finished the job so quickly and PERFECTLY that I couldn’t believe it! Liquidators management — if you are reading this, I want you to know how great my installer was. I forget his name now, but he did my carpet install on Harbor Ave in West Seattle on Dec 18^th and he was AMAZING!

All I needed was a low priced basement carpet and installation. The employee who met with me was terrific — informative, experienced, intelligent and very helpful. No run arounds. I brought them the measurements, showed them photos of the basement, ordered and paid for the carpet. The installation was done within 2 hours within 7 days, and very well. Great price.

Got an amazing deal on our new Frieze Smartstrand carpet. Couldn’t be happier! Prices were WAY lower than at home depot, lowes and empire today.

We purchased carpet today from Todd at Carpet Liquidators, and he was really a joy to work with. He listened carefully to our criteria, quickly located the products that matched them, and provided free entertainment all along the way! (The man is hilarious.) He took care explaining each expense and never made us feel any pressure to spend more money. We’re only sorry it’ll probably be a long while before we need to buy any more carpet: we’d certainly do business with him again!
