Canvas

Prior to moving to Seattle, I spent two days in town looking at apartments all over the city. I decided on Canvas, for a number of reasons: The building is new, modern, and well kept. It’s a great location with easy access to surrounding neighborhoods, from downtown to Ballard. The rooftop is awesome with great views, good space, and a fire pit. Last, but not least, the office staff (Leah and Donna) are the best. The move in process was seamless and they are always accommodating, Donna will even watch your dog for you!
Overall, I am happy with my move and Canvas!

I just moved to Seattle this past summer and wasn’t very familiar with the area. Canvas was the best thing that could’ve happened to me with it’s central location and beautiful views. It’s so easy to get around and being a new building the aparments are fresh and modern. The rooftop is an amazing additional space with a outdoor TV, grill and firepit. It’s great for when you want to get some fresh air and has beautiful views of Elliott Bay and the mountains!
The staff is so friendly and always happy to say hello and help as needed. Leah, the property manager, really makes you feel like you and any of your concerns are her main priority (which is not always the case in apt buildings). The downsides are that parking is very expensive and that it’s not as easy to meet people in the building as I had hoped. Regardless, the building and staff are great and you can’t beat the location and views.
Canvas is definitely worth taking a look at:)

The staff who showed us around (good for her that i forgot her name) was one of the meanest persons i have ever met in my life! We did not care what the apartments looked like coz of her rude behavior from the start. And do not intend to move in here or recommend this place to anyone in a million years.

Its a very convenient location, and the staff is really nice and helpful. The only thing that is a bother, is that the garbage gets stuck on the chute every now and then and that means you can’t throw your own and have to wait until the management can come and fix it. The building is really secure but it’s inconvenient that you cant really buzz someone in, you have to come all the way down to let them in. The rent is a little high but all the amenities made it worth it, the apartments are well insulated so its not cold in the winter. There’s a Safeway, QFC in walk in distance, and a convenience store right next to the gas station, there’s also a Zipcar spot if you are interested in car share, overall it’s a great place to live, especially if you’re new in town. Totally recommended.

I have been a tenant of Canvas since June 2015, and have really loved working with Leah & Donna. They are two of the nicest managers I’ve had Every time I need something, I can count on them to help me, and figure out the best solution. The loft I leased is very modern, and comfortable. The rooftop at Canvas is one of the nicest in Seattle. The tv and lounge area is amazing. I’d highly recommend Canvas as a home for all interested in high end living.

I have lived here for close to a year and have really liked it! It’s a great location in a new building. The neighbors are also pretty friendly :)
The good things: nice staff, new building, great roof top and community room, quiet (with regard to my neighbors), and the events hosted by the staff have been a nice bonus!
The not so great things: noise from Elliott Ave, parking and rent cost are a little high (especially parking), and dog barking.
I have to say that I think the barking dogs, which is mainly an issue in the warmer months, is from the condos on the backside of the Canvas building. I don’t know that there is much they can do, but hopefully they see this and can let the landlord of the blue and gray condo building know :)

I would have been much more positive with my review 6 months ago but new tenants and property management staff very negatively effected my opinion of this building. It offers a convenient location and great spaces with modern designs but suffers from noisy neighbors and paper thin walls. The hard plank flooring means you’ll hear every step your upstairs neighbors take and dogs barking in the area can be maddening if you’re trying to relax.
Also, the property managers are fairly incompetent and struggle with simple paperwork. One in particular named Donna will not lift a finger to help you unless it’s to her benefit. She’s very argumentative and will spend 10 minutes making excuses for why she’s unwilling to take on a simple task that would take 30 seconds to complete. The other, named Leah, is quite sweet but was easily confused and very inconsistent.
Personally, I didn’t enjoy living here at all toward the end of my stay so I’d suggest that people look elsewhere. It may work if you’re rarely home before midnight or have a high tolerance for noise though. If that’s the case, the rooftop patio area really is quite nice in July and August.

First of all, this is a very nice /​brand new apartment. It’s located on Elliot Ave next to Queen Anne & Bell Town. You need to pay for parking since the street parking is always full and limited time (bus line). The apartment itself is very nice but only one thing which upset me:
The Apartment Manager: Her name is Yvonne. Her staff (Joey, a very nice guy) had made a deal with us to move in with 15 months lease and we paid our application online ($ 175). Three days later, we called back and the manager told us that she gave that Unit to someone else. If we didnt call back, we wouldnt know what was happening and expected everything was on schedule with the moving plans. She said that she couldnt call us because the phone number was wrong on the profile, so that was why she gave that Unit to someone else. It was very funny because we had been working back & forth with her staff many times before that (phone and emails).
We were screwed by the manager and we had only 10 days before moving in. We had very busy schedule and we tried very hard in the next couple days to find replacement.
I had a very bad experience with the manager working here. This is not the way she handles her business. Now we have to wait for 14 days for the refund and a rock to swallow.
Recommendation: work with her staff if you’re planning to move here and make sure to check on them regularly. The staff will fully support you (my case was Joey). Very professional and helpful.

This place is greaaaat :) I moved here for work and wanted to hold a place and Yvonne and Joey were great help throughout the process. They are super pet friendly and awesome when it comes to advice on the area and up and coming events within the apartment. They have treats for your pup when you pass the office! They’d also host get-​togethers in the community area on Sundays.
Canvas has a variety of floorplans ranging from lofts, studios, 1 & 2 bedroom apartments. The building is new so some maintenance stuff comes up. However, Joey and Yvonne are super quick to help out and send someone quickly.
Canvas is a quick walk to the Lower Queen Anne area that has restaurants to include Thai, phở, pubs, oyster bars, grills, The Melting Pot, etc on Mercer. It’s also a quick walk to Belltown. It’s just over a 1.5 mile walk to Pike Place as well. So if you don’t want to deal with parking, it’s not too bad to just take a stroll that way. You can walk to Safeway or Metropolitan Market for groceries, and there’s a Bartell drug store above the Metropolitan Market. The location is pretty sweet and holds a good balance on driving distance to stores if you’re not up for a stroll.
I’m new to the area and am super thankful that I’ve chosen to start my new chapter here.

I love living here. The location is perfect. It’s still in the city but slightly industrial. Just a quick walk and you’re in lower Queen Anne.
The apartments them selves are great. Brand new everything and high quality appliances with thoughtful layouts
The amenities here are amazing. There’s the community room with a full kitchen and huge TV with xbox and surround sound. Even the roof top has a huge TV. There’s even a keg tap! The gym is small but adequate.
All in all, I’m happy to live at Canvas.

Nice and beautiful apartment. I get a great view of puget sound from my apartment 514. Their service is really good. If i need a maintenance i send a mail and they did it on that day. They send a mail when i have a mail. when i am not able to pick it on working time i just tell them to drop it to my door. They have all internet provider. Finally i am able to get our from comcast. I am using cascade internet which is really fast. Overall they have all new modern feature that should have a new apartment.
