We are a family operated business and all major cleaning is performed on-​site. You can be sure that the service provided by Bön Ton Cleaners will be friendly, efficient, and consistent.

History

Established in 2005.

Fred and Sue Cho met in South Korea and eventually married in then West Germany! Eventually, they decided to immigrate to the United States in 1973 to begin a new life here and give greater opportunities to their children. After living in South Korea, West Germany, Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Diego, they finally moved to Seattle in December 1999.

Fred and Sue first took up dry cleaning in 1983. In 2005, they took over the ownership of Bön Ton Cleaners.

In 2014, Bön Ton Cleaners installed a brand new eco-​friendly dry cleaning machine.

Bön Ton Cleaners will be highlighted on March 24th and 26th, 2015, during the EnviroStars sponsorship message on national public radio station KUOW 94.9 FM.

Business Owner

Fred is a professionally trained, licensed technician who was once a representative of R. R. Street & Co. He has taught seminars in clothing care and stain removal and has also instructed other dry cleaners in machine use, maintenance, and care. Besides having been in the dry cleaning business for several decades, Sue also has over 30 years experience in tailoring and alterations. Fred and Sue take pride in providing expert cleaning and high quality work.

They are simply the BEST! I have used dry cleaners all over Seattle and Bön Ton Cleaners are amazing. I cannot say enough good things about them.
They are professional, timely, great quality and wonderful customer service. I have also had some «rushed» orders and weird requests (table clothes for a wedding needed in two days) and they were cool, calm and collected.
Definitely send your business there — you will not regret it!

Unhappy, first-​time customer. Brought in a jacket to have the sleeves altered. Instead of a friendly greeting, I was ignored by the only person in the store who was playing on her phone — I had to say hi after a moment of silence. I requested to maintain the 4 buttons on the sleeve. When I got it back (same unfriendly greeting by another person), they decided that three was best for me, no phone call. Plus the sleeves were all curled at the ends, I asked if they pressed it, they said that would be an extra $ 14. Very poor experience.

My girlfriend has used this cleaner for years and recommended them. I have taken in pants, shirts, jackets etc all with great results. I have also had them do some alterations which were very reasonable and well done. This is our go to cleaners!

I am so impressed by this Cleaners. I have a wool blend coat with artificial leather accents and trim that smelled horrible after I wore it to my aunt’s house which smells like an ashtray (ugh so gross and stinky!). It is my favorite coat. I tried my usual cleaners & they said no way, that the fake leather would be too hard to clean & bleed all over the coat. I went on Unilocal saw all the positive reviews and I went and tried this place.
Bön Ton Cleaners was upfront & honest that they’d do their best and couldn’t 100% say the fake leather wouldn’t bleed. She seemed confident and I nervously left it there. I picked it up today and it looks brand new and has no smell! I am so happy I will continue to use this cleaners. I thought the price was fair at $ 18. The woman working both times I went in was friendly.

I brought in a heavy coat made from upholstery material and a vintage organdy dress from the 1950s. They called twice about worn spots on the vintage piece before cleaning it, just to make sure I knew those spots might be weak enough to tear. Both pieces came back looking great, and the total was only $ 30! Great family business; I will definitely use again.

I cannot say enough good things about Bön Ton Cleaners. They’ve been doing my dry cleaning & alterations for nearly 10 years since we moved to the neighborhood and I have always been extremely happy with the results. The family owners are very sweet, and genuinely want to please.
I love them for alterations; I’ve had a few items with special hems & she was able to match the unique thread colors & stitching. Of course over 10 years I’ve gotten some doosy stains on items and they’ve Always managed to remove them.
I haven’t purchased one yet, but they sell cool «green» hanging bags to replace the hostile plastic bags cleaners have used for years.
Prices are reasonable, turnaround is fast, you will be glad you brought your business to these nice people.

I tend to shop for sales and often get nice jeans that are a bit too long, but even with paying for tailoring I still save $. Anyway, I’m impressed with how easy and cheap this place does that for me. Without taking my word for the measurement, they have me model the jeans, pin them just right, and when they’re done it looks like that’s how they were made. For just 13 dollars and some change per pair. Pretty sweet deal if you ask me.

They did a great great job on a suit and shirts, and it cost just over $ 20! And the same pleasant customer service at drop off and pick up!
I don’t know what environmentally friendly dry cleaning actually is, but I’m glad that they do it. Oh, and their hours are great too for dropping stuff off before work and picking up after work.

I’ve taken a couple of blazers and dresses here before, and while I thought they were a bit overpriced, they are close to my house and did a good job. Last week I brought in 2 dress shirts. The price on the ticket was $ 4.72. «Finally, I got a good deal here!» I thought.
When I went to pick them up, suddenly the price had jumped to $ 14.78. Apparently because they are women’s shirts. Well, let’s see, I’m a woman dropping off 2 shirts to be cleaned — shouldn’t you check to see if they are women’s shirts before giving me a price if your price quote is going to be off that much???
Feeling ripped off. Will not be returning.

Reasonable prices (though not cheap) and great customer service. I had my wedding dress cleaned here and they did a good job. The hem was very dirty and they were able to get the stains out and clean enough for resale. We also drop our dry-​cleaning off here regularly. The staff are very friendly and always greet us with smiles.

Bön Ton is pretty good. My most recent experience with them kind of soured my overall opinion though. I dropped off my wedding dress to be clean. After being put through the paces of an outdoor wedding, it had accumulated dirt along the hemline. The woman running the place took a look and said she’d do her best to get the dirt out.
Fast-​forward a week later, I went to pick up my dress and the woman said she had to wash it to get the dirt out. My formally matte silk dress had a bright sheen to it from laundering. It doesn’t look terrible, but it doesn’t look like the dress I got married in either. Most of the dirt stains were removed, but I found a couple of leaves and brambles still attached to the hem.
During the same trip I picked up my winter coat. It had a wooden charm attached to the zipper pull (a gift from my dad) that, in retrospect, I probably should have removed before dropping the coat off. The charm was destroyed during dry cleaning, and I didn’t notice until I got home. They could have mentioned that to me when I picked it up.
They’ve done a fine job with my other garments in the past, but I just don’t trust them now. And I definitely wouldn’t recommend them for items that require more thoughtful care.

Wow… a truly AWESOME job!
I have taken clothes to dry cleaners before and had those cleaners fail to remove very obvious stains (which I was later able to remove myself with a little water and a clean cloth… thanks for nothing, guys!)…so when I brought two silk blouses, a delicate wool sweater, and a rayon dress in to Bön Ton Cleaners and found myself super-​efficiently shooed back out the door before I could even point out where the subtle stains were, I felt sure I would pick up my clothes a week later with the stains still present.
Not the case! I just thoroughly inspected all four items, and they are flawlessly cleaned. The tiny red-​sauce pinprick stains on my light blue silk blouse are gone as if they were never there! The subtle sweat marks in the armpits of the other silk blouse have vanished! The weird crustiness stuck to my super-​delicate pointelle wool sweater is gone! My rayon dress looks as perfect and unstretched as the day I first bought it.
Truly the best job I’ve ever seen a cleaner do. I am a Bön Ton Cleaners customer for life!

I brought my wedding dress here to have it cleaned and prepped for storage after our wedding. The prices were reasonable and there is a new customer discount (10%). They were friendly and clear about how long it would take and also took care to mention that grass stains were very difficult and they might not be able to get rid of them completely, which was fine with me. They said it would be ready in a week, after making sure that the wedding was over and everything and there was no rush for it (which I found cute).
A few days later, they called back and left a message, saying that they would need another week to finish up with the dress. That was fine with me, and I appreciated the notice. When we went in, I saw my dress hanging, but it wasn’t boxed up yet… so we were told to come back that afternoon. We weren’t able to do that, and shamefully, weren’t able to make it back for another week (! I know. In my defense, it was the holiday weekend) but when we did, everything was boxed up nicely. They showed me the dress, said it came out nicely (and it did! Even the grass stains) and sent me on my merry way — without scolding me for neglect, ha. Recommended.

Bön Ton Cleaners: A-​OK. The prices were pretty standard, I felt, and the cleaning was decent. The turnaround was maybe 4 – 5 days, which felt a little long for me, but maybe I’m spoiled.
I’ll probably go back, but I wouldn’t say I was wowed by them or anything.

I’ve come to realize that, as my fashion sense improves, so does the bill — and not just because of pricier clothing, but also because of the increased cost of caring for them. Dry cleaning is a new concept for me, and after some pricing comparisons, I settled on Bön Ton for all of my dry cleaning needs.
The folks here are quick and cheap — even more so with the 5% Unilocal discount. Having a jacket dry cleaned ran me about $ 9, while having a full suit cleaned ran me about $ 14, both of which were much lower than the quotes I got for a handful of other shops in the area.
