Boeing IMAX Theater

I don’t have much to say except that for ~ $ 15.50, you get a great IMAX experience. Certainly, not every movie needs to be seen in IMAX but there are a special few where it really makes that difference to see it on this beautiful 6 story screen. Star Wars, for one, was a really special experience to see here.
The seats are comfortable, the amenities are good, and the price is great (I mean, especially considering it’s about the same price as IMAX in a regular theatre). I’ll definitely be coming back to see movies here more often.

My wife and I live in Seattle but there are things it’s just hard to get around to, that is until we won a pair of City Passes in a raffle that included tickets to the Pacific Science Center and a short IMAX movie of our choice (in our case it was about Humpback Whales). I have to say, even as a fan of 3D movies I was blown away. There was no headache, no strange color auras or difficulty fitting the high end glasses over my eyeglasses. It was so beautiful it was awe inspiring and we will definitely be back.

My family and I love coming here to watch movies; it’s always our go to spot to watch movies during the holidays. They have a really good $ 5 per ticket deal with the Prime card so coming here instead of a normal movie theater is a no brainer. It gets pretty crowded during the holidays so I would recommend getting there about 20 – 30 mins before the show. On a normal weekday or weekend you should be able to find a seat easily. They always have the top box office movies, never had a bad experience. Also much better than the older Paccar theater right next to it!

I saw SPECTRE here, and they must have turned the volume up past 11. The previews and the movie were to the point of being uncomfortable. Perhaps they wanted to show off their new sound system but giving the audience tinnitus is not a good way to do it. Won’t be back.

We came here to see the Martian in IMAX 3D. They have nice, new super plush seats! And the glasses they give you for the 3-​D experience are so much better than the ones you get at a regular IMAX theater. Don’t be thrown off by the age of the exterior… the exhibits in the waiting area also seem dated, but the actual theater itself is very up-​to-​date and in my eyes, new condition. Only problem was the seats didn’t recline, but that didn’t bother us. Great IMAX theater experience.

It was a nice friday evening and we spontaneously had in mind to go out to see a film. A short web search and a short walk later we purchased our tickets, drinks (not too pricey) and got in. Seats are free to choose which was nice, the seats are indeed pretty comfortable with enough space and the screen is just so huuuuge but at the same time sharp and bright. Also the sound is impressive.
I could imagine to become a regular guest here! :)

If I could choose two theaters to pick to watch all my movies would be this place (and Cinerama). The theater is big, and stadium seating. the sound quality is amazing and just been remodeled in the past year. Ticket prices are a lot more reasonable than a normal theater so why not come here? Concessions are a little lacking but I’ve never had issues bringing outside food (I’ve seen someone bring in a mod pizza from the armory) as well as starbucks drinks. Everyone working here is nice.

Yeah, the IMAX screen is really impressive. I suppose it sounds weird but my favorite thing about it is that they light it properly, especially good for 3D movies. Anyway, super comfy seats with loads of room to move. Excellent sound quality, too.

Nice theater, but the seats are uncomfortable. Small and rigid, and do not recline. Arm rests are terribly uncomfortable as well. Other than that, a nice experience.

Love it! The seats are so comfortable! The sound is great and the screen is huge! Next time we shall seat in the very top back for better experience, seating at front like we would at a normal theater just got me dizzy. Lol
Definetally not gonna be the same visiting a regular theater, I totally recommend this!

It’s an IMAX Theatre so if you been to one you get the idea with the steep stadium seating and 50 foot screen and 3D glasses.
The negative for this is it is attached to Pacific Science Center which is KID CENTRAL!!! If you don’t have kids or if lots of kids around are bothersome you may want to skip this… or trip over kids that you aren’t used to having underfoot.
We watched the Shark feature… which, while they don’t fascinate me, IMAX does and I love watching films in IMAX.

If you’re going to see a movie – why not see it on an 11 story IMAX screen?

Bought tickets online for an extra 250 pennies and quickly bypassed the ticket line only to find a bunch of Trekkies were already camped out waiting to see the 9pm screening – regardless there’s plenty of cool things to do whilst waiting.
No previews at this theatre so you really must arrive early – there’s also an OZ like (#wizardof) announcement at the beginning of the screening letting you know a few key differences of the iMax experience.
Came here several times as a young buck and at the recommendation of a family member came here to see Interstellar which was probably a top ten movie of the last decade for me (which brings up a compelling point about whether my feelings for the movie are causing me to see this theatre through rose colored lens’).
Over Analysis leads to paralysis however so gonna stick to my 5 star guns.

While the Seattle Pacific Science Center may not be worthy of the $ 20 admission, the Boeing IMAX theatre is worth it! I second other reviews that suggest this is the only way to see box-​office thrillers such as Jaws, and Frozen! 3D movies are amazing on the big screen, and the images really do seem to pop-​out at you, as though one can touch them. I recently saw the Great White Shark movie, which was wonderful on the IMAX screen.
A modern facility, with popcorn and other accoutrements. Clean, comfy, and spacious theater. I’d like to go more often.

Went to see Interstellar on ¹¹⁄₂₂ 9:45PM showing. Have been here before about 3 – 4 years ago to see 3D movie — can’t remember which movie I saw but was impressed with the quality of the theatre.
This time it seemed just average and nothing special. Didn’t get that special effect or special movie experience.
Color seemed off and the two stains or defects on the huge screen was very disappointing and distracting. Seats are getting old and again the sharpness of the screen wasn’t there. Maybe got spoiled watching movies on my LED.
Arrived 1hour early parked my car paid$ 6.00 for parking got to the Will Call to get my tickets no lines got my tickets paid already online $ 49.00 for three tickets.
About 60+ people in line already waited until about 9:30PM got in, got the seats in the 5^th row from the back.
Would recommend to watch 3D but as of the IMAX not sure. Maybe will give it another try

Movie: Transformers
Even though we saw it in IMAX, we saw it the second older theatre. I was hoping it would have been in the nicer one, but the secondary theatre was okay. Huge fan of this movie theatre, so I usually see all the big blockbusters here. I would recommend getting here early as there always is a line and usually some people save spots for others. May want to consider the movie pass, because it’ll save you money in the long-​run.

Warning to anyone wanting to see a movie at the Pacific Science Center’s humongous 6 story tall IMAX screen: double check the information on your ticket and make sure it’s not showing in the «PACCAR IMAX Theater».
This is a new screen they had created for all wide release movies (ex: Amazing Spider-​Man 2) which has a MUCH smaller screen, less dynamic sound, and incredibly cramped and uncomfortable seating. I am 5’4 and i had NO leg room, the theater is worse than being on an airplane as far as space and comfort goes.
Also, when you go to politely ask for a refund from the box office before the movie starts given these issues, be prepared to be met with the smug/​condescending attitude of their staff. We were basically told we were idiots for not knowing the true greatness f the PACCAR IMAX, we were interrupted after Taylor asked us questions about why we wanted the refund, then he proceeded to act like we were idiots and jerks for wanting our refund. Sorry we offended YOUR movie theater Taylor. We didn’t know that you had personally built the place with your own hands.
Bottom Line here: Save $ 10 in parking and just visit the IMAX in either Lincoln Square Cinema in Bellevue, or the new theater in the Issaquah Highlands. I’m pretty sure their screens are actually larger than the PACCAR one and the seating is waaaaaaaaaay better.

Cheaper than your «regular» IMAX 3D… why pay for that when Pacific Science Center is CHEAPER and non-​profit AND a REAL IMAX!!!
I must say, to watch one of those blockbuster movies, buy the tickets online and get in line about an hour to two early. Besides waiting in the freezing cold outside and the hot hot heated space once inside, it isn’t too bad. (Oh, what movie-​goers do to get great seats!)
If you are in a group and waiting to get inside the theater, have someone go buy the bucket-​o-​popcorn and loads lots of free seasoning on it! It is so fresh and so good! Although it still isn’t the cheapest snack place, it is still cheaper in comparison to other theaters that charge you an arm and a leg for a kids size!
The only complain I actually have is that the seats are not the most comfortable thing. and if you actually like previews. you are SOL. This is a non-​profit theater so there are no previews. (yay or nay?)
Overall, I feel like this is the ONLY WAY to watch a great movie! From the surround sound to the amazingly gigantic screen. This place is definitely a winner!!!

Who doesn’t like the big screen, and when I say big, I know of none larger than the IMAX at Pacific Science. Once you get over the way too loud sound system, the experience is magical. Warning, some films will make you nauseous if you are prone to motion sickness – I know of no cure for that short of closing your eyes during the more active scenes.
The lines moved fast, the place was clean, and there were plenty of empty seats. I am guessing the Hunger Games are bringing in a lot of youngsters, so beware of that. :0)

When I was a member of Pacific Science Center, I got passes to see regular features. In addition to those, I’ve been to a number of movies here as well. Ordering online is ridiculously easy!
I love the location at Seattle Center since I can walk around, grab a bite to eat, or sit on a bench while I wait for my movie time. My favorite part of going to this IMAX is walking down around the curvy hallway. My least favorite part of going to this IMAX is waiting in the lines. They have definitely perfected the art of selling every single ticket available. I know when I go here that I’ll be jammed next to someone and may not get to sit with whoever I came with. That’s great for them; not so great for me, Miss-​I-​Have-​Personal-​Space-​Issues.
Overall, I’ve seen some great new releases here over the years (the Matrix stands out in my mind) and still go from time to time. In terms of the audio and visual experience — top notch!

I don’t watch IMAX movies very often because 1) I don’t feel like spending $$ and 2) I can’t tell between IMAX and regular movies.
Well… I guess this time it changed my view.
I came here with friends to watch gravity. I had no idea what the movie was about. However, the sound effects and 3D really felt vivid!!! I was screaming when there was a dead body flowing toward me!
Tickets are available online and can be picked up by the gate. You might get lucky finding a parking. But, I am taking a bus :-)
