A few tips about having a wedding dress altered. Most dresses take between 4 and 6 fittings. Bring your foundation garments to each fitting. Have the bodice, waist and hips altered first. The hem comes next with your shoes. If you want a bustle, have that measured after the hem.
Beverly Hunnicutt Studio is a full service tailoring studio. Mens’ and Womens’ alterations, Custom Clothing Design and all Wedding alterations. We offer free consultations on wedding dress alterations.
History
Established in 1982.
When I was in my 20’s I apprenticed with a Master German Tailor for two years. She and her husband had a beautiful storefront, but did all of their sewing in the back room. I made up my mind to have a storefront where I could see daylight and enjoy the passers by. I love the idea of being in a neighborhood and many of my customers are my neighbors and friends.

Beverly Hunnicutt Studio has been on Crockett Street for 32 years. After apprenticing with a Master Tailor in Oregon, Beverly moved to Seattle and started her storefront. She is a specialty Tailor working with challenging fabrics and re-cutting garments from wedding dressed to skirts and pants. She also makes special order custom clothing. She has a fondness for Japanese Textiles and sells authentic Japanese garments as well as scarves and gift items made from kimono silks. She also produces a line of recycled cashmere including caps and finger-less gloves. Her twice loved clothing changes by the season and includes men’s and women’s cashmere sweaters, wool, linen and cotton skirts, and any other high quality garments she finds.
