Specialties

I am an experienced dog walker and pet-​sitter with very reasonable rates and excellent references. I do NOT breed-discriminate…bring on the bullies! We love all pets, from puppies to seniors, angels to leash gremlins.

We pride ourselves on distraction free walks (no cell phone use, smoking, or large group walks) and we will send you a confirmation video or photo update by text after every walk!

I focus primarily on the following areas of Seattle: Fremont, Greenlake, Northgate, Bitter Lake, and parts of Shoreline.

**Special Discount** — All seniors, law enforcement, military personnel, and owners or foster parents of rescue or shelter animals receive an additional 10% discount on all service rates listed below.

Rates for dog-​walking: $ 17 per 30-​minute walk if you book for 3 or more days per week. Otherwise the rate is $ 20 per walk.

Rates for dog-​and-​cat sitting: For NON-​OVERNIGHT stays, $ 50/​day includes: three 15 – 30 minute walks, all feeding/​watering and administering of medications (if needed), mail and newspaper brought inside, lights turned on at night, signing for packages, securing of property, etc.

Rates for OVERNIGHT stays (generally 10 – 14 hours, beginning and ending at the time of your choosing): $ 60 (this includes also includes all non-​overnight services listed above)

Best Walks by Farr was conceived in Seattle, WA, born in New Orleans in January 2011, and after years of work with wonderful pets and people in the Crescent City we have returned home to Seattle.

I’ve known Skye for several years and Cat for the last two-​ish. I don’t know anyone anywhere more engaged with and dedicated to her work that Skye Farr, and adding Cat to the family and business ensures the flexibility and back up that make you know 100% that all is well when you leave your furr babies in their care. Truly the Dog Whisperers and Ticklers and Calmer Downers and Teachers! Give them a call and see how fast your pup’s tail wags soon!

I don’t know why it’s taken me so long to write this, but Skye and Cat are just the best. I started graduate school this year and was worried about leaving my dog home alone for longer stretches than he was used to, but Skye and Cat have eased my worries. They treat my dog with the same care they treat their own, and with all the love and compassion you’d hope someone would give your dog when you’re not around. The fact that they only do 1:1 walks is important to me (other dogs may enjoy group walks/​runs, but not mine, so this is ideal).
They’re also super responsive, flexible, and prepared to offer training tips if you ask. I’m in Fremont, but if you’re anywhere in North-​ish Seattle, Best Walks by Farr will make excellent care for your dog super easy. Oh! and their rates are very reasonable.

If you are in need of someone to watch your animals while out of town, these are your ladies! I was reluctant to subject anyone to our «challenged» dog who barks at anything friend or foe, and has literally pulled me (a large woman) over when we’re walking. Luckily, Skye and Cat know just how to handle such shenanigans. They send pictures and videos of our spoiled animals when we’re away and take care of other little duties, like bringing in the mail and administering medications. I also appreciate their availability during a major holiday, a time they clearly could have spent in other ways. Thank you, ladies. Your love for animals is quite apparent.

Skye is phenomenal, plain and simple, and her professionalism and passion for what she does, coupled with the reliability and affordability, makes Best Walks by Farr a huge asset to the city and our family.
We have four dogs. Four big, strong, energetic dogs, and she is awesome with them. Our oldest, a dog-​nervous pit rescue, has some health issues and Skye is always incredibly gentle and attentive to her needs, and the younger leviathans, Skye wears out… which is really saying something. She’s also been really helpful in getting our new foster people-​acclimated, trained, and adoption-​ready, and for that, I and handsome Hubig, said foster, will be forever grateful.
I hate that Skye, who has since become a really awesome friend (and our dogs’ favourite person), is leaving NOLA for Washington, but there’s no doubt that Seattle’s pets are gaining one hell of a human.

Skye watched our Boston Terrier and Chihuahua for about 10 days and did a terrific job. Her willingness to leave the dogs at our house and come a couple times a day to walk and feed them was perfect as I’m sure they were happier staying in a familiar environment. She took great care of them and won over our Boston who can be a little squirrely with new people! Highly recommended whether you need someone on a regular/​daily basis or just occasionally when you’re headed out of town.

Skye Farr is without a doubt the best in the business. Her motto, «Best Walks By Farr» is so appropriate. She has done wonders with our dog, who desperately needed socializing and a little training to curb her anxieties. I can’t say enough about her and her skills. She could easily be called a «dog whisperer». The difference in our dog in just a few weeks was remarkable to say the least. And she doesn’t charge the earth for her services. ! Our dog is a rambunctious labrador retriever who was fortunate enough to have Skye as his handler, and so were we. !

I am torn if I should even write a review because I want to keep this hidden gem all to myself – but that wouldn’t be fair to anyone, so here I go…
Skye is amazing to deal with and is even more amazing with my Shih Tzu, Miley! She works with both big and small dogs and they all love her. Skye is very reasonably priced and the best part is she is very flexible when it comes to scheduling. I can send her a text in the morning if I got tied up with work and she will walk Miley that afternoon. She has truly saved me a few times.
Skye has sat for Miley overnight, in my home. The cost is comparable to boarding in a kennel, except Miley stays in her own home where she is comfortable and for roughly the same price if she were to stay in a cage all day. Miley used to get upset when she saw me pack a suitcase, but now she knows that Skye is coming to stay with her and she is a happy camper.
When I moved to the city, having someone to help with my dog was my biggest concern, but finding Skye was a blessing. Both Miley and I are happier because of her!

Skye is the BEST with doggies. She uses positive reinforcement to create great habits, truly loves and enjoys spending time with her doggie clients, and is eminently trustworthy. Her rates are unbeatable for the love and energy she puts into her work, and you won’t have to worry about your sweet pup or kitty being lonesome and doing the pee-​pee dance all day while you’re gone.

Skye kept my dogs for a week while I was on vacation they likes her immediately. When I returned they were better trained than when I left. I would not leave my babies with anyone else.
