Best Garage Door Repair

I needed my garage door be fixed right away since I don’t have time to deal with it at the other time. I called this company just by searching on line, read the one review and was hoping they might be able to get some one at my place soon. Overall experience was OK but weird. Maybe because I had a big well known company fixed my garage door before.
They charge service call fee which is $ 29.00 ((i never understand this charge, range from 29 – 50, if the technician came and we didn’t agree on the estimate and didn’t hire to preform the job, then i agreed that the fee should be charged; but if both parties agree on the project and pay for the job why still charge the «service call fee»? the technician will not be able to do the job, if they don’t come to the job site. Well, is the industry weird added on charge. My advice is if you don’t need the work to be done the same day, there are companies which are not charging the service call fee.))
They got a technician out to my place in 20 minutes (this I giving 5+stars), however, i was a little skeptical because the old white minivan has no sign, no logo and the technician has no uniform, i thought OMG what did I do to call a company that I know nothing about it. The technician was friendly, he looked the problem and gave me a verbal estimate (which their website say they always provide a written estimate), i was kind shock it will cost that much and took a few second to process that if i should let him do it. He looked at me and said do you want me to start working on it? (not too patient way). I thought fine, since i have no time, i should just get it fixed. He started working on it and it end up took him very long time to get the system adjusted, I need to say he is a good technician, he wanted to make sure the system is running right and he was trying his best to fix the bad job someone has done on my garage operation system. He could just hook the cable on and leave, but he tried again and again to readjust the problem (I don’t know what was him trying to achieve, but i could tell he was trying very hard to get it right). He took more than a hour on my garage door, and I truly appreciated that he tried to take care of the problem and made sure the garage door is function correctly. HE IS A GOOD RESPONSIBLE technician!!! i must gave him a very high credit on the job he preformed. Other than that i have a few points here that hope can help who is reading the review understand more on the company and service
1. I figured the company doesn’t have their own technician crew, they must have some contracted companies work with them for on call. My credit card charge is from a 24 hours Key company. The hand written receipt has no company name at all, no stamp or anything. By looked through their website, you will think it is a pretty well established company, but I think they might be just a middle man to hook the service between the technicians and the customer.
2. The technician I got is a very responsible good technician, but he doesn’t have people skill, or when he couldn’t get my garage system adjusted quickly, he is very frustrated, and became inpatient. He didn’t tell me what he was doing and all the sudden went out and get in his van and making phone call for a long time, I had no idea what he was doing. It would be nice that he let you know what was going on and what he was doing. During his work he got many phone calls that made me worried his safety since he was on the ladder. (PS, i totally understand that he had to get the call, because that might be the next possible line up job that he need to go, but they should have a better system to do that, so the technician doesn’t need to try to get the call while they are on ladder. As I mentioned that i truly appreciated the great work he did, but since he unexpected to spent more time on my job, he lost his patient. I didn’t wanted to ask any question after he finished the job. After he fixed the problem, he just waled into his van without explain what he did, and i just assumed it is done, and wanted to pay and let him leave. At least the door is functioning now.
3. I have a detached garage and he pulled the garage door closed without asked me if i want to step out, i was a little bit shocked, but i thought i have cell phone with me, it should be OK, so i didn’t ask to go out (also i thought it should not take took long). I was able to go out when he unexpected pulled the garage door open and went sit in his van without tell me what was going on… but i went out and stayed outside. He is a good technician, just doesn’t have good people’s skill. That might lead to a customer service error…
4. The Best Garage Door did a follow up call within a half hour after the job was done, but i was not there to get the call, they left the message. So at least they are trying to show that they care about the service.
The thing is my garage door is fixed!
