Belltown Barber

Dave is a real barber. That means he cuts your hair the way you want it. It also means it’s good for six weeks. No aroma therapy or tatoo-​piercing posers. It’s a place where men get their hair cut. Thanks Dave.

Sundays and Mondays when Dave’s not in the shop, Coco is! Stop in to see her for a great cut and she also does color. She’ll make you look fantastic and you’ll keep going back!

This is not just a place for men — Coco is amazing and can do men’s or women’s cuts. She is very friendly and professional and knows what she is doing — I have had her cut and color my hair on multiple occasions and have always walked away feeling great about my hair. If you know what you want she is great at doing that, but if you are indecisive like me she has the experience to make suggestions that will work for you. Can’t say enough good things about her!

So close to home, relatively inexpensive and an experienced barber. I would definitely get my regular haircuts there (I always get a flat top and that takes a little expertise)!

This place is a one barber and one seat. I came in on a walk in after searching for barber shops around the area. This was the only place that was open.
Anyways, I go to the barber shop, it’s this older guy who is extremely nice and likes talking. He’s been a barber for 30 some years and loves it. I came in for a skin fade. He did a pretty good job. He gave me a conservative hair cut that turned out good. He spent a lot of time doing my hair and I felt good after.

Wanted to charge me $ 20 for a 10 min buzz cut with no rinse or attempt to remove any of the hair left on my head after the cut. The cushion for the seats in the waiting area were totally worn out so the metal bars under them press into your legs. The environment was dirty and cluttered.

Dave has cut my hair probably a dozen times. He’s really nice, skilled, and friendly. Haircut is around $ 20 which is fair enough for me.

I live close to Rudy’s, but I’ve been looking for a better place for a while. Finally found it today. Dave is a great guy, and he’s been running this business for 20 years. He’s had regular customers for so long that now he’s cutting some of their grandkids’ hair. A men’s haircut is $ 20, and he has a tablet with Square for credit cards. I’ll be going back for as long as I live here.

I went here for the first time Friday. I don’t have to look at me, so I tend to get pretty shaggy before it bugs me enough to get a haircut. Dave did an excellent job. When I got home, the SO said she really liked my haircut. She said, ‘Go back to that guy! Make him your regular barber!’
I’ll take her advice.

Damn good barber!
I just moved to Seattle and I hate finding a good barber. Dave definitely does a great job and he’s reasonably priced. Can’t ask for more than that, can you?

This is an awesome barbershop for men. Clean professional cut and the barber is a cool guy! I got my first haircut there today after a friend recommended it, and I’m happy about how it turned out. Will send more friends to Belltown Barber soon!
Also, $ 19 is definitely cheaper than Rudy’s or the other barbershops in this area.

Dave has been cutting my hair for over 10 years. I found him through a friend that lived in the apartments above at one time. Working downtown it’s very convenient to walk over to his shop and get a cut. You can call ahead of time and make an appointment, or simply walk-​in and wait in line.
It still to this day surprises me how much Dave remembers from conversations with each of his customers. He will ask about stuff we discussed months prior. This really is the lost art of a personable, and easy going town barber. I hope he never retires!
TIP: It’s always good to call ahead. Dave sometimes takes off early or maybe out sick. However he’s always very good about recording the message on his voicemail to let you know he’s not there currently. He is open normal barber shop hours, so closed on Sunday and Monday. Typical open hours I’ve seen are 10AM — 5PM.

When I moved to the Belltown area in Seattle from New York City, I had spend about 3 months in and out of barber shops looking for the right one. I visited them all, from the small businesses to the chains like Rudy and Great Clips. I came into Belltown Barber in June and haven’t gone anywhere since. It’s a one barber/​one-​chair operation and it’s awesome. Not only is dave experienced and skilled, he’s extremely friendly and personable. It’s nice to be able to sit down and pick up the conversation where it left off from the previous haircut. The price for a standard male haircut is $ 19, which is cheaper than other small businesses as well as Rudy’s, and maybe a couple dollars more expensive than Great Clips. But I think having a consistent barber who is great at his job and treats each customers as a friend is worth the extra 2 bucks.

Dave is there Tuesday through Saturday, and always friendly. Catering mostly to men, this is a quick and reliable place for good haircuts. If you’re looking for anything more — wash, coloring, manicure, whatever — you’re probably looking for a salon. This is just a barber shop — but a great one!
He can get busy (MANY regulars), so I recommend calling ahead to make an appointment on weekdays. Saturdays are first-​come-​first-​served. While you’re waiting, grab a coffee next door or sit and chat with everyone else who discovered this hidden treasure of Seattle.

Surprising nobody else has reviewed such a good place. The owner is really good, paid attention to the details, and gave a really cut. Being new to the town, i was apprehensive, but I am glad I went ahead with this place. I guess the down thing is it aint open on Sunday and inaccessible on weekdays. All I saw were regulars, i ll be one too… :)

This place is not a full salon, so don’t go in there expecting it to be. It’s pretty small, but cozy, and the people there make you feel at home. When I was there it was the owner and a gal who had been working there for quite some time, I can’t remember their names but they were both very nice. She spent a decent amount of time making sure it was striaght… but thats pretty much the only thing I expect out of my haircuts honestly. I guess most of the people who come here are regulars, not people just walking by and dropping in. I’ve only been there once, but since I live closeby I will definately be stopping by this place for my regular cut.
