Bella Nails and Spa

A little on the pricey side, but SO worth it! The ladies there are so sweet and they do such an amazing job. I felt bad coming in an hour before they closed for a full set, pedicure, and eyebrow wax. But they made me feel so welcome. They were quick and did a beautiful job on my nails and eyebrows. And the foot massage with the hot stones was just wonderful.

One day later, my nails are chipped and look terrible. Cuticles are a mess. She kept correcting the sides with her nails so the edges are peeling, wavy and awful. Plus paint all over where paint shouldn’t be.
It’s a nice salon with better colors than other places but this is the worst mani pedi I’ve had in a while. Go somewhere else! Where they care and know what they are doing! Really, really bad — I have to get it re done.

Not only do they do an excellent job on my nails, they do spectacular worn on my 2 ½ year old as well! Nina got her first pedicure today from Kathy, who has known Nina since the day she was born. Thanks for making Nina’s first pedicure experience as wonderful as every manicure experience here.

This place is my go-​to for mani’s and pedis in Seattle! I always get a gel mani and they do a wonderful job. The staff is super friendly and I always feel welcome when I walk in! I also love how they give you a neck massage with the shellac manicure. I will always love Bella’s!

Love the speediness and service of this salon! Just moved to Ballard and finally found a nail salon that’s a short walk from my place and with a huge selection of colors! Great head massages and stone massages! Excited to be a regular here moving forward!

My mother and I went in on a whim on our girl’s day out. They saw us right away and we both got full spa mani-​pedis. They were awesome! Paraffin, scented water, exfoliation, massage chairs, hot stones, relaxing foot, calf, forearm and hand massages as well as shoulder and forehead massages. So relaxing. They serve wine for $ 5 a glass but I didn’t have any so I can not comment on the quality. Next time, because I will be back.

I was in heaven! I got a pedicure and a shellac manicure and per usual they girls worked on me at the same time. I was with Jen and Kathy and they’re work was wonderful. Jen gave my nails a beautiful shape and a nice strong massage (arm, neck and face) Kathy was gentle with my feet. I had just has a (painful) leg wax and she was very delicate with the exfoliating and didn’t even make me jump once (we all know how ticklish the bottoms of our feet get. Both girls communicated greatly and I was delighted to be able to have a conversation with them
Definitely will be coming back

These ladies (and gentleman) are amazing! Every. Single. Time. From the customer service, clean facility, attention to detail, hot stone massages and face and back massages (included with your mani/​pedi by the way!) to their always smiling faces and greeting of «welcome honey!». They are all too sweet for words.
I’ve been going to this place for years and my only complaint is that they’ve become so busy that sometimes I have to wait a bit. Totally worth the wait. You won’t find a better place in town. There is a reason I travel all the way from the central district to Ballard once every couple of months. Keep it up Bella nail salon team. Thank you!

Really disappointed in my most recent visit. I have been coming here for a year and will probably never be back. I arrived at 3:15 on a Thursday afternoon and did not leave until 5pm. I always come here for a shellac manicure and a regular pedicure. The technician today for my pedicure was stellar, but manicure, that technician was very bad. It took over an hour for her to do a manicure that normally takes 30 minutes max. She kept cutting my hand and I asked her to please be careful because we have our engagement photo shoot tomorrow and I don’t want my hands all dinged up but now they will be. Maybe she was new but she really needs to get manicures down before she works on the public

I usually don’t like leaving negative reviews but my nails are really bugging me since going to Bella’s.
Bella’s is your average nail salon. I stopped in while waiting for my husband down the street. I got there at 6:40 and they close at 7:30 pm on Saturdays. They had plenty of time but they rushed & I think my nails look awful. You can tell it was a rushed job. I also wanted a Valentine day design, I showed a picture from Pinterest & it looks nothing like it, it looks like a kid drew on my nail with a marker. Not to mention the reds do not match — I got red with a white accent nail & red heart. The nail color & heart color do not match. I asked for help matching the colors but apparently that request went unanswered & they just ended up doing what they wanted.
It looks nice & they’re fairly friendly but I probably won’t be coming back. I know I just stopped in on a whim but I can get a better shellac manicure somewhere else.
Update: now after 3 days my nails are chipping! Usually shellac last 3+ weeks for me. SOO disappointed.

I have been coming to Bella’s since I moved to Ballard which was right about when they opened this shop. I have been totally happy with my pedi’s and shellac mani’s. My husband comes here for pedi’s and haircuts and my Mom for her mani/pedi’s too. But yesterday for the first time — I gathered my courage and let Tuan cut my hair! That is big for me and not a decision I make lightly. But I have to admit it was rather spur of the moment, I needed a haircut, had no appointment so I did it. And I’m very happy with the job he did! He is a perfectionist, takes time, listens to what you say. And the price is better than what I was paying. So now one more thing that I happily take care of at Bella’s!!! (I might also add that Tuan used to cut the hair of my 85 year old father before he died last year and that helps endear Tuan to me).

After being a loyal customer for several years I’ve decided to stop going here for the following reasons:
— while many of their employees are friendly, there are just enough rude ones to deliver poor customer service
— the prices keep going up and yet the service is declining. They used to do an arm massage with hot stones and towel wrap.
— you still get somewhat of a shoulder massage but even that isn’t worth the trouble
There are plenty of other nail salons in Ballard, so I will be moving on.

The way they do their manicures is perplexing. Every nail salon I’ve been to follows the same formula.
Step 1: Remove polish and soak nails
Step 2: Cut nail, clip cuticles, clean up nail bed
Step 3: Massage, parrafin, etc
Step 4 Polish and dry.
From Brooklyn to Portland, this is what I expect when I walk into a salon. But here… things are a little different. They polish before the massage and they use oil and hot stones.
The stones I found unnecessary, and the oil left my arms and back greasy until I got a chance to wash it off once my nails dried. I was also worried while she was doing the massage (mostly arms with maybe 10 seconds devoted to palms) that my wet nails would be smudged.
The manicure was $ 20, which I found expensive for the services received. I can easily find a better $ 15 or even $ 12 mani for comparable if not better services.
On the plus side, the place is very clean and they bring the tools out in a sealed bag which they open in front of you. The woman who did my nails did a nice job filing and painting them, and they had a good selection of colors.
I popped in here while waiting on an oil change, but I dont think I will be back. I’m happy with my nails but I didnt like the way they did their manicure or the price.

I’ve had pedicures in a few different neighborhoods in Seattle, and while most were a-​ok to good, this one takes the cake. Bella stayed open late for our appointments, the staff were friendly and ready with tea or water, and the job they did on our feet was pretty impressive (and felt so good after).
Fun tip: if going as a couple, or as two close friends who want to gossip, there’s a semi-​private room in the back for pedis. Ask and they will be more than happy to reserve it for you for no extra charge.

Came in for the first time for a pedicure & shellac manicure. The salon is big & all the tools/​equipment looked very clean. The pedicure seemed a little rushed but she did a good job & I enjoyed the hot stone massage a lot. I think the prices are a little expensive ($ 30), I could get a cheaper pedicure elsewhere with the same quality.
I would come back here for a manicure solely b/​c they can do a beautiful chevron nail design with shellac. The lady seemed a little annoyed when I asked her for this though & it was $ 10 extra, total $ 45. I have definitely gotten cheaper shellac but not with a difficult design like this. I had a friend with me & they only charged her $ 20 for shellac. Not sure why mine was $ 25 more??? We had already left when I found this out so I didn’t go back to ask.
Overall the experience was slightly better than average. I think the staff could be friendlier & slow down a bit & the prices are on the expensive side but they did a really good job.

This is actually for my teenage daughter who came with her friends a few weekends ago. Basically, they cut her 3 times with the cuticle nippers. Uhh-​uhhh.
She had a $ 15 so-​so manicure, and 3 band-​aids covering them up. Gonna skip this place fo sho.

I was really looking forward to getting a manicure and a pedicure at this cute nail salon down the street from my apartment.
Everything was going great until the lady started scrubbing the side of my foot with a coarse sponge. She is only supposed to scrub the bottom of your foot to wear down the calluses — but she started scrubbing the side of my foot. I told her twice that it hurt and she kept rubbing away. Finally I pulled away because I knew she had broke skin. (I posted a photo to show the scab that formed the following day.)
After she realizes what had happened, she tries to tell me to put my open wound back into the dirty water. Then proceeds to try and use an exfoliating scrub all over my foot and on my cut. At this point — I pull my foot away.
After she continued to scrub the side of my foot (you’ll clearly see in the photo that she was NOT scrubbing where calluses form) She later claimed she did not know I had such «thin skin». I don’t have thin skin — you were scrubbing the soft part of my foot.
Long story short — they threw on a bandaid and I sat terrified throughout the rest of my time there.
The lady who did my manicure was wonderful but I definitely won’t be back. I will also share that they only charged me for my manicure — so they were trying to make it right. I would just be careful.

On the plus side, even without a reservation we were able to get a nice spot in the back in a private room, and that felt very fortunate and luxurious to be ushered into a private space as a party of two. We were staying in Ballard, so not close to my favorite regular spots on the other side (NE) of Seattle.
The salon was clean: walls full of newer pedicure chairs, polish and crumbled (but current) magazines.
On the other hand, I was misquoted prices at the front desk, and by quite a bit. Later when checking out, when my service cost far more than what was quoted, I pointed it out and was told the employee I spoke to «didn’t know what he was talking about.» Okay.
Now, I could see clearly when they then showed me pricing on the wall that what I had been told earlier was wrong, but I do think the business has some responsibility when the employee on duty gives a customer clear pricing guidance that turns out to be erroneous, they have some responsibility to make it right.
Overall, prices are high comparatively with pedis at $ 30 and gel manicures at $ 40 so a little higher than average around town. The technician I had was trying to make my toes move into some impossible positions there (um, they actually don’t bend up, ouch!) I should point out the next salon I went to in San Francisco stopped me mid pedicure to point out they were concerned about the quality of the pedicure I had received (apparently Bella overdid the trimming on the sides of my toenail.) The new salon said they were very sorry, but someone at the last salon (Bella) had basically butchered the toenail, and damaged it and the only real remedy would be to let it grow out. Yikes.

I had a pedicure here this weekend when my preferred nail spa in Ballard (HOA) was too busy to get me in. The staff at Bella Nails and Spa were very nice. It is winter time and after a short wait, drying drops, and cuticle oil, I was able to slip my socks and boots back on and go about my day. My only complaint is that I can see that the polish is more or less opaque on certain nails than others in the light.
I would come back to Bella Nails and Spa in a pinch but it would not be my preferred nail salon.
