Just got my haircut from Elishya at the Pike location and it was the best haircut I’ve had in the past 3 years since I moved to Seattle! Even more than her amazing skills, I really appreciate that she took her time. I have really long and very thick hair, and it takes forever to cut and dry. My appointment took almost 2 hours just for a simple cut, and she took her time in blowing and styling my hair and doing some thinning and shaping afterward. She didn’t complain once that it was taking too long or do what every single other hair stylist has done: rush and leave me with a butchered version of what I came in for. The fact that Elishya is extremely personable and fun to chat with is just the icing on the cake. I will definitely be coming back!

Everything I experience here in BANG was amazing! I met Aubrie and she was friendly, nice and very professional when it comes to cutting hair. She really took her time and really provided great service. Everything from cutting my hair, shampoo to the blow drying and styling was perfect. And I thought the price was right for the amount of time that I was there and by making sure that I was satisfied and happy with my hair. What a great job. Keep it up! I’ll def.back.

Aubrie is awesome! Last night was my second time with her(first was a haircut, which I loved and was highly complimented on). She took my grown out red-violet boring bob and gave me a gorgeous copper red balayage with the perfect layered cut. I wasn’t exactly set on what I wanted when I came in, but I had done my research on balayage and knew I wanted that. I also knew my dyed red hair presented a bit of a challenge, but I wanted to transition away from monotone red. I figured copper would be the easiest on my hair, while still being fun for summer. So I basically gave her some ideas and let her run with them. I already knew her cuts were good from last time, but her color is amazing! As I told her, I feel like a grown up now! Also, she is super sweet, easy to talk to and doesn’t mind if you get quiet because you’re falling asleep in her chair. I’ll be back Aubrie!

First, let me say that I have always gone to very high-end places for my hair(not a ‘brag’, just simply saying that expensive is not always the best) BANG’s pricing is much lower. The reason I tried it out was that I wanted to try something a little more edgy with my hair– and most of the higher-end places aren’t very good at/into that sort of styling. A very good friend of mine(whom always has excellent hair) recommended BANG, so I went for it. I asked the receptionist who she would recommend for colouring and she immediately said«Manda» listing that she trained stylists in Redken(the products they colour with) as well as advising on various models for shoots and gala’s all around the country. My hair was, initially, ‘platinum’ blonde. This was a style/colour I had invested a lot of time/money into. My idea was to change it a bit and go silver/lavender. When Manda saw my hair she informed me of ubiquitous damage that had been done by my previous stylist, likely because they were too aggressive in processing and weren’t using proper care to maintain my hair structure. Also, she noted that there were a lot of inconsistencies in the overall colour(brassy tones, stark white, and some blondish), She suggested a few changes, most of which I didn’t understand, but she was so confident that I agreed. After 3 processes, my hair texture, not only felt healthier, it was exactly what I had envisioned! I was floored. I am so used to stylists hearing what I want, then, ultimately doing exactly what they wanted to do to begin with. She suggested a few things I could do to maintain the colour longer, and reinforce the health she had restored during my visit. I am very happy with every aspect of my experience at BANG with Manda.

The hairstylist was really nice to offer another appointment and I finally went in. This update is for the haircut. I liked the hairstylist– the business really cared about their customers. I probably just had my initial appointment on a bad day. I m glad I have this another try, definitely coming back.

I asked to cut my long hair up to shoulders and put layers. I didn’t realize what I got once I walked out of the salon. I have no layers at all and the haircut looks really bad… I would have to do another haircut tomorrow as it is embarrassing to appear to work like this. So disappointed.:(:(:(

My review is delayed as I was traumatized and just wanted to forget everything. This was my first time at BANG, and my last. I came in for a balayage around August 2015 from Kylie. It was the worst coloring experience in my life. My hair length was to my lower back, layers around the face and a previous balayage that I loved(hair type: Asian, dark, and coarse). Just wanted to get more coloring as my hair grew so there was a lot more dark on the top. Details of the balayage. She upsold me to get Olaplex, to keep my hair healthy. She started with saran wrap during the balayage, but ran out and asked the front desk to get some more. But in the interim, she was giving me a full foil hair coloring(and not a balayage anymore) until she got more. When she got more saran wrap, she went back to the initial method. After she was done with coloring all of my hair, 30 or so minutes passed and I told her that I felt like the bottom back of my head was getting really hot, and why is there steam coming out like my hair is on fire. She checked and said it’s fine, the steam that is coming out is normal. She did not know what she was doing! She over processed my hair, did not give me a balayage what so over, and I was in her chair for 5 – 6 hours, as she was trying to cover up her mistake. Never taking accountability of what she did wrong but just wanted me to come in the following day to see if she can re-deep condition my hair and tone it because it was orange, streaky, the middle back section of my hair was burnt off about 1 inch from the scalp(that she did not tell me, as I had to figure that out myself when I was running my hand through my hair to realize it was horrible), and that the salon was about to close soon(ie. she wanted to go home). I called BANG immediately when I got home(left a voicemail), took lots of pictures(will update review with photos) and called other salons to see if they can see me because I was not going to go out in public looking like that. Received a phone call the following day and she asked for details of what happened. I was offered a full refund after the fact that she couldn’t schedule me in until 2 – 3 weeks later, and had the audacity to ask if I want to see Kylie again and see if she can fix it because she had time! Yeah, that was not acceptable, so she said she would give me a full refund after I had to actually request to be refunded for this horrible experience.

Changing my review because my second experience was such a bust… Went in to cut my hair and bleach/dye the underside. I had gone in for a consultation a few days before and had been given a price estimate of about $ 175 and a time estimate of about 3 hours. The woman who gave that consultation was nice, helpful, and listened to me. Unfortunately, most of what she told me was wrong. A week later, I show up to my appointment, which was later in the day(4pm) because I work and am in school. I explain what I want to the stylist(which I had already explained when I made the appointment online, which she apparently had not cared to read). The hairdresser was rude, kept leaving to talk to her friends, barely paid my hair any attention. It took 5 hours in total, and by the end, I knew she was really pissed that I made her stay late – she was literally swearing to her co-workers. My hair cut was not what I had communicated to her. My hair color got messed up in the first round(another reason it took forever) and afterwards explained to me that the color she was putting in wouldn’t last as long as she had anticipated – it would be 4 – 6 weeks, not 6 – 8. In the end, I left thirsty(no offering water after sitting there for 4.5 hours?), frustrated, and out $ 300. Oh, and the color? It lasted 2 weeks. Not 4 – 6. Maybe it was just the stylist, but I’m not shelling out $ 70 for another cut unless I know it will be perfect – I will not be returning to Bang.

This place is amazing!!! Hair stylist at my old salon left so I decided to try this place out after seeing the amazing reviews from Unilocal.Got a balayage from Dusty and I could not be happier about it! I was absolutely ecstatic when I saw how my hair turned out in the mirror. My hair is very dark(almost black) and when I got a balayage the first time from my old stylist it was barely noticeable, which was fine because I know dark hair needs more than one session to lighten. I went into this appointment with the idea that I would still need another appointment to get the color I originally wanted, but Dusty was able to work his magic and get me the perfect color. I’m so happy and amazed with how well my hair turned out! I’ve already gotten so many compliments and all my friends are in shock with how light I was able to get. Thank you so much Dusty! Will definitely be back! :)

Dusty is AMAZING! He knew exactly what I wanted with minimal direction from me and it turned out even better than I expected because of the mediocre stylists I’m used to dealing with. Thank you again Dusty!

Got my hair cut by Elishya! She does an amazing job with long hair cuts. Especially since mine is wavy. Also I love their R+Co shampoos!!!

I had 24″ cut off, going from butt-length hair to a buzz-cut on the sides with longer patch on top. I’ve been loving that style, but at 45 wasn’t sure it would work on me, but Vanessa was reassuring and did a great job giving me the bold cut I wanted. Everyone seems to love it(though it took me about three days to figure out how she styled it!) I couldn’t be more pleased.(I’d post a picture, but I don’t see how to do that on Unilocal.)

Elishya is amazing. I first got my first-ever pixie cut in Brooklyn by another extremely talented stylist. Then, unfortch, I moved to Fort Lauderdale. I looked and looked … going to at least ten stylists over the course of a few years … and suffered through a lot of crappy cuts. I know when my cut is working(and when it’s not so great). With Elishya, I felt at ease almost immediately because I could tell she understood what I was asking for. The finished product is exactly what I wanted. Moves well. Looks great. Feels great. LOVE this cut. Too bad I’m headed to San Diego now … :(

To start, I was initially very hesitant to come in for my haircut. My previous stylist had bailed on me three times so I decided to come to BANG for a completely new experience. Two days before my appointment, my cut had to be rescheduled, but I get it, things happen. I was a tad irritated it was such a late notice, but the receptionist was very accommodating and was able to get me in the Friday of the same week. I sat down and Elishya came straight to me and shook my hand and we started the haircut early. She starts running her fingers through my hair and goes«So, tell me about your hair.» I told her I was a little nervous because I have short hair, and short hair is much more about shape. She listened very intently and nodded along to what I wanted and what I thought of it. She then suggested her own few ideas and she began to cut my hair dry. She noticed my hair began to curl as she sprayed it with water and told me she would cut it so it was easy to wear straightened and curled. I have never had a stylist accommodate my natural hair before, just my styled hair! With every new product or tool she would bring out, she would explain to me what she was going to do my hair and would make sure everything was okay with me before she did any snipping. I loved that! The whole process was explained step by step. I scheduled myself for a long haircut online. I loved that online scheduling was available, since I am not a big fan of calling places. Very easy to use. The terms were a little confusing as I originally thought«long haircut» and«short haircut» meant in terms of hair length, but during my scheduling I realized they mean the time allotted for the haircut. Elishya said I was totally a short haircut and at the end only charged me for a short haircut. Rad! Elishya was very easy to talk to, warm and welcoming, explained the whole process, and answered any question I had. I didn’t know what I was missing in a stylist until I had her! If you have short hair as a girl I would definitely recommend her! Thanks BANG! I will be back again and again and again.

I’ve been seeing Lisa for my hair for about two years now, and she’s fantastic! Great stylist with great ideas, and super friendly and talkative to boot. Definitely check her out! They’ve got an online scheduling system, which makes it super easy to make sure you get a haircut from your favorite stylist. They’ve apparently also started doing straight-razor shaves too, with the warm towels and everything, which is great. My neck has never felt so smooth!

I just moved from Seattle and I realize now, how spoiled I was at Bang! I always got my hair cut by Elishya. I decided to get a pixie last year and she was SO helpful and explained it every step of the way and was invested in making sure you got exactly what you wanted. I’ll miss going to Bang for my hair cuts!

First review ever on Unilocal so bear with me: Getting my hair cut has always been a bittersweet experience that often left me wanting. That is, until BANG and Alexander showed me there’s a better world out there. I have always wanted a short, quirky hairstyle. However, due to my round face(and the subsequent belief that short hair is not for the chubbies), I’ve always hesitated on how short I want to get my hair. This reservations(and indecisiveness) of mine often got me into trouble with past hair stylists, but for some reason(pretty sure due to Alexander’s absolutely professional and calming presence), this time I decided to let it go. And lo and behold: the asymmetric bob looks absolutely adorb and chic on my moon face, my hair is WAY shorter than I’m used to(which is wonderful), and I’ve been getting praises, and healthy dose of surprised faces all week(which I absolutely LOVE b/c my asian circle is one of those where you worship long herbal essence, glittering hair). Thanks BANG and Alexander for making haircut truly exciting again! === PS. I was supposed to have a coloring session last week, but I decided to hold off on that to enjoy this style for a little bit longer. When that time comes, I’ll post an updated review. Although I believe that experience will be wonderful too! :)

This review is mostly for Aubrie at the Pine location, but Bang as a whole is great! I went into the Pike location several months ago because I wanted to try a new stylist/salon. Aubrie, who usually works at the Pine location, was filling in that and gave me one of the best haircuts I’ve ever had. She knew exactly what I wanted, and styled it perfectly. I was thrilled. When the time came to get another haircut, Aubrie didn’t have anything open for nearly two weeks so I decided to try someone else at the Pike location. I was not happy. The stylist was fine, but the cut was not at all what I wanted. I took a couple days to decide if I really did hate it and I did. I called the Pine location two days later, told them I wasn’t happy, and they got me in to see Aubrie a week later. The wait was totally worth it. She fixed it up exactly how I wanted it. I was beyond pleased. And they didn’t charge me for the redo. Amazing customer service. Amazing stylist. Great vibe. Fun décor. I highly recommend both Aubrie and Bang!

I visited the Pike location back on August 31 for my first haircut in a while, and wasn’t all that impressed — I had two long«rat tails» left for my sideburns. Maybe it was the style, but I wasn’t all that impressed. I decided to give BANG another try because I saw everyone has written such great reviews. I saw Lisa had great reviews and she had an opening so I decided to give it a try! I LOVE the ambiance of the Pine location — so much more warm and inviting. Pike is too white & bright. Lisa is hilarious and also super warm and friendly. I LOVE my new ‘do and also the shampoo and conditioner she recommended. Will definitely be back.

Amazing. I get really sketched about getting my hair dyed but Tyson was awesome! Capital Hill has great places to get your hair done so my expectations were really high and I was still blown away by how great this place was. But be warned it is a bit pricey if you are getting your hair dyed.
