Pretty disappointed with this place. Got 2 cocktails in pineapples. They were good. But the waitress charged me twice on my debit card. My other friend paid cash and she decided to charge my card and probably keep the cash. After calling them multiple times and getting dismissed or told my call would returned I gave up. Be careful who you give your card to here or avoid.

The bartender at Deluxe recommended this place to us as we wanted to check out another bar. Both bartenders were nice but we were mostly served by the blonde guy. He was very friendly. We were one of the last to leave and they were great to us. Cute little dive bar that was perfect for our last drinks of the night. Most of the patrons were also friendly, although the two girls sitting outside as we left were quite rude… but what can you do. Either way this bar is a must visit in my book. Yay for dive bars!

This is one of my favorite bars to sit and have a drink with some friends. The cocktails are delicious. The tacos and fries are surprisingly good. The wait staff is always friendly. The booths and at atmosphere are comfy. What more could you ask for in a neighborhood bar?

Came here around 5:15 on Friday night. Dimly lit, retro feel with wood paneling. There’s a Happy hour menu with several $ 5 cocktails. One is the old fashioned and it was super strong. I got a rum and lime drink that was so tasty I had a second. $ 3 happy hour tacos were also delicious. We had a fish and a carnitas. Service was good. Perhaps my favorite thing about this place: the music! Great mix of late 60s and early 70s rock that I hadn’t heard in a while. I enjoyed seriously every song.

Excellent, friendly service. Cool, simple, yummy menu. Fun old-school Seattle vibe. Throwback music. Easy-peasy Broadway location. This joint ticks all my boxes(ooo that tickles!). I dig it. They do the dive right, here at the Bait Shop!

Dive bar with great food! Owned by the Linda’s Tavern folks, this place does dive bar up right. It’s casual, no TV’s, reasonable prices, and great food. Try the friend chicken salad! I don’t even like Ranch dressing, but I love this!

Great drinks! Tried the Lion’s tail(best of the old fashioned but without the calories) and the plum delicious(not enough plum taste, but refreshing and balanced with the ginger beer taste).

Bait Shop is the neighbourhood bar where my girlfriend and I always want to hang out. The servers and bartenders are the best. Food menu is not expansive, but I’ve tried almost every on it and it’s all great. Beer selection is small and good, and they switch it up every now and then with great beers always on tap. Their cocktails/frozen drinks are absolutely delicious — even the manliest of men can be seen enjoying a Painkiller or few here. And you get all this at incredible prices, with an ambiance that makes you want to smile the second you walk in.

It’s been almost 3 months since I came here and I still dream about the tacos and corn. We came during happy hour and the tacos were on par with the ones I get in Los Angeles and the street corn was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The divey atmosphere was fun– the bartender was hilarious and made us feel so comfortable. The happy hour deals for drinks are great and we left a little silly but completely satisfied. I can’t wait to be back in Seattle so I can order as much tacos and corn as my stomach can fit.

Great service, great specials, great atmosphere. Don’t go here if you suck. Happy hour open to 6pm, cheap food. Tall boy + shot for $ 3. Dive bar atmosphere, relaxed environment. Gets loud on weekend, but there is an outdoor seating area.

I’ve been here a handful of times and each time it was specifically for their frozen drinks. I must have a thing for frozen drinks I guess. If you do too, then check out the Bait Shop. The painkiller is tasty and I forget the other one I really liked but worth the visit. Atmosphere is fun and casual and the service has always been great. Deviled eggs are good too. Indoor and outdoor seating on Capitol Hill’s Broadway– great for warm nights or sunny afternoon people watching.

Deviled eggs and an old fashioned in a cool-vibed bar? Bait Shop definitely has a divey feel, and the best way to describe it would be that fun neighborhood bar that you go to when the rain is in play. Good music, comfortable seating, and a nice crowd. Happy hour deals hit the spot. Our table ordered the deviled eggs, chips and salsa + guac, chicken burger, and fish tacos. The fries are addicting! Their one slip was taking about 35 minutes for the tacos, where we’re pretty sure they forgot that the order was put in somehow. A great spot!

Came here last week to grab a drink for Happy Hour and they have have AC too!!! Having a cold one and sitting in some AC, ahhhhhh! We sat at the bar ordered a few drinks, mingled with the old timers sitting there, chatted with the bartender, looked at the menu and admired the décor. Its a cool looking spot, nautical, fisherman style dive bar looking place. I like it!!! I do like the t-shirts they have. Small Happy Hour menu with a few food items, a few cocktail specials, $ 1 off drafts etc. Prices are good, the food looks good and the vibe is good. Very casual, relaxing spot to grab a drink, didnt try their food this time. Good amount of tables in dining area, photo booth in the back next to the bathrooms, small patio out front, I can totally see myself coming back again.

Oh Bait Shop… where do I begin? If I have to start somewhere, it might as well be the phenomenal staff — from Kendra to Carlee to Jess to Robert to Lelah(sp?)…they perfectly combine friendliness, professionalism, and fun-loving attitude. The staff also is constantly thinking of ways to create a great atmosphere — for example, they go above and beyond hosting special events for April Fools’ and Pride weekend… among others… The food served is phenomenal, and at the same time unpretentious. My favorites are the fish tacos(whether fried or seared), deviled eggs, and chicken sandwich/salad. Additionally, for those that start earlier in the evening, Bait Shop has one of the best happy hours in town. If interested, I posted a picture of the latest menu — it really has something for everyone! Cocktails are also well balanced and priced fairly. My favorite menu drinks are the Old fashioned, the Scotsman, and the Zombie. If requested, the staff will also happily whip up some phenomenal concoctions off-menu as well! Anyhow, if you find yourself on the north end of Broadway unsure of where to go… definitely consider taking a step into Bait Shop. You won’t regret it!

Bait Shop is an odd one for me. I’m not quite sure how I feel about the smooth, manufactured dive bar nature – it feels too manicured to be organic. However, once I take a step back and stop trying to fit it into the«dive bar» category, I’m down to come here for a drink. Home to large booths that can pack in sizable groups of friends, friendly waitstaff, tiki drinks that go heavy on the rum, and an oddly enjoyable pineapple obsession, Bait Shop is a fun place to be. The vibe is relaxed, the prices are reasonable, the nautical theme is fun, and I hear the fish-based food offerings are delicious. However, the bar was extremely loud, and we could barely hear each other across the table – rather unfortunate since we were in the mood for a chill Saturday evening with good conversation. This ultimately resulted in us leaving earlier than we wanted to and heading elsewhere on Broadway where we could hear each other. Perhaps Bait Shop is a better option for a weeknight drink – I’ll have to come back to find out.

I stopped in during Happy Hour. And Ponied up to the bar. I ordered Devil Eggs. They were still training a new bartender. But for being new his skills were spot on. I went with a Pain Killer first round. Which was delicious. You cant beat good drinks with Happy Hour prices. Second round I ordered something that came with a Giraffe on the rim of my glass lol. Still delicious. The vibe of this place is just awesome. And not in a hipster kind of way. More in a Local kind of way. Striking up a Conversation with someone you never met.

Drinks only for us, but this is a good option in Capitol Hill before heading out to a tasty dinner in the neighborhood(in our case, Poppy.) Dark setting with black leather chairs, fruity drinks served in a pineapple with umbrellas, ship’s wheels over the bar, dark wood paneling, several giant mounted fish –with a major tip of the hat to fishing in the 50s, the Bait Shop is a retro cocktail spot. We liked the friendly factor here. Lots of cool smiling and tattooed waitresses with Midwest attitudes work at this joint and it has a nice mix of older, younger, and a diverse(for Seattle) crowd. We came in here with an older family member, who sweetly ordered a virgin Pina Colada, and they treated her like royalty. Love this place! One ding(sadly) for the flat Boneyard IPA they served. It was certainly a miss to have an excellent craft beer served all wrong. While we didn’t send it back, we probably should have. Major craft beer fizzle, given seriously lacking carbonation. While something was certainly amiss with their on tap offerings, we did appreciate the fun aesthetic and the welcoming, friendly feel. Not trying too hard. In a good way.

I love this place for dinner and/or drinks. It feels like a little bit of a Caribbean in Seattle! They serve frozen painkiller cocktails that are creamy, sweet, and deadly. Let’s just say they do a pretty decent job of killing your pain. They have a number of other inventive cocktails available as well. Their menu is limited but there’s something for everyone. The food isn’t cheap but it tastes great. I love the fish and chips– the fish was so light and flakey that it practically melted in your mouth. The interior of the shop was pretty dimly lit so I didn’t get a good look, but its a great place for a small group of friends to sit and enjoy drinks and food together. They have a few happy hour food and drink specials, but I didn’t get the impression that their happy hour is a particularly big draw here. Service was a little slow around 8PM on a Friday but that’s to be expected when its so busy. Its a great place to try out if you enjoy frozen tropical cocktails and tasty food!

I’m in love. Alcoholic slushies?! Mmmmm, yes please. I came in during Happy Hour(4 – 6) with some friends. I arrived at 5ish on a Friday evening and it was pretty empty, but by the time we left a few many hours later, it was packed. It was loud, but I’m sure 90% of that loudness came from my drunk mouth. I had my fair share of Seattle Ciders. We all shared an order of the fish and chips. I was trying not to eat all of it, but ended up doing just that. The fish was amazing and the fries were pretty good. Side of chips and guac and we were all set for the evening. They had some other yummy looking things on the menu. Their cocktail list looks amazing — esp. the Zombie(limit 2 per person, rum + rum + more rum + rum, whut?). Service was great. Our server was pretty patient with me while I sat around dilly dallying on what to order. He brought out some slushie samples, though the Frozen Painkiller was the best. A fruity, frozen treat. In love with the dark, atmosphere and fishing décor. It was kind of a high class dive :) This might be my new spotttt. PS — There is a photobooth outside the bathrooms!!! Love.
