We have tried all the varieties of fried rice over here and they are pretty good. The crispy chicken, though a little sweet, complements the spicy food well.
When asked for spice levels go with 2 or 3 as 4 was really hot. :)

My friend Isobel introduced me to this place last week and I must say I was oddly surprised. I went in expecting to see the usual Thai-​American dishes, but every menu item listed was authentic. Being on this crazy PALEO diet, it’s almost impossible to eat out and try different cuisines.
I ordered the Pad Khing Sod, level 4, loaded with ginger and mushrooms. The simply sautéed meat and veggies fit perfectly into my dietary restrictions and was delicious. The mounds of fresh ginger may be overwhelming for some palettes, especially with such a high heat level. I suggest getting a side of rice with this dish to avoid effervescent sensory overload.
The service was commendable. Both waitresses and the cook who came from the rear were all very accommodating and helpful. There seemed to be quite a few people in the bar for it to be a Wednesday night. I’m sure the large TV screen had the 9−5ers mesmerized.

Came here because I was craving Pad Thai and it’s the closest Thai restaurant to my apartment. The spring rolls came out first, for $ 7 I expected to get more than 4 tiny rolls. Not only was the portion size tiny but they tasted like pre made frozen rolls you could make yourself. The pad Thai was too sweet for me and the chicken meat was dark, which I normally don’t get in the usual pad Thai I order. We got slapped with a $ 25 bill. Someone previously mentioned that they require an 18% tip so they must have included that in the bill. I didn’t notice and tipped twice. Won’t be coming back, this was probably the worst Thai I’ve had :(

Went with two of my friends who came for Denver and Sanfrancisco. Food was really tasty and the server was very polite and helped us with the order. It was happy hours so we ordered couple of draft beers which was amazing. Would love to visit it again and again.

It hit the spot. It was colder than a witch’s tit this last Saturday in Seattle and we were craving some hot Thai curry to warm us up. We stopped at this place and ordered to go.
While we waited we were seated at the bar where very nice bartender offered us a drink and tried to entertain us with a small talk.
The bar is small, but so is the rest of the restaurant. It seems cozy but humble although the copper bar counter was a nice touch.
We didn’t have to wait long, our food was ready in just few minutes and we were on our merry way.
It was warm, flavorful and spicy, I ordered 3 * and so did my BF and yet mine was way spicier, so they have to synch that up I guess.
I’m giving 3 * review as I ordered shrimp curry with bell peppers and bamboo shoots, and I got mostly bamboo shoots and some shrimp. No bell peppers.
And that’s just not cool, man.

Just got take out here and was seriously disappointed. We came home and one dish (phud Thai) that we ordered was missing. The bathing Rama was described as «wok tossed» spinach — the spinach was raw. We called to complain and the person who answered was not very helpful, and when we returned (yes, we had to drive back to get the food that they left out) the bartender argued, didn’t want to comp the dish that was left off and then didn’t replace the dish that was poorly prepared. Definitely would not recommend this place as there are many great Thai restaurants in Seattle.

Hard to decide between two stars or one so I’ll give the benefit of the doubt because the service was fine. The food was far less than average however. We ordered the fried vegetable rolls and they tasted as though they came out of a pre-​made freezer bag from a convenience store and then microwaved. The Cashew Chicken we shared for dinner was a major disappointment. The chicken was dry, thin little shreds that had been overcooked to the point of tasteless rubber and we counted four cashews in the entire dish. To top it all, we each had two small cups of tea for which we were billed $ 10!
One thing Seattle has is plenty of great Thai restaurants but this certainly is not one of them. Recommend you keep looking.

Food wasn’t too bad. The fried rice was okay, but the Mussels Hot Pot was good. The experience wasn’t great enough for me to definitely want to go back.

I really liked this place. For Thai food, in particular, it’s all about balance — for example, I had the tom kha soup with chicken. I get it all the time when I go for Thai food — and usually there’s one flavor that stands out; the coconut milk overwhelms, or there’s too much cilantro, too much spice, etc.
Here, the flavor balance was really perfect. Felt the same way about the pad gra pow (it’s spelled differently in different areas — basically, spicy basil stir fry, I had mine with chicken). Very balanced. Enough of a kick to make me say, «Hey, how’s it goin’?» But not too much. Had the sticky rice instead of steamed rice, which always is a nice contrast to the savory-​ness of the spice. If I had one slight bit of feedback for the place it’s that they’re a bit heavy on the mushrooms — the flavor of which is great, but the actual presence of which was a little much for my taste.
The server was extremely nice; the atmosphere comfortable and inviting. I was on my own with a book, and had a really nice, relaxing meal. Definitely plan to return!

I’m a lunch regular here. Good food, good prices. Kind and friendly wait staff.
Heads up: Happy Hour food prices are great, but you have to order a drink to qualify for them. (Don’t you just hate those gotchas?) Tom Kha soup and Phad See Ew are my favorite dishes. Very flavorful.

Dropped by for a quick dinner with my father on a weekday evening and the place was pretty quiet save for a few tables. The service was great– the waitress lovely with a beautiful smile. I also loved the 90s and 00s music they played– I was very tempted to sing along… okay, maybe I totally did in my head.
The food was okay. My standby for Thai food is pad thai– I figure most people can’t mess it up and it’s good food. We ordered the phad thai and the coconut chicken. The phad thai was… pinker… than other phai thais I have had in the past. It was also sweeter and the sauce thicker. However, it also came with little chunks of tofu which were great. The coconut chicken was delicious, especially the curry sauce it comes with. The chicken was cooked and sliced– and I couldn’t decide if it was a little on the dry side or if it was the way it was cut that I felt it was dry. The sauce was still good.
The meal was a little pricey for Thai, but I figure that’s Capitol Hill prices. $ 2.50 for a bowl of brown rice did seem excessive though. Not a bad meal, but I did expect better particularly with the prices.

The 4 reasons I keep coming back to Ayutthaya…
1: Great late night happy hour. The portions are small, but delicious.
2: Family owned/​operated since 1985. If you live in Seattle you can appreciate such longevity in the midst of massive growth.
3: They have the best peanut sauce I have ever had. It’s on the sweeter side for those that care to know that.
4: Easy adaption to a vegan diet.

bad, bad… very, very bad!!!
please don’t eat here, so gross. at least don’t order the pad thai, which is the worst pad thai I have ever tried. so bad, that even though I’m starving right now, I couldn’t even take more than a couple bites. but my asian genes wouldn’t leave shrimp untouched, so I forced myself to at least finish the shrimp. ugh, my tummy is still rumbling. :(

Delivery is a HUGE RIPOFF! You’ll waste your money, wait forever, and end up hungry.
We’d been to the restaurant before and remembered it as being a good, affordable place, so we decided to try their delivery service via GrubHub. It’s a $ 25 minimum with free delivery, so we got the chicken pad thai ($ 11), the crispy garlic chicken ($ 12.50), and the cucumber salad ($ 2).
When the order was placed, they said it would take about an hour. Then we got an email saying they were busy and it would be more like 1.5 hrs. It ended up being an hour and fifteen minutes, aka just enough time to make everything cold and congealed.
The chicken pad thai was a cold, gluey mess, and despite the relatively high price, had hardly any chicken in it. The «crispy» garlic chicken was soggy, cold, and more like an appetizer-​size portion: about a half-​dozen pieces of mostly breading. As you can see in the photo, the small carton it came in was mostly empty. The cucumber salad, which we mostly got to hit the $ 25 minimum, was the best part — at least it was SUPPOSED to be cold!
Just completely pathetic. Slow delivery, overpriced, cold food, and tiny portions = the worst Thai food I’ve had in Seattle, probably ever.
