Description

Specialties

At the Experimental College, we offer non-credit courses, also known as adult continuing education. We have class categories such as dance, art, theater, and language. Our classes run on the University of Washington’s quarterly schedule for all four quarters. The time commitment of classes also ranges from one time to the entire quarter. We often post zany classes from the 90’s and earlier on our Facebook page. Sometimes we tweet haikus.

History

Established in 1968.

The Experimental College provides alternative education as a service to both UW students and the general public. We were founded during the counter-culture movement of the late 1960’s, and are one of only a few experimental colleges that still operate today. For our entire history, the Experimental College has been operated and staffed entirely by UW students, as a program of the Associated Students of the University of Washington.

Meet the Manager

Lauren H.

Manager

Lauren is the Director of the Experimental College. She is a senior at the University of Washington in the Foster Business School, majoring in Human Resource Management and Marketing. Passionate about learning all she can before she graduates, she hopes to share the wonderful world of experimental learning with as many Seattlites as possible. She takes at least two ExCo classes per quarter, so don’t be afraid to say hi! if you run into her.
