Artisan Window and Gutter Cleaning

Update 2÷1÷2016:
Had a phone conversation with Josh, the owner of Artisan and was really surprised to hear that he appreciated my review. I was able to voice my frustrations with the lack of communication and he understood where I was coming from. He even offered to take my service fee away for the roof cleaning but I was able to conclude that they did indeed clean my roof so that was not necessary. We agreed that if I go forward with the moss cleaning he would take off some of the total cost for it for all the trouble. Overall, really happy he was able to call and take ownership of the issues I wrote below.

1÷31÷2016 Initial Review:
I contacted Artisan Window and Gutter cleaning to perform some cleaning on my townhouse. I picked them because of their stellar Unilocal rating and am sad to say that I am extremely disappointed in them.
Josh, their technician texted me on ¹¹⁄₁₃ saying he was going to clean my roof. My friend was staying at my place at the time and mentioned that Josh came and performed maybe about 20 minutes of work. He did take out a big piece of debris from my gutters which was very helpful but mentioned to my friend that he had to clean the rest of the gutters that following Saturday. He never came.
Artisan then sent me a bill for $ 175 on ¹⁄₁₂ (nearly two months after Josh talked to me) and claimed that Josh performed the cleaning on ¹²⁄₄. A date where my wife was home and had no recollection of him coming. I was surprised that this bill came and was more concerned that they never notified me when the cleaning was done. Not to mention, this bill was sent nearly a month after the cleaning was supposedly done. I asked if they had pictures of my roof and they said that they don’t perform that unless it was for a moss removal. Look, if I had the ability to look at my roof I would. But I don’t have any way of checking it out unless I drop money on a really tall ladder or if I get a drone (none of those things are happening) so I then asked for a moss removal estimate and they mentioned that they will only do it if I paid. So I paid and asked them to come and we agreed that Josh would come back on Saturday ¹⁄₂₃. He never came, AGAIN. I followed up with an email that day and I got no response.

On 1/​26, I got a quote for $ 740 to perform moss removal. They never came to my house. I’m curious to know how they came up with this estimate without actually showing up. I decided to not even respond because I do not trust anyone at this company. I will be getting pictures of my roof shortly and will let you know if they actually did clean it.
Look I’m sure Artisan does a great job with roof cleaning, the pictures obviously show they know how to do their work. I do want to echo what Janet S. (Review on 1÷23÷2015) said about them being unreliable because they are EXTREMELY unreliable. I would really like it if they contacted me if they couldn’t make a scheduled appointment or randomly showed up at my place.

I attempted contact via their website. I described the job I had and did not receive a response either by e mail or phone call.

Good customer service. Price was right in the middle for the market, it seems. They swept the moss of my roof, and cleaned the gutters. Now I should be good for a few years! (I hope?).

Artisan has changed hands, and the after making an appointment with Josh – the new owner – he sent his partner Kiro to do the job.
Kiro arrived at the appointed time to clean the gutters and windows (including wooden storm windows, inside and out) on our Fremont craftsman, and he did an excellent job. He was polite, conscientious, and professional. The price was reasonable, and I didn’t have to deal with the anxiety of thinking about how much it would suck if I fell off the roof while trying to do the job myself!
I intend to use these guys again the next time I have dirty gutters and windows, and that’s as good an endorsement as one can give any business.

Excellent customer service. I used their website to schedule an assessment and got a reply within the same day. I had an idea of what I wanted, and actually saved money on what they suggested I really needed — I thought I wanted the roof pressure washed because I saw a neighbor do it, but they suggested a sweep to remove the moss instead to avoid damage to the roof, we also had an infestation of starling birds. After the service, the owner checked the results for quality. It’s been a couple of years since this service, but it was so impressive that I still suggest their service to other home owners.

Awesome!!! Josh was prompt to reply and set our appointment. The gutters where a real mess but his team did a great job. All the debris that fell to the ground and on the house was neatly cleaned up and swept away. I highly recommend Josh and his company!

Will not be using again. I made an appointment for cleaning the interior and exterior windows on my modest, 1 ½ story house – it took three visits to wash the exterior windows, and they failed to show up for washing the interior windows (and did not call). For the exterior, the window cleaner missed his original appointment window by 3 hours (called once after he had missed his 1 hour window to say that he would be another hour delayed – he got there more than 2 hours later), arrived at 3 pm and only had 2 hours of light in which to work. He asked if he could come back at 8 the next morning. Did not show up until 9:20, and left without washing 7 upper story windows. When I called, he told me he had washed them and I was seeing dirt on the inside of the windows. I convinced him that the dirt was on the outside, and he returned and washed the windows saying he did not know how he missed them. He left saying I would need to make a separate appointment to have the inside of the windows washed. The main contact, Josh, said he would do the interior windows himself, but he did not show up at the time he said he would (or at all), nor did he contact me. In a word, unreliable.

Prompt response for a quote and scheduled gutter cleaning as soon was available. Service was great all the way around and felt that I got good value. Also got some good recommendations for other ongoing maintenance etc. Invoiced and paid by check on the spot. Thanks!

Fantastic service. We have a two story house with lots of gutters, plus a garage with gutters. Technician Vance did a great job scaling the house and cleaning everything out and now our gutters are working without issue. The mud/​gunk/​leaves, which Vance put in our compost cart, was something to behold. I think we will probably start to do this service annually. Thank you!

They did a great job cleaning our gutters. I received a prompt response to my message, quickly got a quote and they were scheduled to come out within a couple of business days. He was a little late but after he explained that he was coming from North Seattle, we live in West Seattle, and it was late afternoon, it was completely understandable. He did a fantastic job and was super friendly and helpful. I will definitely call these guys again for gutter cleaning and for some spring window cleaning too!

Vance cleaned our windows and gutters and I am so pleased. He was friendly and detail oriented. I will definitely use this company again!

Josh cleaned the windows in our townhome recently and did a fantastic job. He was on time, meticulous in his work and came across as a kind, honest professional. (Very comfortable having him in our home — important for families where someone is at home and children are present.) We will have him back soon for some additional work (roof cleaning) soon!

Jeff came over a couple of times now to clean gutters at home. He did a great job and also fixed a bracket free of charge.

Jeff was great — easy to schedule, simple to work with, and very reliable, he took photos of a damaged spot on my roof that needed work, from a couple of angles, and texted me the pictures that night. Plus, his rates are very reasonable, and he did a great job! I will definitely be hiring him next time the leaves get to be a problem :)

I had a blocked downspout. Jeff gave me an estimate over the phone and then we scheduled a day for him to come out. He showed up early, fixed the problem for the exact quoted price, and promised to come back out if the problem wasn’t fixed properly. No issues whatsoever, and I will definitely use his service again. Excellent!

Great job guys! Scheduled a gutter cleaning with Jeff. The team came over right at 8am and were literally finished by 9am. They even put in some extra work to help bolt on a downspout funnel, trim a downspout to help it flow properly, and gave advice on how to fix some common problems pointing me in the right direction on how to do it myself if I wanted to.
Will be looking to Jeff and the team again this time next year!

I have used Artisan for two or three years in a row now. Besides the efficient fast gutter and window cleaning, he also treated moss on my roof. Prices very reasonable, super easy to work with.

Jeff was very helpful and responsive. We never actually met but he handled our gutters and roof de-​mossing very professionally. Easy to schedule and great on follow-​up. I didn’t shop too much but his prices seemed very reasonable. I’d definitely use again and recommend him!

Jeff from Artisan Window and Gutter Cleaning has treated our gutters and roof several times now and his service has been outstanding.
Most recently, we had very stubborn moss on our roof which took several treatments to fully remove. Jeff voluntarily came back to our house for several weeks in a row to follow-​up and retreat the roof, and the final charge didn’t exceed the original estimate. I don’t think Jeff planned on having to do this, but the fact that he stood by the original estimate and went above and beyond to make sure the problem was resolved exceeded my expectations.
Beyond that, Jeff is prompt, courteous, and reliable. I highly recommend him.
